Chapter 603 The Hot-Tempered Deborah
Ethan suddenly nodded, realizing that using the Sacred Wood as a bargaining chip was the right move.
"Ethan, you actually gave my Sacred Wood to someone else? What about me?" Angel complained in the Sea of Consciousness, looking pretty ticked off.
"Angel, you can't use it right now anyway, so it's better to use it where it will make the most impact. Besides, I'm just lending it to her, not giving it away. Once she's done, I'll get it back. Do you think the Ladies Guild would dare to keep my stuff?" Ethan tried to calm her down.
"I don't care. If I don't see the Sacred Wood when I can leave Requiem Tower, I'll use your soul to nourish mine," Angel warned, clearly pissed.
"Fine, I promise to give you the Sacred Wood when the time comes, okay?" Ethan reassured her.
"Mr. Wilson, you actually got your hands on the Sacred Wood? That's something countless master-level folks would kill for." Kenneth's eyes lit up.
"You're already a grandmaster-level, so don't even think about it. Unless you reach higher level one day, maybe I can help you out." Ethan rolled his eyes, seeing right through Kenneth's thoughts.
"Of course, how could I dare to covet your stuff?" Kenneth laughed awkwardly.
"Patricia, didn't you go to Everglow to get the Sacred Wood? How come you're back so soon? Did you get it?" A woman's voice suddenly came from outside the door, followed by several graceful and beautifully dressed figures entering the loft. But when they saw Ethan and Kenneth sitting inside, their expressions changed slightly.
"Are you Ethan?" Deborah Young stared at Ethan suspiciously.
"I'm surprised to be so famous in the Ladies Guild. Must be thanks to the Sacred Wood, right?" Ethan laughed.
With Kenneth as a super bodyguard, at least in the Ladies Guild, Ethan didn't have to worry about anyone snatching the Sacred Wood from him.
"Patricia, what's going on here?" Deborah turned to Patricia. They all knew Patricia went to Everglow to snatch the Sacred Wood from Ethan, but instead of Patricia getting it, Ethan showed up in the Ladies Guild.
"It doesn't matter. Linda needs the Sacred Wood in his hand. Since he's already here, let's just take it." Deborah, who looked the youngest among them, seemed to be in her early twenties but was actually at the initial stage of master level. She suggested eagerly, her eyes shining as she looked at the piece of black Sacred Wood in Ethan's hand.
"No!" Patricia immediately became anxious and quickly blocked Deborah.
"What's wrong, Patricia? At this point, what are you worried about? Only the Sacred Wood can help Linda break through. Let's not talk about principles now, okay? We can return it after using it." Deborah was both anxious and angry, not expecting Patricia to stop her.
"Enough, Deborah. I never agreed with Patricia going to snatch someone else's belongings. This is not what the Ladies Guild should do. Guests are guests, and we have no reason to rob them." Melissa Thompson stepped forward, clearly the second-in-command of the Ladies Guild.
"Melissa." Deborah looked at Melissa with resentment, but seeing her unmoved, she could only turn her head away angrily.
"Sorry, Mr. Wilson. If Patricia has offended you before, I apologize on her behalf. May I ask what brings you here today?" Melissa ignored Deborah and walked up to Ethan, asking calmly.
Ethan didn't rush to speak or explain anything. The beautiful women in front of him were quite pleasing to the eye, making him unconsciously look a few more times.
However, Ethan knew these women must have practiced some technique to slow aging, and their actual ages were not as young as they appeared. He had no interest in older women.
"Let Patricia explain to you all." Ethan smiled and looked at Patricia.
Patricia then briefly recounted the events in Everglow and what happened with Bonnie and Margare, leaving everyone stunned. Even the usually composed Melissa looked at Ethan in disbelief.
"I originally planned to lend you the Sacred Wood, but if you want to snatch it, go ahead. The key is whether you have the strength to take it," Ethan smiled at Melissa as he reminded her.
Patricia then whispered something in Melissa's ear, and Melissa's eyes widened in shock as she looked at Kenneth. Apparently, Patricia had revealed Kenneth's grandmaster-level status to Melissa.
"Ethan, this is the Ladies Guild. Even if you could fend off eight late-stage experts and kill one, do you really think we..." Deborah, hearing the provocation in Ethan's words, immediately got angry and pointed at Ethan, ready to fight.
Ethan was speechless. It seemed Bonnie would be more suited to be Deborah's apprentice; their tempers were exactly the same.
"Deborah, don't be rude," Melissa's face darkened, and she scolded Deborah before she could finish.
"Melissa, he's being too arrogant, not taking the Ladies Guild seriously at all," Deborah said indignantly, feeling wronged.
"Shut up! Say one more word, and you're out," Melissa was clearly serious, warning Deborah again without any politeness.
"Alright, I don't want you to hurt your relationship because of me. That would make me a sinner. It's just the Sacred Wood, I'll give it to you now," Ethan said, and actually tossed the half piece of Sacred Wood in his hand to Melissa.
Melissa's expression changed, and she quickly reached out to catch it. Even when the Sacred Wood was firmly in her hand, her face still showed disbelief.
Even Patricia was surprised by Ethan's actions, not able to believe that he trusted them so much that he would give them the Sacred Wood so easily.
"Mr. Wilson, what do you mean by this?" Melissa frowned, feeling the unusual sensation of the Sacred Wood in her hand, confirming it was real. But she couldn't believe Ethan would give it to them so straightforwardly.
