Chapter 455 Unable to Distinguish Right from Wrong

Seeing Enrique get all serious, Gerald and Emily started freaking out.

"Jessie, talk some sense into Ethan. We should just drop this. Jared's out, let's just head home and forget about it, okay?" Gerald pleaded with Jessie.

"Chill, Gerald. They can't touch Ethan," Jessie said, cool as a cucumber.

"Mom, take Gerald and Emily to the car. Keep them calm," Ethan told Jessie.

Gerald and Emily were worried sick, but with Jessie and Jared's coaxing, they headed back to the car.

Jessie stayed with them, so Ethan wasn't sweating it. The car was right there, and Jessie was a martial arts badass. No way regular folks could mess with her.

With Gerald and Emily out of the picture, Jared seemed way more relaxed. He stood next to Ethan, glaring at Enrique.

"Get up!" Enrique laughed, yanking the still-sobbing Laura off the ground.

"Jared, there's something I've been dying to tell you, but Laura begged me to keep quiet," Enrique said, grinning.

"No, please don't," Laura's face went pale with fear.

"What's the matter? Don't you think he deserves the truth? Eight years ago, when you were pregnant, was it really Jared's kid?" Enrique laughed, looking smug.

"What are you talking about?" Jared's face twisted in shock.

"Laura cheated on you and got knocked up with my kid. Surprised?" Enrique sneered.

"No way, if the kid's yours..." Jared's face went white.

"Are you saying if the kid's mine, then the rape evidence falls apart? Don't you know evidence can be faked? If I want to ruin you, I have a million ways to do it. I can have you out of prison one minute and back in the next," Enrique boasted arrogantly.

"Didn't think coming to Bankgok would be such an eye-opener," Ethan sighed. If Jessie hadn't decided to come back to Bankgok, who knows how bad things would've gotten for Jared.

"Now you see my power in Bankgok?" Enrique sneered, full of himself.

"Who's more powerful is still up in the air. Wait till your guys actually manage to kick me out of Bankgok before you start bragging," Ethan said, totally unfazed.

Honestly, guys like Enrique were small fry to him. He could squash them easily, but this wasn't just about him. He was doing this to sort out Jared's mess.

Enrique lived up to his rep. Not long after he made the call, a dozen cars rolled up outside the prison, and a bunch of guys got out in formation. Leading them was none other than Jimmy, the guy Ethan and the others saw yesterday.

"Isn't he Bradley's buddy?" Gerald's face showed surprise, and a shiver ran down his spine.

What really got Gerald worried wasn't Jimmy, but seeing Bradley tagging along behind him.

"Man, Bankgok's a small world. Bradley's mixed up with the folks who framed Jared," Jessie sighed, feeling helpless.

At this point, Gerald and Emily couldn't sit still any longer. Ignoring Jessie's advice, they got out of the car again.

"Mr. Coleman, I brought the crew. Fifty guys, that enough?" Jimmy walked up to Enrique, grinning.

"Nice work." Enrique nodded, satisfied, then sneered at Ethan, "My guys are here. Still wanna be stubborn?"

"Why is it you guys?" Bradley's face went pale when he saw Ethan and Jared.

"Bradley?" Jared took a moment to recognize him. It had been eight years, after all.

"You know each other?" Enrique squinted, curious.

"They're from Smith Village. Of course, I know them!" Bradley explained, looking conflicted.

"Mr. Coleman, is he the Jared you mentioned? The so-called rapist?" Jimmy asked, eyeing Jared thoughtfully.

"Bradley, Jared's your cousin. Do you still see me as your uncle?" A furious voice cut through the tension. Gerald, fuming, walked over.

If Bradley had been clueless, that'd be one thing. But not recognizing Jared as his cousin? That broke Gerald's heart.

"What are you all doing here?" Bradley's face changed again when he saw Gerald and Emily.

"Cousin?" Enrique raised an eyebrow, and even Jimmy looked surprised.

"Mr. Coleman, Mr. Cox, I didn't know you were dealing with him. And as for this rapist, I want nothing to do with him. Don't look at me like that; I'm on your side," Bradley panicked, sensing Enrique's unfriendly gaze.

"You jerk, how can you say that? Jared's your cousin, and he was framed. And you're siding with our enemies?" Gerald was almost having a fit. He couldn't believe Curtis had raised such an ungrateful person.

"Jared's case was judged by the court, with solid evidence. Stop talking nonsense. Just because you're my uncle doesn't mean you can lecture me." Bradley knew he had to take a firm stand now, even if it meant breaking ties with Gerald.

"If your father heard you say this, he'd be furious. How could our family have someone like you?" Gerald was heartbroken, but Ethan quickly transferred a burst of energy into his body, calming him down temporarily.

"Gerald, let me handle this. You just watch from the side," Ethan advised, feeling helpless.

"Alright, you give Bradley a good lesson." Gerald, clearly enraged, nodded and urged.

Ethan nodded, turned to Enrique, and said with a smile, "No wonder you think you're hot stuff in Bankgok. Surrounding us with all these people right at the prison gate, huh?"

"Not just surround you, even if I kill you, people around would act like they didn't see anything. Now you should understand my status in Bankgok," Enrique sneered disdainfully.
