Chapter 156 Ethan Wilson's Misunderstanding
Uopn seeing a trace of disappointment in Sarah's eyes, Ethan knew that his hesitation had clearly given her some thoughts.
But Sarah was actually defending him, which confused Ethan. What was she thinking? He felt embarrassed for his hesitation and was surprised that Sarah didn't get angry.

"Grandfather, let's wait until I come back from Houston after taking care of Remington's business before deciding on the engagement!" Ethan finally spoke, giving a deadline. He didn't know why he had to wait until he came back from Houston to make a decision. However, the figure in his heart played a decisive role!
"Okay. You agreed to go to Houston for Remington within a month, so it's not appropriate to talk about marriage now. We can set a date after you come back from Houston! But what do you have in mind this time going to Houston?" Clarence asked, changing the topic.
"It's mainly because of Remington's business. Otherwise, I wouldn't go to Houston so soon. What else could I have in mind?" Ethan replied with a bitter smile.
" You were the one who started the Wilson Group in Baytown, right?" Clarence asked cheerfully.
Immediately, Ethan turned to Sarah beside him.
"Don't look at me. I haven't said a word to Grandfather about the Wilson Group!" Sarah quickly shook her head and explained. She didn't want Ethan to think she had told Clarence.
"Don't mind Sarah. She hasn't told me, but do you think you can hide what happened in Baytown from my eyes? As soon as this Wilson Group suddenly appeared in Baytown, I knew it must be related to you!" Clarence's smile became even more pronounced. It seemed that his previous guess was correct.
"Now that you know, I won't hide it from you. The Wilson Group is indeed mine. I must take over Baytown's coal industry, which will be one of my capital to enter Houston!" Ethan immediately felt relieved and nodded straightforwardly.
"You took a risky move. Baytown is a good place, and the coal industry is a pillar industry of the country. Your ambitions are quite big, young man." Clarence's face gradually became serious.
"There are some things that must be done. If one doesn't take a gamble, how would one know if one can succeed?" Ethan said firmly.
"Did you talk to Remington about going to Houston within a month just to completely solve the problem in Baytown?"
"That's right. We don't need to take over the whole of Baytown to solve the problem. It's enough to make sure the Wilson Group gains a foothold in Baytown!"
Ethan nodded and explained.
"You're going to Baytown? Then I'll go with you. Don't think about leaving me behind!"
As soon as Sarah heard that, she immediately hugged Ethan's arm and pouted, reminding him.
"I won't be going to Baytown anytime soon. There will be people there to handle things. I don't need to go myself. I just have to wait for news from Baytown!"
Ethan shook his head, feeling amused and helpless.
"I'll go wherever you go. I'll go with you when you go to Houston!"
Sarah had made her attitude clear. She was determined to be with Ethan every day.
"Okay, let's all go! I'll take this opportunity to go back to Houston as well."
Clarence unexpectedly announced, joining the conversation.
Upon hearing Clarence’s words, Ethan didn't react much, but Sarah's eyes flickered with surprise. However, she clearly had concerns and didn't ask further questions.
After lunch, Clarence went to the study alone, and Sarah asked Ethan to wait for a while alone while she prepared a pot of coffee and brought it to Clarence.
"I knew you wouldn't be able to sit still, you little rascal!"
Seeing Sarah enter the room, Clarence sighed helplessly.
"Grandfather, is there any news from Chloe?"
Sarah put down the coffee cup and asked Clarence.
"Kenny has proposed to the Miller family. They have accepted, and the engagement ceremony will be held on the 15th. It happens to be around the time Ethan going to Houston. Your great-grandfather has received the invitation from the Miller family. Actually, it's enough for the family members to attend such an event, but I'm not entirely at ease!"
Clarence frowned, clearly having many concerns in his heart.
"Should I tell Ethan about Chloe's engagement?"
Sarah asked anxiously, and her face filled with conflict.
"Foolish girl. What difference does it make for you to say that? Not to mention the matter has been settled. Even if Ethan knew the truth, what difference would it make? And are you willing to hand over the man you like? Keep it secret as much as possible. It's better for the three of you!" Clarence warned earnestly. There was no way he didn't feel sorry for his granddaughter, and he had no ulterior motives.
Clarence also noticed that Chloe seemed to be the only obstacle between Sarah and Ethan.
Sarah had just noticed Ethan's hesitation earlier. How could Clarence not have noticed?
"But I always feel like a thief as if I stole Ethan from Chloe! And... I'm afraid he will blame me after knowing the truth!" Sarah said. Her face full of conflicting emotions.
"Ethan will understand." Clarence could only comfort his granddaughter as much as he could.
"Why would I blame you? I have known about her engagement for a long time. She told me herself. Why did you all keep it from me?" Just then, Ethan suddenly appeared at the door, pushing it open and asking the two of them.
"You already knew?" Clarence didn't expect Ethan to follow them, and he was even more surprised after hearing his words.
"Ethan..." Sarah's face instantly turned pale.
"She said she was going back to get engaged, asking me to forget about her and break up with me! If she doesn't care about the relationship, why should I hold on? Don't overthink. I will get engaged to you after I come back from Houston!" Ethan walked directly to Sarah and held her hand, making a solemn promise.
Only then did Sarah realize that Ethan had misunderstood the reason Chloe left from the beginning, and the misunderstanding might become a lifelong burden for Ethan.
"Come with me. I have something to tell you!" Sarah ignored Clarence's surprised expression and pulled Ethan out without hesitation.
"Why are you doing this, silly girl?" Clarence looked at the two figures leaving, sighing helplessly.
"What do you want to tell me?" Ethan asked in confusion, being pulled directly into her room by Sarah.
"Don't ask so many questions for now! Kiss me!"
Sarah tightly embraced Ethan and made a stunning request.
Seeing Ethan still in a daze, Sarah took the initiative and kissed him on the mouth.
Today, Sarah appeared particularly crazy and proactive. Ethan's mind went blank for a moment, but he immediately reacted and became more active from being passive.
Such a thing had happened once before, so the second time naturally followed suit. And at this moment, Sarah made Ethan experience a feeling he had never had before. The two gradually became lost in that state of extreme excitement.
Until the clouds and rain stopped, Sarah was already weak on the bed. Only then did Ethan gradually calm down and feel something seemed off about the woman in his arms.
