Chapter 346 Saving Jessie

In the suburbs of Everglow City, Ignatius and Roy were staring at a lab report, both looking pretty upset.

"Do you think Jessie is just messing with us?" Ignatius asked, clearly annoyed.

"At first, I didn't catch on, but lately, I've noticed her experiments are just repeats. She first suggested using stone, now she wants rare minerals. It's like she's leading us in circles! And this data is way off from what we expected; it's actually getting worse!" Roy said, shaking his head in frustration.

With his background, being played by someone in his field was infuriating.

"Looks like Jessie is playing games. She'll pay for this!" Ignatius snapped, tossing the report aside and heading out to find Jessie.

"Hold on, Dorian told us to report any progress or issues. We've still got over ten days until the deadline. Confronting her now isn't smart. Let's inform Dorian and let him handle it," Roy said, grabbing Ignatius's arm.

Even though Roy was mad too, he knew Dorian's temper. They had to be careful with Jessie.

"Fine, I'll tell Dorian. You keep an eye on Jessie and see what she's up to. When Dorian gets here, we'll make her pay!" Ignatius grumbled, leaving Roy's office.

Meanwhile, Ethan had just arrived from the airport and parked his car a mile from the house.

Alexander, who had been waiting, got in and said, "Dorian hasn't shown up yet, but Ignatius and Roy are inside."

"How much do you know about this secret lab? Is it hard to get in now?" Ethan asked.

"Are you planning to go in now? Ignatius is inside; won't that alert them?" Alexander asked, not knowing about Jessie since Ethan hadn't mentioned it. He was surprised Ethan was in such a rush.

"I'm here to rescue my mom. She's probably being held by Dorian inside!" Ethan finally revealed.

"What? Dorian has Mrs. Wilson in there?" Alexander's eyes widened in shock.

"Don't be so surprised. I need to get her out before Dorian catches on!" Ethan said, looking at the house through binoculars. He could only see the lights on the first and second floors.

"The Ashford family's guards are manageable; you can handle them. Getting in isn't the hard part. The real issue is Ignatius, a Half-Step Grandmaster, being inside. Rescuing her will be tough. Once Dorian hears, he'll be here in under five minutes!" Alexander said, thinking it over.

"Five minutes? Let's see if I can take down Ignatius in that time," Ethan said, eyes narrowing with determination.

Alexander's face changed as he felt Ethan's sudden surge of power. "Mr. Wilson, did you just have a breakthrough?"

"Yep, I'm now a Half-Step Grandmaster. Not sure if I can beat Ignatius, though," Ethan chuckled, though he was pretty confident he could handle it.

In other words, as long as Dorian, a master-level expert, didn't show up, he had a shot at rescuing Jessie, assuming she was really being held by Dorian.

"If that's the case, even if the rescue fails, you should be able to get out safely. No matter what, you need to be out within five minutes. Once Dorian arrives, escaping will be tough," Alexander said seriously.

"Tell me more about the inside," Ethan said, trying to sense the house but finding it too far to detect anything.

Back in Emerald Valley, he could only sense within ten yards. If he reached master level, that range could expand several times, but for now, it wasn't enough.

In other words, by the time he could sense Ignatius, Ignatius would probably already know he was here.

"The house has two floors. Given its original layout, it shouldn't be enough for a lab," Alexander explained.

"What do you mean?" Ethan asked, raising an eyebrow.

"The only way to solve this is to build a big basement under the house. So, the space under the house is hollow, and the two floors above are just for show. The real action is underground," Alexander said.

"What about the guards?" Ethan asked.

"There aren't many visible guards. Usually, no more than eight people are active on the two floors, taking turns. They patrol the first and second floors and the yard. These are the Ashford family's elite, top-notch warriors. Inside, it's unclear, but there are likely more than double the number outside," Alexander said seriously.

"Never mind that. Let's figure out how to get in first," Ethan said, getting ready to sneak into the house under the cover of night.

"Wait, aren't you going to ask for help from the Miller and Harris families? With their experts, your chances would be much higher," Alexander quickly stopped him.

"No time. The Miller and Harris families are definitely being watched by the Ashford family. I can't let Dorian get wind of this. Otherwise, even with their help, rescuing my mom would be impossible," Ethan said as he got out of the car. Before Alexander could react, Ethan had already disappeared into the night.
