Chapter 465 Injustice Redressed

As soon as Michelle barged in, her tough-girl act crumbled when she saw the five people in the room. She took a step back, looking kinda guilty.

Why? 'Cause Jared was standing there, looking all serious, still holding that broom from earlier.

"I told you not to come! Why'd you run over here? I couldn't even keep up!" Curtis came rushing in, looking all shocked at the scene.

"Gerald, Jared, you gotta tell me what's up with Bradley. He came home today acting all weird, locked himself in his room, and kept saying Jared's actions had nothing to do with him. What did you do to him?" Michelle snapped back to why she was there and demanded answers from Gerald.

"Michelle, didn't Bradley tell you what went down?" Gerald was surprised but then got it. Thinking about everything, he felt pretty helpless.

"You should ask Bradley what he did with Mr. Cox," Jared said, not in the mood to be nice.

"Jared, you can't talk to Michelle like that," Emily jumped in, trying to calm things down. Even though Michelle could be a bit much, Curtis had looked out for them over the years. The house thing was 'cause they couldn't afford it, so giving it to Curtis was fair. Emily never held a grudge, knowing they were all family.

"Jared got out of prison today, right? Bradley went too? What the heck happened?" Curtis grabbed the fuming Michelle, gave Jessie a complicated look, and then stared at Gerald and Jared, demanding answers.

After Bradley came back acting all strange, Curtis wanted to get to the bottom of it, knowing it probably had something to do with Jared. But hearing that Jessie and Ethan were also at Gerald's place, he held back.

Right then, Ethan's phone rang. It was Robert calling.

Gerald, who was about to explain, held back, waiting for Ethan to finish the call.

Ethan thought the timing was perfect. After a few words, he turned to Gerald and asked, "Gerald, you got a TV at home?"

"Yeah, we got a small one in the room," Gerald replied, not sure what Ethan was getting at, but led him to the room anyway.

Ethan and the others went into the room, and Curtis and Michelle exchanged confused looks before following.

The small TV in Gerald's room was showing local news from Bangkok, covering everything that went down at the prison gate today.

When Curtis and Michelle heard the news, they were floored. The news detailed how Jared was framed by Enrique, including the crimes of Ivan, Enrique, and Jimmy, all out in the open.

"Jared, you finally don't have to carry this false accusation. You're innocent; my son is not a rapist," Emily cried tears of joy, hugging Gerald and repeating herself.

"Dad, Mom, I can finally hold my head high," Jared, just as emotional, hugged Gerald and Emily. The three of them cried together, letting out eight years of pent-up grievances and anger.

"Jimmy, Enrique... please, just leave Bradley out of this," Michelle was freaking out, not even caring about Gerald's family anymore. She just hoped the news anchor wouldn't drop Bradley's name.

"Mr. Wilson, the preliminary investigation results are out. To clear Jared's name quickly, I had the news station broadcast the findings tonight. Are you satisfied?" Robert reported to Ethan on the phone, sounding all cautious.

"Nice work. Didn't expect you to move so fast. Thanks, Mr. Torres. I'll drop by sometime," Ethan replied, showing some respect and even making a promise.

"Thank you, Mr. Wilson. I messed up and let things get out of hand. This is my way of making amends. By the way, I heard you're heading back to the Wilson Villa to take over as head soon. Congrats in advance," Robert said, clearly pleased, shifting the conversation with a smile.

"Mr. Torres, you seem well-informed. Aren't you worried I might not become the head and get kicked out of the Wilson family again?" Ethan chuckled, not giving much away.

"Mr. Wilson, you're joking. I'll keep digging into the follow-up matters. If you need anything, just call me," Robert, startled by Ethan's words, regretted bringing it up.

Ending the call, Ethan turned to look at Gerald's family.

Jessie was still comforting them softly. Curtis and Michelle, though, only relaxed after the news ended, relieved Bradley's name wasn't mentioned. But they were already drenched in cold sweat.

"Got any more questions?" Ethan asked Curtis and Michelle with a smile.

"Who are you? Why does the governor of Novaria listen to you?" Michelle, terrified, stared at Ethan, her voice trembling, all her previous arrogance gone.

"Don't ask, just get out," Curtis didn't wait for Ethan to speak, grabbing Michelle and dragging her out.

"Curtis, what are you doing? Let go of me. Ethan's a big shot. Are you crazy? What if he wants to get back at us for turning them away before?" Michelle hadn't even apologized to Ethan before Curtis dragged her to the yard, shouting.

"If he wants revenge, let him. I haven't done anything wrong," Curtis, with a stern face, coldly snorted, dragging Michelle back home.

Jessie stood at the yard gate, watching Curtis and Michelle's receding figures, her face full of complex emotions. She could see the painful struggle in Curtis's eyes, knowing he resented her for leaving and never contacting them.

"Mom, why don't you explain?" Ethan appeared behind Jessie, softly reminding her.

"He’s mad ‘cause I left and never kept in touch. He doesn't want to talk to me anymore," Jessie shook her head with a bitter smile.

Ethan sighed helplessly. Michelle might try to curry favor because of his high status, but Curtis seemed more straightforward.

From that moment, Ethan's prejudice against Curtis lessened. He thought maybe he needed to mediate between Jessie and Curtis.
