Chapter 470 Returning to the Wilson Villa

Just as Ethan was mulling over whether Trevor and Beverly were really a bad match, Trevor spun around and handed him something.

"What the heck is this?" Ethan squinted at the thing in Trevor's hand. It was a metal plaque with a mountain on it, but no writing.

"Just take it," Trevor said, deadpan.

Ethan finally grabbed it. The metal plaque was warm, almost like it wasn't metal at all.

"This is the Token of the Gods," Trevor said, seeing the confusion in Ethan's eyes.

"Token of the Gods?" Ethan raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah, Raymond had someone bring it to me to give to you. There are eight of these tokens, held by the deacon elders of Celestia Vale. Raymond's got one, Phoenix has one, and the one you have used to belong to Francis," Trevor explained.

"Francis's token? What's it for, and why give it to me instead of Francis?" Ethan was even more puzzled.

"The Token of the Gods is a symbol of the eight deacon elders of Celestia Vale. Since Francis left, he can't hold onto it anymore." Trevor's look at Ethan was kinda intense.

"So, holding this token makes me a deacon elder of Celestia Vale and I can boss people around?" Ethan asked, eyebrow still raised.

"Pretty much. Except for the eight elders, you can command everyone else," Trevor nodded.

"But I'm not even part of Celestia Vale," Ethan shrugged.

"I know, and they know, but you should get why Raymond gave you this token," Trevor said seriously.

"Can I just say no?" Ethan squinted and asked calmly.

"You can, but I'd keep it for now. Might come in handy," Trevor advised.

"Yeah, maybe. How about this, after we get back from the Wilson Villa, you can take it back," Ethan said, putting the token away.

"Works for me." Trevor smiled as Ethan pocketed the token.

"Why do I feel like you and Raymond are up to something? Are you his spy?" Ethan asked, eyeing Trevor suspiciously.

"You're boring," Trevor rolled his eyes and headed downstairs, not wanting to engage.

"Are you calling me boring or Raymond?" Ethan shrugged and went back to his villa.

The next morning, Ethan, Chloe, and the others left the villa with Trevor and headed to the airport.

Ethan hadn't been back to the Wilson Villa since he left four years ago.

After a two-hour flight from Novaria, they had to either take a helicopter through the dense forests around the Wilson Villa or drive for at least two hours on winding mountain roads to get there.

Considering Camila and the pregnant Chloe, Ethan decided to go by car.

As soon as they got off the plane, Ethan and the crew saw a long line of cars waiting on the tarmac and a bunch of Wilson family guards, including some familiar faces Ethan recognized.

Elbert and the crew instinctively dropped their heads when they saw Ethan, avoiding eye contact like he was the principal and they were in trouble.

"Welcome back to the Wilson family," the leader, Eli, said loudly, bowing to Ethan and Jessie.

"Did Brady send you, or was it Elmer?" Ethan asked, strolling up to Eli with a grin.

"It was Elmer who sent us to welcome you," Eli replied, head still down.

"Why didn't Elmer come himself? And where's Brady?" Ethan chuckled, clearly not giving a damn about Elmer and Brady.

"Elmer's waiting for you outside the Wilson Villa, and Brady should be with him," Eli said, his mouth twitching but keeping it real.

"Alright, let's roll." Ethan wasn't in the mood to hang around. He led Chloe, Trevor, and the others into the central extended Mercedes.

A few minutes later, the convoy was on the move, heading deep into the mountains.

"How long's it been since you last came back?" Chloe asked softly, sitting next to Ethan.

"Almost four years. When Brady sent me to Novaria to fend for myself, he probably never thought I'd come back," Ethan said casually, with a light smile.

But Chloe and the others knew that while Ethan made it sound easy, the journey back to the Wilson Villa had been anything but.

Jessie stayed quiet the whole ride, staring out the window.

Ethan noticed and seemed to be thinking about something.

"Ethan, I wanna take a walk. You all go ahead," Jessie suddenly said as they were nearing the Wilson Villa.

"Where are you going?" Ethan asked, frowning.

"Nowhere special, just need to walk. Don't worry about me; it's not far from here to the Wilson Villa. I can walk back in no time," Jessie said firmly, not wanting to explain further.

Ethan had the driver stop the car. Everyone watched as Jessie got out and disappeared into the mountains.

Even without Jessie saying, Ethan knew where she was headed. This spot wasn't far from where Matthew and Jessie had their accident years ago.

"Let's keep moving," Ethan said.

The convoy resumed its journey. Not long after, they arrived at a large, open parking lot.

It was wild to see such a flat, expansive parking lot and a big helicopter pad in the middle of the forest. All of this just to make it easier for the Wilson family to come and go.

"Why does the Wilson family like living in these mountains? It'd be way easier to move to a big city," Chloe asked, puzzled.

"I can't answer that now. Maybe you can ask my mom. I've been here since I was a kid. I know this place like the back of my hand," Ethan shrugged. As he finished, he saw a large group of people standing outside the parking lot, led by Elmer and Brady.

"We're here. Time to get out," Ethan said with a smile. Once the car stopped, he opened the door and was the first to step out.

"Welcome back to the Wilson family." Cheers erupted around him as everyone greeted him.
