Chapter 505 The Powerful Gray Phantom
Before them was a dazzling white light, as if they were completely enveloped by a sphere of white light.
After emerging from the spatial passage, Ethan and his group felt as if they were in a massive maze and began to move in the direction indicated by Asura Bloodhand.
Ethan followed Asura Bloodhand for a while without incident and asked curiously, “There are no walls, no signs, no markers. How do you determine the path?”
“Don’t you see those floating white light clusters in the air? Remember I told you before, there are many such clusters here. They seem to float around randomly, but their trajectories are fixed. I’ve been here for over a decade and have figured out their patterns,” Asura Bloodhand pointed to the floating white light clusters in the air and explained calmly.
Ethan nodded upon hearing this. It was fortunate to have Asura Bloodhand. Otherwise, he would have spent a lot of time finding the way out.
“Do you feel it? The atmosphere here seems unusual,” Dorian reminded them at this moment.
Ethan and Elmer felt the same way. It was a peculiar sensation, as if something was trying to penetrate their bodies. While the majority of this energy failed to enter, a small portion did remain inside them.
What surprised them even more was that the energy that stayed in their bodies was quickly assimilated by their original super energy, becoming part of their own power.
In other words, from the moment they entered here, their strength was slowly increasing. Despite their slow growth, it was much faster than training.
“Just cultivating here is faster than anywhere else. This alone makes it incomparable to the Celestia Vale secret realm,” Elmer said, his tone carrying a hint of excitement.
Ethan didn’t speak but jumped up and grabbed one of the white light clusters floating above his head.
However, the light cluster quickly disintegrated upon his touch, turning into starlight and then recondensing into a new cluster in mid-air.
“This energy seems to be the same as the one trying to enter our bodies.” Ethan’s eyes lit up as he felt the residual energy of the light cluster.
“So, the energy in the air comes from these light clusters? What on earth are they?” Dorian was even more astonished.
But neither Ethan nor Elmer nor even Asura Bloodhand, who had been trapped here for over a decade, could answer him.
After a long while, Asura Bloodhand suddenly pointed ahead and reminded them, “This is it, the exit is just ahead."
“Is this the gray mist area you mentioned, where you can’t find a way out?” Ethan raised an eyebrow and asked.
“That’s right. That place is very eerie. If I hadn’t accidentally found the passage to enter here, I might have been trapped there forever.” Asura Bloodhand nodded.
“I remember you said there would be dangers coming in. Why has it been so peaceful? What dangers were you referring to?” Elmer asked.
“Danger isn’t constant. Maybe we’re just lucky this time and didn’t encounter it. I don’t know how to explain it, but we will definitely encounter it. However, with our strength, we should be able to handle it, so don’t worry too much.” Asura Bloodhand pondered for a moment but couldn’t explain further. Perhaps he didn’t know how to.
Ethan didn’t ask further and continued to follow Asura Bloodhand.
Suddenly, Asura Bloodhand shouted, “Watch out, it’s that thing."
Ethan and the others immediately felt a sense of crisis.
Grayish-white shadows appeared in the surrounding white light, floating in the air and quickly surrounding them.
They were like ghosts without physical bodies, but Ethan and the others could feel the energy fluctuations from these gray shadows.
“What are these things?” Elmer asked in surprise, casually striking out with his palms, dispersing the shadows that flew towards him. The shadows were directly shattered by his palm strike, and then dissipated.
“There’s nothing there, so where is this energy coming from?” Dorian also dealt with several gray shadows as if fighting the air.
But they wouldn’t dare to try being hit by these shadows, as the unknown was often the most terrifying.
“Fortunately, they have the energy of warriors or Half-Step Grandmasters, so we can handle them easily.” Ethan dispersed several gray shadows, but his expression changed suddenly.
“What is that thing, the ancestor of these shadows?” Dorian stared at a massive shadow that appeared in the distance and asked.
“That shadow is at least at the late stage of the master level, right? You said we could handle it?” Elmer felt the energy of the massive shadow and immediately turned to Asura Bloodhand.
“How could there be such a huge thing? I’ve never encountered it before.” Asura Bloodhand’s face turned pale, and his voice trembled.
“Stop talking, which way do we go now?” Ethan shouted at Asura Bloodhand.
“Follow me, quickly! As long as we get out of here and enter the mist area, that thing can’t follow us.” Asura Bloodhand finally reacted, speeding up and leading Ethan to the side.
They ran wildly until they suddenly plunged into a gray mist, and the sense of danger behind them disappeared.
Unlike the previous white space, this place was a gray, hazy world, like being in chaos, with nothing around.
“What is this place?” Dorian asked with lingering fear.
He was only a mid-level master. If they had encountered the late-stage master shadow, the outcome would have been unpredictable. He suddenly regretted agreeing to come to this place with Ethan. It was indeed an adventure.
Elmer also breathed a sigh of relief but teased Dorian, “Dorian, are you that scared?”
“If you’re so brave, go back and fight that monster,” Dorian rolled his eyes and snorted.
“This is the mist area I told you about,” Asura Bloodhand explained to Ethan.
Ethan turned to look at the place they had just come from. If he didn’t sense closely, he couldn’t find anything unusual. Only by sensing carefully could he find that the energy fluctuations here were different from other areas.
“If we leave here, how confident are you that we can return to this spot?” Ethan asked with a frown.
“It’s hard to say. As long as we don’t go too far, we can sense each other and easily determine the direction.” Asura Bloodhand shook his head.
“According to you, this place has no end. If we get separated, we might all be trapped here,” Elmer reminded him seriously.
“But staying here won’t get us anywhere. We have two choices: either go back and possibly encounter that thing again, or explore this mist area first,” Ethan pondered for a moment and then presented two options to them.
