Chapter 654 The Sealed Land
Orla's words left Ethan and the others in silence.
Did they really have no way to deal with the Sealed Land?
If it was truly as Orla said, that even reaching the Golden Core Stage couldn't break the seal, then how was Ethan supposed to return Maeve's soul to her body?
"You really can't remember any of the control techniques for the Sealed Land?"
After a long silence, Ethan still couldn't give up and asked Orla.
"Unless I can recover to the Transformation Stage, my memory will always be incomplete."
Orla gave a definitive answer.
"Since Sidney could go in and collude with Emilio, he should know the control techniques for the Sealed Land. It's just a pity he got away!"
Raymond reminded with a helpless expression.
"Actually, you can wait until the Sealed Land disappears. Even if you go in now, the master hasn't awakened, so it would be useless! Once the master awakens, the seal will naturally disappear!"
Orla reminded in a calm tone.
Hearing this, Francis and Raymond exchanged glances. They understood the logic Orla was talking about, but she said the master hadn't awakened yet. Did that mean she doubted Ethan was her master?
But before, she was adamant that Ethan was her master and was deeply convinced, leaving no room for argument!
"Master, can you not remember how your soul left the Sealed Land?"
Orla suddenly asked Ethan.
Hearing this, Francis and Raymond couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, feeling their sudden worry was unnecessary!
Ethan was also at a loss whether to laugh or cry.
The reason Orla stubbornly believed he was her master was simply because he had Maeve's soul aura. In simpler terms, the contract mark planted deep in the soul couldn't lie. It had nothing to do with him being Ethan or whether he was male or female!
"Ethan, only a powerful consciousness can enter the Sealed Land's restriction."
At this moment, Maeve's voice suddenly sounded in Ethan's mind.
"You mean, Sidney entered the Sealed Land through his consciousness and then brought your soul out? Do you remember something? How did he do it?"
Ethan's heart moved upon hearing this and quickly asked.
"The key is how he did it. To enter the Sealed Land with consciousness, one needs at least the Golden Core Stage cultivation. He hasn't reached the Golden Core Stage, yet his soul is so strong. Could it be that he..."
Maeve paused suddenly.
"Could it be what?"
Ethan immediately asked.
"I'm not sure. I can't remember. I need to ask them first and then tell you!"
Maeve shook her head in frustration.
"There's no rush. Tell me when you figure it out. But you just said a powerful consciousness can enter the Sealed Land. Does that mean I can do it too?"
Ethan asked eagerly.
His consciousness was far stronger than the average person, and with his recent breakthrough to the mid-peak of the master level, his consciousness had also made a qualitative leap. If the previous Ethan had just begun to grasp the use of consciousness, now he had reached a level of mastery.
"Maybe you can give it a try!"
Maeve nodded noncommittally.
"Please wait here. I'll try to see if my consciousness can break through the seal!"
After learning another possible way to enter the Sealed Land from Maeve, Ethan immediately told Raymond and Francis.
"Alright!"
Francis nodded in realization.
Ethan sat cross-legged in front of them and entered a meditative state.
"Can consciousness really enter the Sealed Land?"
Raymond looked at Ethan sitting in front of him and murmured softly with a frown.
"His consciousness is far stronger than ours. The ZF Guild's successive leaders have all experienced rapid improvement in their consciousness after practicing the ZF knack. We might not be able to do it, but he definitely has a chance!"
Francis stroked his beard and reminded with a smile.
Raymond then showed a look of realization.
However, Francis only knew part of the story. Although the ZF knack included aspects of consciousness training and could help practitioners enhance their consciousness far beyond ordinary practitioners, Ethan's real advantage came from the benefits he received from Maeve and the Requiem Tower!
The secret techniques for soul attacks, for example, were learned outside of the ZF knack.
The ZF knack was just a foundation!
Regardless of Raymond and Francis's speculations, Ethan found that his consciousness was still blocked by a powerful force when it touched the Sealed Land's restriction.
"I can't get in. Is my consciousness not strong enough? How did Sidney do it? Or is his consciousness even stronger than mine?"
Ethan tried several times but found that every time he felt close to breaking through the restriction, a force would bounce him back. It seemed that to break through this restriction, his consciousness still needed to improve further!
"Let me give you a hand!"
At this moment, Maeve's voice sounded again in Ethan's Sea of Consciousness, and a massive force of consciousness surged into his Sea of Consciousness.
With this sudden influx of power, Ethan tried to break through the restriction barrier again. This time, he finally broke through the seemingly impenetrable thin membrane, and his consciousness entered the mysterious gray area.
"After all these years, someone has finally broken through the restriction seal to enter this place. You are the first local practitioner in two thousand years—besides Neil—who's gotten the chance to talk to me!"
As Ethan tried to explore the misty area, a harsh and obscure voice suddenly entered his Sea of Consciousness.
"Who are you? Emilio?"
Ethan's heart tightened, immediately realizing who was speaking!
"You know me? How did you enter this place? Where is Neil?"
Emilio's tone suddenly became low, and a powerful oppressive force spread towards Ethan's area.
Ethan immediately felt it was difficult to move forward, as if any further progress with his consciousness would be met with strong resistance!
Fortunately, with Maeve's help, he continued to move slowly towards the center despite the resistance.
Soon, Ethan saw a massive stone platform. Strange golden symbols glowed around its edges, emanating what felt like a powerful invisible barrier.
"Neil has long been dead. The Neil you speak of was just a puppet. You don't need to know who I am. I'm here to tell you that your end is near!"
Ethan snorted coldly, responding unceremoniously.
"You're not one of his people. If you have entered this place, has something really happened to him?"
Emilio's voice was filled with anger and a hint of uncertainty!
"That's right, he's done for!"
Ethan naturally wouldn't say that Sidney had escaped from him. What he needed to do now was to overpower Emilio in momentum and see if he could extract some useful information from him!
