Chapter 589 Nervous Angela

Ethan just casually accepted a grandmaster-level servant, leaving Angela and Shane totally floored.

"You hang out in the secret realm for now. When I head to the ML Guild, you can tag along," Ethan told Kennet.

"ML Guild? Are you going after the hidden sects?" Kennet, clueless about Ethan's past run-ins, was just as surprised.

"Scared?" Ethan raised an eyebrow.

"The ML Guild's no big deal. But those hidden sects? They're tricky. There might be a bigger sect backing the ML Guild," Kennet warned seriously.

"I get it. Just come with me when it's time. We'll use the ML Guild to feel out these hidden sects," Ethan said firmly.

"Got it." Kennet nodded, no more questions.

"With him going, I don't need to show up. But be careful with the hidden sects. They're not all the same. You gotta know who's good and who's bad and unite all the allies you can," Francis advised Ethan earnestly.

"Do I look that dumb? Chill out," Ethan replied nonchalantly.

"It's late. I gotta get back to transcribing ancient books. You should head back too," Francis said, disappearing in a flash.

"I'll take off too," Kennet said to Ethan and vanished.

Only Shane was left, standing there, totally lost for words. "Got something to say?" Ethan raised an eyebrow.

"Nope. I'll go practice martial arts." Shane snapped out of it, noticing Ethan's annoyed look, and quickly left.

"Why do you scare him like that?" Angela asked Ethan, half amused, half annoyed.

"He's cramping our alone time," Ethan explained seriously.

"You're so petty. So, wanna keep stargazing with me?" Angela laughed softly, looking at the starry sky.

"Stargazing's a waste of good time. Let's go back and do something more fun." Ethan grinned mischievously, scooping Angela up and disappearing from the mountaintop.

The next morning, Ethan and Angela said goodbye to Cynthia and Lorenzo and hopped on a flight to Novaria.

Meeting Jessie for the first time, Angela was understandably nervous. Though she usually seemed aloof and cold to outsiders, she was different with those she cared about. Loving Ethan meant she also cared about Jessie's opinion of her.

"Did you give them a heads-up?" Angela asked Ethan anxiously as they got off the plane.

"Of course, I wouldn't just spring this on them. They might be waiting for us outside," Ethan said, amused by Angela's nerves.

As they walked out of the airport, they saw a familiar car waiting. Chloe was driving, and Alice was in the passenger seat.

Angela and Alice had met at the airport before a trip to Norway, making this reunion a bit awkward. The awkwardness was more on Angela's part as the newcomer.

"Hop in," Ethan said, opening the back door and pulling Angela inside.

"You've been so busy we haven't seen you for a while," Chloe said with a hint of dissatisfaction.

Ethan felt a bit embarrassed. He'd been in and out of Novaria quickly in the past, leaving everything to Jessie. He didn't expect Chloe to mind.

Seeing Chloe's slightly rounded belly, Ethan sighed. "I didn't mean to. I've been busy. But I promise to be there when you have the baby."

"You better be." Chloe perked up, giving Ethan a look that said he better not break his promise.

"Aren't you gonna introduce the lovely lady with you?" Alice reminded Ethan.

Angela greeted them with a smile. Chloe smiled sweetly, showing no signs of jealousy.

"I told you on the phone, and you've met her before. Do I still need to introduce her?" Ethan said to Alice, exasperated.

"How'd you manage to win Angela over?" Chloe asked, laughing.

"Win over? I was the one who got tricked," Ethan said, pretending to be upset.

"So, you're saying you're unhappy being with me?" Angela pinched Ethan's waist, glaring at him.

"That's not what I meant. Our relationship was set up by Norman and Remington. I'm just telling the truth," Ethan explained hurriedly.

"Alright, no need to explain. Mom's waiting at home. You can explain to her," Chloe said, making Ethan and Angela fall silent. Both felt a bit nervous, especially Angela, who was meeting her mother-in-law for the first time.

Half an hour later, they arrived at the villa. Knowing Ethan was coming, Camila hadn't gone to kindergarten and was waiting in the yard with Hannah, eagerly looking out for Ethan.

Seeing Ethan, Camila ran joyfully into his arms, showing how much she missed him.
