Chapter 552 Getting Beaten Up
Angela had never felt her heart hurt this bad. When she found out Ethan had bailed without a word, it felt like her whole world was crashing down.
She floored it towards the estate gate, desperate to catch up with Ethan and find out if he still wanted her.
Tears streaming down her face, she laid on the horn like a madwoman, trying to get Marco to lift the barrier. And then, she saw Ethan.
"Ethan, isn't that Angela's car? What's she doing, driving like a bat outta hell?" Marco was freaked out by Angela's speeding car.
Luckily, Angela chilled out as soon as she saw Ethan. She finally slammed on the brakes and stopped the car a little ways from them.
"Ethan, you jerk!" Angela, eyes red and puffy, jumped out of the car and charged at Ethan.
"Angela, don't lose it. Let's talk this out." Marco, seeing the situation, quickly stepped in between them, but Angela kicked him to the ground.
Still fuming, Angela tried to kick Ethan, but he grabbed her ankle, making it impossible for her to pull her leg back.
"Let go of me, you jerk!" Angela yelled, furious.
"Can we just talk? What did I do to piss you off?" Ethan asked, looking all innocent.
"You seriously have the nerve to ask? Who told you to leave without a word? Do you think I care about you that much?" Angela spat, gritting her teeth.
"What do you mean, leave? Who said I was leaving?" Ethan asked, even more confused.
"If you're not leaving, what are you doing here?" Angela was stunned.
"I came to chat with Marco, to get the dirt on your embarrassing moments. Is that enough to make you this mad?" Ethan explained.
Angela asked suspiciously, "Are you sure you came to chat with him and not to leave?"
"Angela, you're a martial artist. I can't take another kick from you. Are you trying to cripple me?" Marco said, getting up and rubbing his butt, almost in tears.
"What did he come to talk to you about?" Angela turned to Marco and asked.
"He just wanted to know about your past," Marco explained, rubbing his butt, looking helpless.
Ethan asked Angela, "Do you believe me now?"
"Let go of me first," Angela blushed and snapped angrily.
"I'll let you go, but don't start hitting people again. I don't mind, but I'm worried you'll hurt someone else." Ethan glanced sympathetically at Marco before letting go of Angela's ankle.
"Why did you suddenly leave? What's going on?" Angela asked, thinking back to what had happened at the villa earlier.
"I said I wanted to go for a walk, so I came out. Didn't know your folks would tell you that," Ethan shrugged.
Angela realized her parents might've played her. Thinking about how they saw her lose it, she got even more frustrated.
Seeing her frustration, Ethan couldn't help but laugh.
"Stop laughing! This is all your fault. Did you team up with them to make me look like an idiot?" Angela, fuming, punched Ethan in the chest.
Marco, watching from the side, was wide-eyed. That punch had no force at all.
"How else would I know if you cared about me? Why didn't you clear things up with your parents before?" Ethan grabbed Angela's wrist, grinning cheekily.
Just then, Leo rushed in from the gate. Seeing Ethan and Angela hugging, his eyes lit up.
"Leo, couldn't you come back a bit later?" Marco was dumbfounded. Then he felt a sudden murderous aura beside him and shivered.
"Marco, stay right there," Angela shouted angrily and rushed towards Marco. Macro had agreed to keep Ethan's matter a secret, but he had already spilled the beans to Leo!
"Ethan, help me hold Angela back," Marco jumped up, running in panic, and called out to Ethan for help.
"Sorry, can't help you this time." Ethan gave Marco a sympathetic look and sighed helplessly.
Angela grabbed Marco by the collar and dragged him into the guardroom. Hearing his miserable cries, Ethan and Leo winced.
"Are you Leo?" Ethan raised an eyebrow and looked at Leo, who was gloating.
"Hi, didn't expect you to know my name." Leo's eyes lit up, and he quickly extended his hand to Ethan with a smile.
"I just heard Marco and Angela mention you." Ethan didn't hesitate to shake hands with Leo.
"Ethan, how did you do it?" Leo asked, looking at Ethan with admiration.
"Do what?" Ethan didn't get it.
"I mean, how did you win over the fierce Angela?" Leo had just finished speaking when the guardroom door opened, and Angela came out with a hostile look.
"Do you want to disappear now or go in and join him?" Angela asked Leo with a cold smile.
"Never mind. Just remembered I have something important to do. See ya." Leo shivered and disappeared in a flash.
Ethan widened his eyes in surprise. He finally understood Angela's status among these military brats.
Angela snorted coldly and then turned her gaze to Ethan.
"Is Marco okay? Do I need to call an ambulance?" Ethan asked, rubbing his nose and laughing nervously.
