Chapter 257 Beverly Arrived
At Everglow City International Airport, Zephyr and Logan were both at the VIP exit, surrounded by a row of stern-faced bodyguards who completely isolated a section from the crowd.
"When did we become so humble as to come to the airport to pick up someone with no inheritance rights personally? And a woman at that!" Logan was getting a bit impatient and kept complaining.
"You better keep quiet. She is now highly favored by the Brady and has just made a huge contribution to the Wilson Family. If you could, you would naturally earn this respect, too!" Zephyr leaned against the central pillar of the hall, eyes closed, and reminded him calmly.
Logan looked unconvinced but couldn't find any excuse to argue. If he had to say what contributions he had made to the Wilson Family, he would be at a loss for words.
He surely couldn't talk about how many women he had dated, could he?
However, as the nominal heir of the Wilson Family, being asked to come to the airport to pick up Beverly made him feel uncomfortable anyway.
"Beverly did well in this matter, barely enough to make me come to pick her up!" Logan snorted, and just as he finished speaking, someone walked out of the passage.
Beverly had shed her recent professional image within the group and reverted to her former flamboyant self, appearing in a bright red outfit, especially that red trench coat, which added a lot of mature charm to the young Beverly, giving her an even more commanding presence.
"Isn't she dressed a bit too flashy?" Logan looked Beverly up and down and sneered.
Zephyr opened his eyes, glanced at him, and then walked directly toward Beverly.
"Wait for me!" Seeing this, Logan quickly followed from behind.
"Beverly, Dashiell asked us to pick you up!" Zephyr said calmly to Beverly, who had just walked out of the passage.
By age, Beverly was the eighth in the same generation, while Ethan was the ninth.
"How come you two have time to pick me up at the airport? Where is Dashiell?" Beverly asked with a smile.
"He has important matters to attend to, so he asked us to take you to the hotel. You'll see him this afternoon," Logan said, pouting as if he were the one who couldn't get away.
Beverly couldn't be bothered to pay attention to Logan. She nodded at Zephyr and walked out of the airport.
A bodyguard tried to help Beverly with her suitcase, but she refused.
"Thank you both for coming all this way to pick me up, but I'm not going to the hotel for now. You can go back." As soon as she walked out of the terminal, Beverly stopped and turned to Zephyr and Logan.
"Where are you going?" Zephyr asked with a frown.
"I heard Stellar Nexus Enterprises is opening today, and there's supposed to be a press conference. Naturally, I'm going to join the fun!" Beverly explained calmly.
"Dashiell has arranged tonight's banquet with the Ashford family. If you go now, wouldn't you disrupt Dashiell and Dorian's plans?" Zephyr's expression changed slightly, and he reminded her seriously.
"Don't worry, I'm just going to take a look. It won't affect your plans for the evening." As soon as Beverly finished speaking, a black MVP stopped by the roadside.
Under the surprised gazes of Zephyr and Logan, Beverly pushed her suitcase and got into the car directly.
"How come? We came to the airport to pick her up personally, and she ran off to see Ethan?" Logan was instantly furious.
Zephyr frowned, watching the car drive away, and then dialed Dashiell's phone.
"Dashiell, Beverly just got off the plane but refused to come back with us. Instead, she went to Skyline Center!"
"Let her be. She won't cause any trouble." Dashiell was silent for a moment before hanging up the phone.
"What did Dashiell say?" Seeing Zephyr put down the phone, Logan quickly asked.
"Let her be." Zephyr glanced at him and then led the way to the parking lot.
At this moment, no one suspected Beverly's purpose in seeing Ethan because their relationship was hostile. After all, IntelliMerge Group had just been acquired by Beverly.
Meanwhile, at the Skyline Center, in the former Zenith Group conference room, a large group of media reporters had already swarmed in. Most of the reporters were not visiting this conference room for the first time. Still, the difference was that this time, the owner was no longer Zenith Group but the newly established Stellar Nexus Enterprises.
Jayden, Merrick from the Miller family, and Clarence from the Harris family jointly held this press conference to announce the formation of the new group representing the interests of Ethan, the Miller family, and the Harris family.
Ethan was naturally not keen on such high-profile events and wanted to avoid making an appearance. Instead, he was wandering around the office area of the building with a few girls.
"I can't believe you actually pulled it off in just a few days. It's like you got this building for free!" Chloe looked at Ethan's beaming face and reminded him, "But Dorian definitely won't give up."
"That's right. Kenny was released last night, and the Ashford family might look for an opportunity to retaliate. You need to be careful!" Sarah agreed wholeheartedly.
"I just started to have a sense of superiority, and you are discouraging me." Ethan shook his head, at lost for words.
"We just want to remind you not to let your guard down. Be careful of any trouble. Tonight's banquet won't go smoothly! Chloe reminded him earnestly.
At that moment, Joe suddenly came running over and said to Ethan, "Mr. Wilson, someone is here to see you. She says she's your sister and has been arranged in the reception room on the twelfth floor."
"Your sister?" The girls all looked at Ethan in surprise.
"No, it's Beverly. You all know her! I didn't expect her to come looking for me right after getting off the plane!" Ethan laughed knowingly.
Chloe and Sarah naturally knew Beverly. Beverly had taken over and managed the Cloud Group shortly after Ethan was kicked out.
But now they were enemies, and Beverly came to Everglow City at such a critical time and directly sought out Ethan. What was she up to?
"I'll see her. You can wander around," Ethan said to the girls and then left with Joe.
As for Joe, he ultimately chose to stay with Ethan's new group. Ethan not only doubled his salary but also appointed him as the head of security, a promotion, and a raise!
"I think something is going on between Ethan and Beverly. Should we go and check it out?" Sarah suggested at this moment.
"Eavesdropping on their conversation doesn't seem right." Chloe hesitated.
"What do you mean eavesdropping? We're just going to listen openly, and it's all for his good!" Sarah pouted.
