Chapter 238 An Impulsive Action Was Troublesome
Suddenly, Lucien and the others encountered someone coming to their rescue. They widened their eyes and didn't understand the situation. But Lucien knew this was not the time to show off or express gratitude. He had to leave quickly and immediately notify Ethan to come and save them.
Gritting his teeth, Lucien took a deep look at Lysander and shouted to the still-dazed members of the Harris family, "Let's go!"
They finally snapped out of the daze and quickly followed Lucien away.
Just as they ran out of the mall entrance, Lucien hurriedly took out his phone and dialed Ethan's number.
"Don't bother. I'm right here!" Ethan appeared in front of Lucien with three girls.
"Are you guys okay?" Sarah stepped forward and asked Lucien.
Lucien and the others were surprised to see Ethan and the others.
"Why are you here? Great, you need to go inside quickly. Someone just saved us from Kenny, but he's still in there alone, and I'm afraid something might happen!" Lucien said anxiously. He thought, 'Even though Lysander is an officer, Kenny is not an ordinary person and might do something excessive!'
"Why do you think someone just happened to come out and save you?" Ethan rolled his eyes.
"You called that officer to save us, right?" Lucien immediately took a tumble. He had been too anxious earlier. Ethan's presence here already explained everything.
"Mr. Wilson, Lysander doesn't seem to be a warrior. I'm afraid Kenny might not play by the rules, and Lysander could get hurt!" Elthon stepped forward from behind Lucien and reminded Ethan.
"I actually hope Kenny has the guts! You go ahead. I'll handle the rest!" Ethan chuckled and patted Elthon's shoulder.
A warm sensation spread from his shoulder to his limbs, making Elthon's body tremble, and the injuries he had just sustained were significantly alleviated.
"Thank you, Mr. Wilson!" Ethan's action left Elthon shocked and deeply grateful.
"Hurry up. Aren't you worried about Lysander?" Sarah reminded Ethan.
Ethan raised an eyebrow and then swaggered into the mall with the three girls.
Lucien wanted to stay and see what would happen, but Elthon stopped him, so he reluctantly led the others away.
In fact, if Lysander hadn't suddenly appeared, their outcome would have been predictable. Thinking back, Lucien felt a wave of fear.
In the work area, the standoff between Kenny and Lysander continued.
"Are you planning to keep pointing that gun at me?" Kenny suppressed his anger, squinting at Lysander and asking coldly.
"If you didn't act recklessly, I wouldn't use the gun! I'm not as good at Judo as you, but you might not be a match for me in terms of guns. You can try and see if you're faster than my bullet!" Lysander warned calmly, then put the gun away.
"You're courting death!" Seeing Lysander put away the gun, Kenny roared in anger, clearly intending to take advantage of the opportunity to make Lysander take the hit!
But at that moment, Kenny's phone suddenly rang.
"You'd better answer the phone, young man," Lysander calmly reminded him with a smile.
Kenny hadn't planned to answer the sudden call, intending to take down Lysander first, but Lysander's words made him uneasy and gave him a bad feeling.
When he took out his phone and saw the number, Kenny's face turned extremely grim.
The call was from Dorian!
"Dad!" Staring intently at Lysander, Kenny gritted his teeth and answered the phone.
"Get back here immediately, and don't lay a hand on anyone. Do you understand?" Dorian's words were straightforward as if he already knew the situation here, and he commanded in an unquestionable tone.
"Why?" Kenny didn't expect this to happen and asked with a stern face.
"No reason. Is there someone named Lysander with you? He's Remington's driver. Don't cause trouble for me. Don't you think we have enough problems already?" Dorian explained angrily.
Kenny's eyes were full of disbelief as he slowly put down the phone, his face growing increasingly grim.
"Kenny, can I leave now?" Lysander glanced at the security guards still surrounding him and asked calmly.
"What if I refuse to let you go?" Kenny clenched his fists, clearly struggling internally.
"Do as you wish. I won't fight back. If you want to keep me here, I have no objections." Lysander shrugged indifferently with a serene smile on his face, showing no signs of worry.
Meanwhile, Ethan was still on the phone, unhurried.
"Ethan, what exactly are you trying to do?" Dorian's questioning voice came through the phone, clearly suppressing a wave of anger. His voice trembled slightly—not from fear, but from rage!
"Dorian, I don't understand what you're saying. I kindly sent a message to warn you that Kenny might cause big trouble. I'm saving you!" Ethan said with a smile.
"Don't give me that. Don't think I don't know you're behind all this! You better stop, or I'll kill you myself!" Dorian felt that if he were really in front of Ethan right now, he might just get physical with Ethan.
Ethan's constant provocations were wearing down even his best patience!
"Don't get angry. I'll check if Kenny has done anything irreversible. If Lysander turns into another Isolde, the Ashford family will really have a headache!" Ethan said with a laugh and then hung up the phone.
The smile on his face deepened. He could even imagine Dorian's furious expression on the other end.
"You actually got Dorian to help you save Lysander. But that is indeed the best way!"
Chloe finally understood why Ethan wasn't worried about Lysander's safety at all. As long as Dorian hadn't lost his mind, he wouldn't let Kenny lay a hand on Lysander. The Ashford family couldn't afford the consequences!
In fact, Kenny indeed didn't dare to do so.
When he found out that Lysander was Remington's driver, a deep sense of helplessness welled up inside him.
No matter how angry he was, he knew he couldn't lay a hand on Lysander.
He could find an excuse to beat an ordinary officer up as long as the officer didn't die. After all, Lysander had fired first and was surrounded by Kenny's men. Besides, Kenny had also turned off the surveillance in the area to deal with Lucien and the others, leaving no evidence.
But Lysander was Remington's man. Kenny didn't have the guts to fight Remington!
Hitting Lysander would be like slapping Remington in the face, leading to endless trouble!
What puzzled him more was why Lysander would save Lucien and the others. Was Ethan behind this?
Recalling Bennit's sudden appearance at the engagement party further fueled his anger towards Ethan, almost making him lose the last bit of his rationality.
"Kenny, what should we do with this guy? We can't just let him go, can we?" Magnus asked and looked at Kenny's grim face.
"Let me see who has the guts to detain an active-duty officer?" Before Kenny could answer, a voice suddenly came from a distance.
Everyone turned their heads to see Ethan swaggering over with the three girls.
