Chapter48 Just Good Luck
“It's gone up... It actually went up!”
“This is emerald... Even such a small piece is worth at least a hundred thousand dollars, right?”
Immediately, there was a crowd of onlookers shouting in surprise.
In that instant, Clint's face turned extremely dreadful, as if he had eaten a fly
Reluctantly placing the halves of the ore on the cutting table, Clint coldly snorted. He didn't expect Ethan's luck to be so incredibly good!
Indeed, in his opinion, everything was just Ethan's luck!
However, Ethan didn't pay any attention to Clint. He was only concerned whether his speculation about the bead being able to absorb cool energy from the jades was correct or not.
If that were the case, all he had to do was place his hand on these ores to determine if there was jade in them.
Ethan's disregard made Clint even angrier, as he saw it as Ethan's way of humiliating him!
“How arrogant! He’s just lucky!”
Clint clenched his fist and gritted his teeth.
“Clint, if you dare disrespect my friend again, you’re finished!” Hannah immediately rebuked. She then turned to Ethan and asked, “Can you sell me this ore? I'll pay 200,000 dollars!”
“I'll offer 300,000, so how about selling it to me?” At this moment, a young man suddenly walked out from the crowd, smiling as he asked Ethan.
“Oh, it’s Mr. Bell. Are you also interested in this ore?” Hannah's eyes revealed a hint of wariness when she saw the newcomer.
“I wouldn't say interested. I’m just curious, since jades are quite rare!” Mr. Bell smiled nonchalantly, as if 300,000 dollars was nothing to him.
Hannah fell silent this time. Even though this was a jade, it was too small, and it had been cut in half. It could barely be made into jewelry pendants, hence greatly reducing its value. 200,000 dollars was the highest price she could offer, otherwise, she wouldn’t get any profit.
“This ore is for you.” Right at this moment, Ethan directly stuffed the cut ore into her hand, surprising the whole crowd!
Mr. Bell's smile instantly froze, a hint of malice flashing in his eyes!
This young man had actually ignored him!
With a cold hum, he turned and left.
Clint never expected that Ethan would hand over a jade ore worth at least 200,000 dollars without hesitation, and even gave it to Hannah. This infuriated him.
“How could I accept your ore for free? I'll just write you a check!” Ethan's generosity also surprised Hannah, but she didn't plan to take advantage of it.
“I'm not giving it away for nothing. I'll find you later for a favor, and it's something you can definitely do!”
However, he stopped her with a single sentence.
“...Alright!” Upon hearing this, she stopped resisting.
“I'll go take a look at the other stones.” Ethan said as he walked toward another display of ores.
“Does this bastard think he's a master appraiser just because he got lucky once? He even handed one that costs 200,000-300,000 dollars to Hannah. He must be out of his mind!”
Clint, who was standing with Jovan, muttered sarcastically as they watched Ethan's figure.
“Are you scared this guy will win Hannah over? Don't think I don't know what you're thinking. If you want to win the other party's favor, don't I exist?”
Jovan chuckled skeptically.
Clint immediately smiled and said, “Mr. Foster, watch how I humiliate him later! Rest assured, once it's done, you'll benefit from it!”
“We're on the same team; who else would I help if not you? As long as Hannah still has a brain, she’ll know who to choose!”
Jovan sneered and also walked toward the display of ores.
This time, Ethan tested more than a dozen large-sized stones in one go. These types of ores also had relatively high prices, ranging from several hundred thousand dollars.
Through Ethan's inspection, he discovered that most of them were worthless. Even if some of them contained jadeite, the cool energy was pitifully weak, and they couldn’t compare to the small piece of jade he previously got.
Just as he was about to search elsewhere, he suddenly felt the familiar sensation in his hand again. The last basketball-sized stone on the display emitted a strong cool air fluctuation.
That massive and astonishing aura instantly poured into the bead in his chest, lasting for quite a long time.
Ethan feared that the little bead would break!
At the same time, Jovan had picked a good stone from the pile of stones that Ethan had already inspected.
When Ethan paid $300,000 and was ready to take that large stone for processing, Clint and Jovan looked at him provocatively.
“Alex, it's good that you got lucky just now, but do you really think you're a master? Be careful not to lose all your money!” Clint sarcastically reminded, surprised that Ethan could actually afford to buy a several hundred-thousand-dollar stone.
“I don’t need your concern!” Ethan couldn't be bothered to argue with this fool. He continued with the crucial task of processing the stone.
“Ungrateful!”
Clint's expression darkened, and he promptly placed the large stone Jovan had picked on the cutting table. He said to the craftsman, “Start with this one and let him see.”
“What does it take to be a true master?”
“Since you want to embarrass yourself, I'll give you this opportunity!”
But Ethan wasn't angry. Clint's piece of ore was just one that he had examined and discarded. It was just luck that it had a bit of green in it!
“Sorry, Alex. This piece of ore is important to me. Let's cut it open first. I'll cover the cost of cutting yours later!”
Hannah said apologetically to Ethan, her pretty face filled with nervousness.
This was the stone she’d bought for 800,000 dollars, and it was crucial for the company's development. She couldn't help but feel anxious!
Ethan sighed inwardly. Hannah, this foolish woman, was probably going to be taken advantage of by Clint and that self-righteous old man!
Soon, the stone Jovan selected was cut open, revealing a faint green vein after being washed!
“It's gone up... Just as I said, Mr. Foster is absolutely reliable!”
Clint became even more excited and burst into laughter.
Jovan, on the other hand, was overjoyed and wore an indescribable look of pride on his face.
Seeing this, Hannah instantly breathed a sigh of relief!
“Do you see that? This is what a true master looks like! You’ve got a lot to learn!”
Clint sneered at Ethan with scornful eyes.
“Miss Collins, how about you sell this stone to me for two million dollars?”
“Miss Collins, I'll offer two million four hundred thousand dollars!”
“I'll offer three million dollars!”
The merchants around them immediately voiced their prices, hoping to buy the stone from Hannah.
Although judging by its color, it was just ordinary parrot green, a piece this large could be worth at least five million dollars if they guessed right.
“If you don't want to lose money, you should sell it now while someone is offering a high price!”
Ethan calmly reminded Hannah.
“What do you know? This is just the beginning. What if it contains jade? Miss Collins would lose big time! Don't listen to him, Miss Collins. We need to keep cutting!”
Upon hearing this, Clint immediately taunted with sarcasm.
“Miss Collins, surely you don't believe this kid. Are you doubting even my judgment?”
At this moment, Jovan wore an unhappy expression and snorted.
“When are you going to make the second cut? I have other businesses waiting!”
The cutter urged impatiently with dissatisfaction.
Hannah hesitated at this moment. She had a feeling that Ethan wasn’t one to act on impulse, but this piece of ore was related to the company's future development and raw materials. She had to be cautious!
“Mr. Foster, since you're so confident in your abilities, do you want to bet with me?”
Ethan suddenly laughed and asked Jovan calmly.
