Chapter 304 The Uninvited Guests

After Paul chewed out Jim, Rex asked, "Paul, thanks for looking out for Jim. He's lucky to have you as his mentor. But, what about Gino? Will he be a problem for you?"

Paul shot Rex a cool glance. "It's rare for you to worry about me. Since Jim's my student, I'll train him well. As for Gino, if he comes my way, I'll find a reason to take him out. No one will dare talk behind my back."

"True, but Gino's almost a Grandmaster now and might have a powerful mentor backing him. Don't make an enemy out of him for no reason," Rex said, a bit unsure.

"Don't try to provoke me. I've thought this through. I'm not just doing this for Jim; I've weighed the pros and cons. Even among masters, there's a range of strength. Besides, Gino isn't a disciple of any elder in Celestia Vale. I've got nothing to fear," Paul replied with a cold snort.

Rex felt embarrassed.

"Paul, don't be mad. Rex didn't mean it that way. It's just that Gino's still in the capital, and we need you to go there personally," Jim quickly jumped in to calm things down.

"I came early to avoid complications. A day is enough for a trip to the capital. I'll have a meal with Gino tomorrow. Wait for my news," Paul instructed with a nod.

"Thank you, Paul!" Jim said.

After setting up a quiet room for Paul to rest, Rex left, while Jim stayed close, ready to follow orders.

Caspar wanted to talk to Rex, but he clearly wanted to avoid her, so she intercepted Jim in the hallway.

"Caspar, what's up?" Jim asked, pretending not to know.

"I want to know why all the promising candidates from the Salvador family lost their qualifications in this Selection Meeting. What's going on?" Caspar asked bluntly.

Jim frowned. "Caspar, this has nothing to do with you. Don't worry about it!"

"Don't play dumb with me. Is it related to Gino?" Caspar pressed on.

Jim didn't expect Caspar to have already guessed. Knowing he couldn't hide it any longer, he admitted, "Yes, I convinced Rex to give the spot to Gino. As long as Celestia Vale admits Gino, Dad has agreed to let him return to the Salvador family. Isn't that what you wanted?"

"What? Are you serious?" Caspar was shocked to hear it from Jim.

"What good would it do me to lie to you? If it weren't for Gino, would I risk having Paul take him as a disciple?" Jim retorted.

"So, Dad agreed to let Gino come back home, right?" Caspar felt overwhelmed by the sudden good news.

"Provided he can pass the two-year assessment and successfully become Paul's disciple!" Jim added.

"Then why is Dad still avoiding me?" Caspar asked, still uneasy. She felt things weren't as simple as Jim made them out to be.

"I don't know. Maybe Dad's afraid you'll bug him about Gino again?" Jim shrugged helplessly.

"If what you say is true, will Gino agree to such an arrangement?" Caspar, even if reluctantly accepting Jim's explanation, still had doubts about Gino.

"I've done all I can. What Gino decides is out of my hands! It's useless to keep bugging Dad here. You might as well head back to the capital early and try to persuade Gino before Paul arrives," Jim suggested, a sudden thought crossing his mind.

This way, Caspar and Kenny would leave quickly, sparing Rex the trouble of dealing with them, and it might even yield unexpected results. Given Caspar's nature, she would surely persuade Gino to agree, which would undoubtedly help Jim complete his plan!

"You're right. Book me a flight immediately; I'll take Kenny back to the capital now!" Caspar, realizing the urgency, nodded hastily.

"No problem. Notify Kenny to get ready, and I'll have someone take you to the airport!" Jim, seeing Caspar take the bait, smiled mysteriously.

At that moment, Ethan was busy absorbing the super energy from the Sun and Moon Beads, rapidly increasing his strength. After having breakfast with Chloe and Sarah in the morning, he locked himself in his room, focusing solely on his practice and ignoring everything else.

With the company's affairs managed by others, he was content to be a hands-off boss. However, Ethan's peaceful afternoon practice was abruptly interrupted by an uninvited guest!

Ronald Lewis, dressed in a black robe, appeared in the villa's courtyard with a young man around twenty, Larry Hall. Naturally, Ethan sensed their presence immediately and broke off from his practice.

"Who are you, and why did you barge into my house without ringing the doorbell?" Ethan asked as he stepped out to face the two men.

"Are you Ethan?" Larry looked Ethan up and down with a disdainful gaze and asked in a scornful tone, "Are you the Ethan abandoned by the Wilson family?"

"You know who I am. Where did you come from?" Despite sensing a dangerous aura from Ronald and Larry, especially Ronald, who seemed unfathomable, Ethan retorted sharply to the young man's rude questioning.

"Who do you think you are? You're asking for trouble!" Larry's face turned livid with anger.

Ronald raised a hand to stop the young man, his sharp gaze fixed on Ethan. "I am Ronald, an elder of Celestia Vale. I am here to take you as a registered disciple and have you participate in this year's Selection Meeting."

Ethan was genuinely surprised. He had guessed that Ronald might be a master-level expert, but he hadn't expected him to be from Celestia Vale and here to take him as a disciple!
