Chapter 382 Transformation
Last night, after calling Eric, Ethan was ready to leave anytime.
Just as Gino was heading to the cemetery, Eric called to say Ethan's task was done.
The Salvador family issue went smoothly, so Ethan was in a good mood. He figured Gino could handle the rest, left a note, and took off.
As for the car, it was no big deal between him and Gino.
By dawn, Ethan was already in Everglow City.
He checked his phone; it was 4:30 AM.
Wondering if Angela was still asleep, he called her.
To his surprise, she answered after one ring with her usual cold tone. "Done with your business?"
"Sort of. Why aren't you sleeping?" Ethan asked.
"Meet me at the airport in half an hour!" Angela said curtly and hung up.
"She hung up on me?" Ethan was speechless but headed to the airport.
Half an hour later, he arrived at the terminal.
He had booked the earliest flight to Norway, which was in two hours, so he had time.
Seeing Angela in the terminal, Ethan was stunned by her casual look.
She looked even more striking in casual clothes than in her military uniform!
She lost some of her soldierly aura but gained a noble air, like a proud black swan!
Angela was wearing high heels, making her half a head taller than him!
"What took you so long? I've been waiting forever." Angela's soft, charming voice surprised Ethan.
Ethan's eyes widened, not just because of her tone but also her flower-like smile!
Was this the same Angela from last night?
"What are you standing there for? Did you bring my documents?" Angela's eyes flashed with annoyance. She took his arm and pinched his waist hard.
Ethan winced. "Easy, it hurts! Did I offend you?"
"Stop talking nonsense. We're just pretending!" Angela whispered in his ear.
Feeling her breath, Ethan shivered and quickly pulled her to a bench.
"I think you should go back to your old self. This is weird!" Ethan said, regretting his idea of pretending to be a couple.
This 'horrifying' feeling was unsettling!
If he wasn't careful, Angela might take personal revenge!
Ethan felt like he had created a problem for himself!
"You'll get used to it! Where are the documents?" Angela's smile was sweet, but her voice turned cold.
"I've got someone sending them over. Don't worry, we won't miss the flight," Ethan said, looking frustrated.
Soon, Ethan saw Alexander rushing over.
He came to deliver the passports. Even though he'd seen Angela's photo, he was still stunned in person. He gave Ethan a thumbs-up, making Ethan roll his eyes.
After sending Alexander away, Ethan and Angela started the check-in process.
To Ethan's surprise, Alice showed up at the security checkpoint!
"Ethan, who's this lady? How dare you take another woman to Norway without telling us?" Alice, a blonde beauty, asked suddenly.
"What are you doing here?" Ethan's eyes widened.
"Don't forget, I brought Alexander and the others back. Of course, I came with him!" Alice said proudly.
"I get it. Eric must've told you I was going to Norway, right?" Ethan realized Eric, eager to see his daughter, must've informed Alice. Naturally, Alice followed!
Since Ethan had to book tickets and get documents through Alexander, he couldn't escape Alice's notice.
"You haven't answered my question. Is this lady another one of your close female friends?" Alice's eyes stayed on Angela, sensing she was a formidable rival.
Even though Angela's grip on Ethan's arm seemed stiff and her smile fake, Angela was undeniably beautiful.
As Vexa would say, no man could resist a beautiful woman!
"Ethan, who is she?" Angela tightened her grip on Ethan's arm and asked sweetly.
"I'll explain on the plane. Let me talk to her first. You go through security," Ethan said, breaking free from Angela and pulling Alice aside.
Angela watched thoughtfully, noticing many people staring at her, so she went through security alone.
"You didn't tell Sarah and Chloe I'm going to Norway, did you?" Ethan asked Alice once they were alone.
"I wasn't going to, but with that woman around, I think they should know if their man is being taken away!" Alice pouted.
"Alice, don't complicate things. I planned to tell you once I got to Norway, but Eric was too eager! I just met that woman last night. We have to go to Norway for a task. It's all business, not what you think!" Ethan explained seriously.
"Are you telling the truth?" Alice looked skeptical.
"Why would I lie? Otherwise, why do you think I'm suddenly going to Norway? Since you're here, let's go together. It'll save us some trouble," Ethan said with a bitter smile.
"Why were you two so close, like a couple? You and I have never been that close!" Alice's jealousy was clear.
"That was just for the task. Don't be fooled by her looks; she's actually an ice queen. You're much cuter! Please don't be jealous, okay?" Ethan said helplessly.
