Chapter 668 Threatening Call

"This matter is beyond your help and has nothing to do with you. Remember, don't tell anyone. We'll handle it ourselves!" Ethan sternly instructed Marco.

"But with such a big incident, the news will definitely spread. Not to mention here, Uncle Lorenzo's workplace will surely investigate!" Marco reminded anxiously.

"Just don't make things worse. This is not something you can handle!"

Ethan, not wanting to explain further, left the surveillance room with a still-distraught Angela.

"Ethan, what do we do now? I can't let anything happen to my parents!" Angela clutched Ethan's hand tightly, pleading earnestly.

"Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to them!" Ethan assured firmly.

Meanwhile, in a remote area near the outskirts of Everglow City, the unconscious Cynthia and Lorenzo lay on a patch of grass.

There were no visible injuries or signs of restraint on them.

Standing nearby was a young man, playing with a golden orb in his hand, a mischievous smile on his face.

With a casual wave of his hand, two green beams of light enveloped Cynthia and Lorenzo.

As the green light dissipated, the two, who had been unconscious, slowly began to wake up.

"Where is this? How did I fall asleep? Lorenzo, why are you here too?"

Seeing the desolate surroundings, the newly awakened Cynthia was startled and noticed Lorenzo lying beside her.

"I don't know! I remember being in the lab, how did I end up here?" Lorenzo was equally confused, then noticed the young man standing not far from them.

"Who are you?" Cynthia followed Lorenzo's surprised gaze and immediately questioned the young man.

"Don't be afraid, I brought you here." The young man explained calmly.

"Who are you? Is this how you invite people?" Lorenzo stood up angrily, pointing at the young man, "Do you know this is a crime?"

"It's not that serious. I just need your cooperation and have no intention of harming you. My name is Winford Beckett." Winford smiled and shook his head.

"We don't know you. What do you want from us?" Lorenzo asked suspiciously, shielding the still-frightened Cynthia behind him.

His intuition told him that Winford was either targeting Angela or Ethan, and that this person was extremely dangerous.

"You don't know me, but I know you. You don't need to ask so many questions. Just stay here quietly, and you'll be home safe by tonight." Winford reminded with a smile.

"Crazy! We don't have time for your nonsense!" Lorenzo snorted coldly, pulling Cynthia to leave.

"Why can't you understand when I try to reason with you?" Winford sighed helplessly, and with a wave of his hand, a green light shield enveloped the couple.

Lorenzo and Cynthia's expressions changed instantly. They tried to touch the transparent shield, only to find it as hard as iron.

It was like a prison cell had been built around them, making escape impossible.

"What do you want?" Lorenzo glared at Winford and demanded.

"If you won't cooperate, I have no choice but to do this." Winford shrugged helplessly, then pulled out a phone.

"That's my phone! What are you doing? Give it back!" Cynthia recognized her phone immediately and shouted in panic.

"Don't worry. Your family must be worried sick about your disappearance. They might be searching everywhere for you. I'll call them to let them know you're safe." Winford smiled lightly and dialed a number in front of them.

Cynthia and Lorenzo understood that they were being used to threaten Angela or Ethan, and they couldn't just comply.

But with their movements restricted, they couldn't stop Winford and could only curse him from within the shield.

Winford remained calm, casting another spell that silenced their curses, leaving them mouthing words in anger without any sound.

Meanwhile, Angela, who had suddenly received a call from Cynthia, looked excited.

She exchanged a glance with Ethan, who encouraged her with his eyes, and then took a deep breath before answering the call.

"Ethan should be with you. Let him take the call." As soon as the call connected, Winford's voice came through.

Angela looked at Ethan, who took the phone from her.

"Who are you?" Ethan asked directly.

"I'm Winford. You don't know me, but you should know they are with me. Do you want to save them?" Winford asked with a chuckle.

"If you harm them, you'll regret ever coming into this world!" Ethan warned coldly.

"Relax, they're fine. They even have the energy to curse at me! I haven't touched them, so I think I've shown enough sincerity." Winford laughed indifferently.

"State your terms," Ethan said straightforwardly.

"Good. I want you to come to Starlight Peak alone. Remember, only you. Don't try any tricks." Winford stated his condition.

"Alright, I'll be there soon." Ethan agreed, then heard the busy tone as Winford hung up.

"Ethan, I'm going with you!" Angela, having heard the conversation, immediately grabbed Ethan's hand and pleaded.

"You heard him. He wants me to go alone. You can't help by go." Ethan reminded Angela helplessly.

Angela's face turned grim, but she knew that if she went, she might become a burden to Ethan.

Originally, Ethan only needed to save two people. If she went, it would be three.

After a moment of silence, Angela released Ethan's hand and asked softly. "Are you confident?"

"Don't worry, I'll bring your parents back safely. Just wait for us at home." Ethan nodded and smiled, though he felt uncertain inside.

His intuition told him that Winford was very strong, and with Cynthia and Lorenzo as hostages, the chances of a successful rescue seemed slim.

"No matter what, you must protect yourself! You all have to come back safely!" Angela reminded worriedly.

"Don't worry, we'll all come back. Wait for me at home." Ethan promised, then left the house under Angela's watchful eyes.
