Chapter 492 Voices of Opposition
However, Howard and Elmer ignored Zephyr at the moment. The former's new disciple, Eli, had been crippled by Elmer. As an elder of Celestia Vale, Howard had to do something.
"Since you admit it was you, shouldn't you give me an explanation?" Howard squinted his eyes and asked in a low tone.
"What explanation do you want? How about we have a fight?" Elmer chuckled indifferently. Howard's strength was comparable to his, and even if they fought, he might not lose.
"Do you think I don't dare?" Howard's face immediately darkened.
Elmer looked around and suggested calmly, "Alright, but this isn't the place for a fight. Let's find a quieter spot to avoid involving innocent people."
"As you wish," Howard gritted his teeth and snorted coldly.
Then, Elmer and Howard swiftly headed towards the mountains on the side of Wilson Villa, disappearing completely within a few breaths.
The whole place erupted in chaos. No one expected Elmer to actually fight Howard. This was a battle between two master-level figures; things had escalated too much.
At this moment, Dorian suddenly appeared beside Ethan and asked softly, "Do you need my help?"
"No. Elmer should be able to handle it. At worst, he can kill that elder. Anyway, I don't like the people of Celestia Vale! Isn't it better for you to stay here and watch the show?" Ethan chuckled indifferently.
"Brady, there's no need to argue anymore. The facts are clear now. If Ethan really had that ability, what would be his purpose for doing all this? If he truly had that power, wouldn't it be more straightforward for him to just kill us?" Zephyr had snapped out of his confusion. If he had been swayed by Brady's words before, he was now completely convinced because if Ethan had done all this, Howard wouldn't have any reason to trouble Elmer, let alone engage in a big fight.
Zephyr's questioning left Brady speechless. He realized he had been framed.
Everyone in the Wilson family stared at Brady in shock. Even the elders of the council showed signs of hesitation.
"Brady, was it really you?" Herman asked softly
Brady almost couldn't resist beating Herman up. This was obviously a setup; he even bothered to ask that.
"Ethan, you indeed have some tricks." Taking a deep breath, Brady's gaze turned back to Ethan.
"Compared to you, it's nothing." Ethan chuckled.
"The truth of this matter is clear to both of us. I've shown much sincerity. Why do you still cling to me?" Brady questioned, gritting his teeth.
"The sincerity you speak of, does it include planting so many spies in the Shadow Gang? You must have spent a lot of effort on Eli, right?" Ethan chuckled indifferently.
"Yes, Eli is indeed my spy. So what? As the Great Elder of the council, I also have the right to oversee the Shadow Gang." Brady knew there was no point in arguing about Eli's identity anymore. Since Elmer had found him out, he must have solid evidence. Denying it would be useless.
"Good, as long as you admit it. You do have the right to oversee the Shadow Gang, but isn't your method a bit inappropriate?" Ethan asked, his expression gradually growing serious.
"What do you want?" Brady suppressed his anger and asked in a deep voice.
"I just want to see if my words as the head of the Wilson family still have an effect. Herman, according to the rules of the Wilson family, how should we deal with an elder attempting to infiltrate and control the Shadow Gang?" Ethan sneered and turned to ask.
One of Brady's followers was startled by Ethan's stern question. It seemed Ethan was ready to hold Brady accountable, clearly intending to tear off the facade in public.
"You've got quite the nerve, dealing with me right after taking office?" Brady, on the other hand, calmed down and stared at Ethan expressionlessly.
"Just addressing the matter at hand. Eli is your spy; you admitted it. Are you trying to deny it?" Ethan sneered indifferently.
"Can we wait until the ceremony is over to handle this? There are so many people here; let's not make the Wilson family a laughingstock," Brady suggested.
"Now that I'm in charge of the Wilson family, who dares to laugh at us?" Ethan sneered and turned to look at Munro and the others who were watching the commotion.
"The Miller family and the Harris family fully support Ethan," Munro and Clarence said loudly, clearly speaking for all the Wilson family members to hear.
"The Ashford family also fully supports any decision Ethan makes," Dorian chimed in.
The three major families, besides the Wilson family, all supported Ethan.
"The question I just asked you, you can answer it now. My patience is limited; don't test my limits," Ethan warned with a hostile expression.
"Well..."
"If you don't speak, I'll assume you're involved in this too, and I'll count you in," Ethan warned coldly.
"Handle it as you want. Whatever you decide, I accept," Brady chuckled lightly, as if he had seen through everything.
"That won't do. I'm a stickler for rules, and as the head of the Wilson family, I need everyone to be convinced, so no one can say I'm abusing my power," Ethan sneered indifferently.
"According to the Wilson family rules, an elder attempting to infiltrate and control the Shadow Gang should be expelled from the council and..." Brady's follower hesitated and glanced at Brady.
"No worries. Since you've started, finish it!" Brady smiled nonchalantly.
"And never allowed to set foot in the Wilson Villa again," Brady's follower completed the sentence.
Ethan burst into laughter and pointed at Brady, mocking him without reservation, "You were the one who expelled me from the Wilson family before. Now the tables have turned. Should I follow the family rules and expel you completely from the Wilson family?"
"It doesn't matter. Without me, you can rule the Wilson family unchallenged. Congratulations." Brady shook his head and smiled indifferently.
The Wilson family members were dumbfounded. No one expected things to escalate to this point, where even Brady, the Great Elder, would be expelled by the newly appointed head, Ethan.
At this moment, Micah suddenly stood up and shouted, "I disagree."
"Yes, we disagree too. How can the Great Elder be dismissed so easily? Ethan, you're ungrateful. We don't accept you as the head of the family," Following that, a large group of branch family leaders stood beside Micah, angrily rebuking Ethan.
Soon, almost half of the branch families stood on Brady's side, all opposing Ethan's decision to expel him.
"Brady indeed has some tricks up his sleeve, a bit beyond my expectations." Ethan squinted as he saw half of the branch families siding with Brady. This situation was indeed unexpected; Brady had hidden his cards well.
