Chapter 550 Angela's Anger

Ethan was totally floored by what he just heard. Man, Norman was really pulling out all the stops to hype him up, even spilling the beans about his master level status to Lorenzo.

Honestly, titles like head of the Wilson family or CEO? They ain't got nothing on being a master level. Especially since Ethan was just a young buck, hitting master level in his twenties. He was probably the first of his kind these days.

In today's scene, hitting master level by forty was already considered genius. Even Trevor, who used to be neck and neck with Ethan, was now eating his dust.

But with Celestia Vale and his mentor Raymond backing Trevor, it wouldn't be long before he hit master level too.

Thinking about it, Ethan grinned and nodded, saying, "Yeah, I'm a master level, but it's not that big a deal. Dorian, the head of the Ashford family in Everglow, is also a master level."

"That's different. I've never met someone so young at the master level before. Dorian's pushing fifty, right? Talent-wise and future potential, you're way ahead," Lorenzo gushed, laying it on thick.

Ethan was momentarily speechless, feeling a bit awkward from all the praise.

Meanwhile, Angela got dragged into the kitchen by Cynthia, who then whispered, "How long have you two been an item?"

"What do you mean how long?" Angela was caught off guard and shot back instinctively.

Cynthia clarified, "I mean, how far have you two gone? Have you, you know, done the deed?"

"Nothing's happened between us. Can you stop stressing?" Angela, both embarrassed and anxious, snapped at Cynthia, looking exasperated.

"I'm just looking out for you. How is that stressing? I'm still hoping to hold a grandchild," Cynthia retorted, giving Angela a stern look and lecturing her.

"Seriously, nothing's happened between us, and..." Angela almost let slip that Ethan had four wives.

"And what?" Cynthia pressed, sensing Angela's hesitation.

"And we've only met a few times. Why are you in such a rush? Afraid I won't get hitched?" Angela instinctively changed her tune.

"Exactly. I am afraid you won't get married. Now, go keep Ethan company. I'll make some tea and be right out," Cynthia said seriously, then shooed Angela out of the kitchen.

Angela then realized bringing Ethan home might've been a bad move. Her status at home seemed to have been instantly overshadowed by Ethan. At least for Cynthia, who was eager to marry Angela off, Ethan was probably more important than her.

"Ethan, how old are you? Got any family?" In the living room, Lorenzo kept grilling Ethan about his background.

"I'm twenty-eight this year. I still live with my mom and..." Ethan started, but Angela suddenly appeared and cut him off.

"Dad, you're asking too much," Angela complained to Lorenzo, giving Ethan a look that screamed, "Don't spill too much."

Ethan was speechless. Honestly, it was better to clear things up early. Since Lorenzo had just asked about his family, he planned to be upfront, but Angela interrupted him again.

"Ethan, have some tea," Cynthia said, handing him a cup with a smile.

Ethan took it politely and thanked her. Honestly, ever since he had Raymond's tea last time, he had this weird fear that one sip would make him level up instantly.

"So, you two aren't getting any younger. When's the wedding?" Cynthia cut straight to the chase, almost making Ethan choke on his tea.

"My situation's kinda complicated, so marriage is off the table for now," Ethan said, glancing at Angela and sighing.

Lorenzo and Cynthia exchanged worried looks, frowning.

Angela's heart skipped a beat. She silently cursed Ethan for not sugarcoating things a bit for her parents.

"Is there a problem? Our family doesn't have many requirements for marriage. You don't need to..." Cynthia started, looking concerned.

"No, it's not that. I might as well be upfront. I actually have four wives. I was gonna say it earlier," Ethan said, ignoring Angela's frantic signals and spilling the beans in one go.

Lorenzo and Cynthia were stunned, the room falling into an awkward silence.

"Come with me," Angela said, grabbing Ethan's arm and dragging him outside into the yard.

"You just got here, and you're already dropping truth bombs?" Angela glared at him, fuming.

"This is the reality. I don't think it should be hidden from your parents. They'll find out sooner or later," Ethan sighed.

"Do you think I don't get that? Do you really think I want to be with you? I just don't want my parents to be disappointed for nothing," Angela snapped, frustrated.

"If you want to blame someone, blame Norman," Ethan said innocently. If Norman hadn't spilled the beans to Lorenzo and Cynthia, he wouldn't have had to reveal everything so soon.

Angela was momentarily speechless. Besides Norman, she was also to blame for bringing Ethan home.

"Things are what they are. Judging by your parents' faces, they probably can't accept me. Should I leave?" Ethan asked, seeing Angela's aggrieved look.

"Ethan, are you even a man?" Angela glared at him, angry.

"What do you mean?" Ethan was puzzled.

"You think you can just leave like that? What about me? How do I face my parents? Should I tell them I willingly brought you home, knowing you have wives, and introduced you as my boyfriend?" Angela asked, disappointed.

Ethan fell silent. He hadn't thought that far and suddenly realized his way of handling the situation might indeed be problematic.

"Should I explain to them that it's all Norman's fault?" Ethan suggested tentatively.

"Don't push the blame on others. Haven't you ever liked me? Why did you keep flirting with me and taking advantage of me? Do you think I'm that easy to fool?" Angela asked, her eyes filled with resentment.

Ethan was speechless. This was the first time he had seen Angela so straightforward and emotional about their relationship. Seeing Angela's reddening eyes, he suddenly felt he had indeed messed up.
