Seeing Hugo's fearless attitude, Dirk hesitated. The calmer and more confident Hugo seemed, the more on edge Dirk got.
"Why do you think I won't kill you? Got backup hiding somewhere? If you're here, show yourselves!" Dirk squinted, trying to sense any other strong presence, but found nothing, which only confused him more.
"Dirk, recognize this?" Hugo chuckled and pulled something out of his pocket. When Dirk saw the Cross Christianity token in Hugo's hand, his face changed instantly.
"You're with Cross Christianity!" Dirk's expression turned grim.
"No wonder you're the leader of the ML Guild; you do have some insight!" Hugo laughed, clearly pleased with Dirk's reaction.
"Did you hear some nonsense about treasures on Vast Mountain and come running?" Dirk tried to stay calm, squinting his eyes and asking indifferently.
"Dirk, let's cut to the chase. I don't know about any treasures, but I do know a Moonhowl is supposed to show up tonight!" Hugo said proudly.
"You knew all along!" Dirk's heart sank; he didn't expect Hugo to know about the Moonhowl.
"That's right. I'm here for the Moonhowl. Just let me take it and go!" Hugo shamelessly negotiated.
"Are you kidding me? You think I'd just hand over the Moonhowl to you?" Dirk laughed angrily.
"Whether you agree or not, the result will be the same!" Hugo chuckled, acting like he had already won.
Dirk was furious. At this point, he didn't care if Hugo was from Cross Christianity. Even though he was wary of them, he couldn't afford to lose the Moonhowl.
Just as Dirk was about to attack Hugo, the entire mountain suddenly shook. The sudden change startled both Dirk and Hugo, and everyone fighting at the foot of the mountain stopped, looking around in confusion.
"The Moonhowl has appeared! Activate the Magic Circle!" Dirk shouted, sending a signal with one hand and holding a black diamond in the other, flying towards the source of the commotion. Hugo's face darkened, and he chased after Dirk towards the chaotic area at the mountain top.
