Chapter 299 Pleading for Mercy
Andrew tried to struggle but found it all in vain. Apart from his mouth, which could still speak and move, even his neck couldn't budge an inch. He immediately admitted his mistakes and surrendered to Ethan.
"Why did you act that way in the first place? When I tried to talk to you nicely just now, you weren't so agreeable." Ethan sighed helplessly, feeling a mix of frustration and amusement.
In reality, the Sun and Moon Beads had already slipped from his control. Even if he wanted to release Andrew now, he couldn't.
"Yes, it's all my fault. Please don't hold it against me. I promise to leave Nova York immediately and never appear before you again!" Feeling the two mysterious beads beginning to devour his demonic energy, a wave of despair surged in Andrew's heart. Terrified, he pleaded with Ethan once more.
"Sorry, but it's too late now. It's better to get rid of your demonic energy quickly, which would also be a relief for you!" Ethan naturally couldn't admit that he had lost control of the Sun and Moon Beads. He could only go along with the situation, continuing to put on a show.
"No, you can't do this to me." Andrew couldn't believe that he had lost to two seemingly insignificant beads before even truly fighting Ethan.
"Now, can you tell me who taught you sorcery? Where is he?" Ethan raised an eyebrow and asked, seizing the opportunity to inquire further.
"He's not in Nova York, but he'll be back in a few days. If he finds out how you've treated me, you're dead! Let me go!" Andrew, still unwilling to give up, loudly threatened Ethan.
"It's too late for you to beg for mercy now! This is your own doing. I didn't come to fight you in the first place. If you had transferred the ownership of the Johnson Group building to me earlier, none of this would have happened." Ethan shook his head helplessly. Although the Sun and Moon Beads were out of his control, he could still sense their excitement, like greedy children continuously absorbing Andrew's demonic energy at an increasing speed.
Andrew screamed and shouted, sometimes pleading and sometimes cursing. However, the beads' absorption of his demonic energy did not slow down; instead, it accelerated as if they intended to drain him completely.
Andrew was utterly terrified this time, but there was nothing he could do.
Gabriella and Sharon hadn't expected the situation to take such a dramatic turn. They stared wide-eyed, utterly shocked by the scene before them.
"What on earth is happening? Am I dreaming?" Gabriella stared at the two magical beads and the black demonic energy surrounding Andrew. This unbelievable scene, which seemed like something out of a movie, was happening right before her eyes in reality!
"So, we were never from the same world after all!" Sharon seemed to suddenly understand something, staring at Ethan but remaining silent for a long while.
It wasn't until several minutes later, when the demonic energy around Andrew grew fainter and finally disappeared, that the two beads quieted down, floating silently in mid-air as if digesting a hearty meal.
As for Andrew, with his demonic energy drained, he had reverted to the appearance of an ordinary person. He collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
"Mr. Wilson, what on earth is going on here?" Greg, who knew Andrew's terrifying power better than Gabriella and Sharon, was astonished to see Ethan deal with him so easily and in such an unprecedented manner!
Greg pondered, 'What are those two beads? They must be some rare treasure!'
"Greg, I hope you won't speak of today's events to anyone. Keep it to yourself!" Ethan frowned and instructed Greg calmly.
"I understand. I will keep it a secret!" Greg's heart skipped a beat. He realized he shouldn't ask any more questions, so he quickly bowed his head and promised.
"This guy is like a ticking time bomb. I only drained his demonic energy. Unless we kill him outright, it won't be long before he can cultivate it back," Ethan then looked at the unconscious Andrew on the ground and reminded Greg once more.
"What do you want to do with this guy?" Greg asked hesitantly.
"He won't be a threat for now. Have someone lock him up in a secure place and make sure he completes the property transfer procedures. Give him every penny he's owed," Ethan instructed calmly.
"It's best to kill him as soon as possible to avoid future troubles. You said yourself he's a ticking time bomb. Aren't you afraid he'll cause more harm later?" Greg was surprised at how lenient Ethan was being and voiced his concern.
"Have you forgotten he has someone to back him? That mysterious man might come to Nova York as soon as tomorrow. Until we figure out the identity of that mysterious person, we absolutely cannot kill him!" Ethan reminded sternly, his tone leaving no room for argument.
"I understand. I'll send someone to take Andrew away immediately!" Greg responded respectfully upon hearing this.
After today's events, Greg was thoroughly convinced of Ethan's capabilities. How could he dare to defy him? Moreover, if he told others what had happened today, he would be done for!
"You two should stay away from people like him in the future. Seeking revenge on me isn't worth degrading yourselves by consorting with demons!" Ethan then turned to Gabriella and Sharon, giving them a gentle reminder.
Gabriella and Sharon, hearing this, stared at Ethan with complex expressions, remaining silent.
"Don't stay at Andrew's place either. Leave quickly!" As Gabriella and Sharon were still in a daze, Ethan reminded them once more with a hint of exasperation.
