Chapter 629 Dirk Back Down
Ethan and Dirk both looked up, their faces blank as they took in the scene. On the boulder, Orla's aura was going wild under the golden moonlight.
She was merely at the Adolescent Stage, but her aura was rapidly progressing to the Mature Stage, resembling that of a grandmaster, almost instantly. Orla, who had just hit the Mature Stage with a shaky aura, finally had her surging energy come to a stop.
"This is nuts! The full moon can level her up this fast?" Ethan was floored. At this rate, Orla wouldn't even need to train. She could just level up every full moon night, no sweat.
"This is her first evolution since waking up from the seal. Her original power is way beyond what you can imagine. Right now, she's only got a small part of it back!" Angel's voice echoed in Ethan's mind.
"By the way, you said Orla's your divine beast. How do you know that? Did you get your memory back?" Ethan finally voiced his doubts.
"No, it's because of the contract power between us that I know she's my divine beast. Remember I told you I sensed a familiar aura here? That was when I felt her presence!" Angel explained slowly.
"Contract power! So, she calls me master because she sensed the contract power from me and thought I was you?" Ethan's expression turned weird.
He'd be lying if he said he wasn't a bit bummed and confused. Even if Orla had a bad memory, she should be able to tell if her master was male or female.
"She probably has memory loss from damage to her divine sense. As she gets her original power back, her memory should come back too." Angel guessed.
"Should I explain it to her, or maybe you could use your divine sense to talk to her and let her know what's up?" Ethan, though a bit jealous, wasn't about to fight Angel for Orla.
Besides, Angel's divine beast seemed no different from his own for now. They were all on the same team. He heard that Orla could evolve into a human form and wondered if she should be considered human or beast.
While Ethan was still chatting with Angel, Dirk took the chance to quietly slip away. Orla had already hit the grandmaster level, so he was no match for them anymore.
"Dirk, don't be in such a hurry to leave. We still have unfinished business!" Ethan let out a cold snort.
Before Dirk could get far, his path was blocked. Kenneth, along with Patricia and Deborah, stood there with unfriendly looks, staring at Dirk.
Although Kenneth hadn't shown himself earlier, he had been keeping an eye on the situation at the mountaintop. He hadn't been able to help with Kirk earlier, but now was a good chance to show his strength.
"Grandmaster?" The sudden appearance of Kenneth freaked Dirk out so much that he stopped dead in his tracks in mid-air.
"If you keep running, I'll slap you back!" Kenneth said, staring at Dirk with a mocking grin.
At that moment, Orla, radiating a powerful aura, appeared beside Ethan, looking indifferent, like she didn't care about anything except Ethan.
"Orla, can you tone down your aura for now?" Ethan touched his nose, feeling a bit frustrated. Having such a divine beast by his side was definitely cool, but it also made him look like a weakling.
The oppressive feeling from her aura was way stronger than that of a human grandmaster, making Ethan feel uncomfortable. More importantly, he didn't want Orla to reveal too much. Orla didn't say anything but instantly restrained her aura, turning into an ordinary white wolf.
"Ethan, do you really think this initial grandmaster can hold me? Don't forget, I have the power of the Magic Circle!" Dirk forced himself to stay calm, but he was freaking out inside.
With the Magic Circle's support, he could indeed exert the power of an initial grandmaster in the Vast Mountain. But Ethan and Orla were also there. And once he left the Vast Mountain, he would be toast.
"What you rely on is just the Magic Circle. Do you really think I can't do anything to you? In that case, I'll destroy your biggest crutch and see what else you have to back up your tough talk!" Ethan sneered, and the Sun and Moon Beads in front of him started spinning wildly under his control.
Breaking the Magic Circle was a piece of cake for the Sun and Moon Beads. Last time, Ethan broke two Magic Circles outside the SA Guild's secret realm, and the Magic Circle here wasn't as strong as those.
In no time, the Sun and Moon Beads, using their energy absorption power, successfully located and locked onto the energy crystal at the Core of the Magic Circle.
Ethan leaped to the mountaintop where the red crystal was placed and grabbed it in his hand. The prohibitive power over the entire Vast Mountain vanished instantly, like it had never existed.
Dirk's face turned ghostly pale. Even Patricia and Deborah were shocked to see Ethan find the Core of the Magic Circle's crystal so easily. It was their first time seeing such a simple and brutal way of breaking a Magic Circle.
If Ethan could break this easily, they guessed the Ladies Guild's Magic Circle had little resistance against him. Unlike Patricia and the others, Kenneth, who had already seen Ethan's abilities, wasn't surprised.
"Well, I've got three crystals now. Dirk, you placed four more on the surrounding mountains, right? The ML Guild is indeed wealthy and confident. I'll collect all of them!" Ethan looked at the crystal in his hand and smiled at Dirk.
Ethan planned to collect all these crystals and use them to set up a few defensive Magic Circles for his sect or home in the future.
