Chapter 321 Fists or Money
Dorian was pissed, but Ethan's words left him feeling kinda stuck.
Dorian wasn't scared of Ethan; he could squash him like a bug. But he had bigger things to think about and had to weigh his options.
Ethan finally took off for Novaria. If he went back to the capital, it would stir up more trouble. Even if Dorian killed him, it would mess up his plans.
Dorian had it all figured out. Whether Jessie found what he needed in a month or not, Ethan had a month. After that, Ethan was a goner.
After cooling off, Dorian called Ignatius again.
"Dorian, what's up now?" Ignatius sounded a bit confused.
"The guy you nabbed works for Ethan, and that stash belongs to him," Dorian said.
"Ethan? Small world! Even in Emerald Vein, we bump into his people! How'd you find out?" Ignatius asked, surprised.
"He called me, said you grabbed his guys! He knows you're in Emerald Vein. We slipped up; you should've used an alias!" Dorian said, frustrated.
"So, he's in Emerald Vein too? Should we just take him out?" Ignatius suggested, thinking of a quick fix.
"No rush. We need Jessie calm. Until we get what we need, Ethan stays alive. It's just a month. Hold off!" Dorian shot down the idea.
"Fine, but we should at least mess with him a bit. Could be fun!" Ignatius said with a sly grin.
"Don't push it. Not this month. I don't want him back in the capital!" Dorian said and hung up.
In Emerald Vein, Ignatius and some Ashford family experts were chilling in an old factory.
Eight container trucks were parked outside, ready to roll after a break.
Hannah was tied to a pillar, gagged with a black cloth, only able to make muffled protests while struggling.
"What a twist. Didn't think you'd be working for Ethan. Tough luck for you!" Ignatius said, grabbing her chin with a grin.
Hannah's eyes widened in shock, not expecting these kidnappers to be linked to Ethan.
She thought, 'Are they after Ethan?'
"Ignatius, what do we do with her?" A subordinate asked, eyeing her greedily.
"You like her?" Ignatius's grin widened as he looked at the guy.
"Just seems like a waste to kill or let her go. We've been at it all night; could use some fun!" The subordinate said with a sleazy smile.
Hannah shook her head frantically, but it was no use. Despair started to creep in.
"I'm afraid you'll have your fun tonight and be dead by morning! None of you touch her!" Ignatius laughed, shaking his head.
Hannah let out a sigh of relief, while the subordinate looked bummed.
"Go find me some local thugs," Ignatius whispered to the subordinate.
The guy looked surprised but quickly got excited and nodded.
Ignatius gave Hannah one last look and then yelled to his crew, "Get ready. We're moving out soon!"
With Ethan in Emerald Vein, Ignatius needed to get the goods out fast to avoid any mess.
He left two guys to watch Hannah and led the convoy towards the capital overnight.
Meanwhile, Ethan was chatting with Beckett and the raw stone wholesaler.
When they got to the warehouse, the cops had already left after their initial check. The company's people swarmed them as soon as they arrived.
"What are you doing? The police said they're still investigating. This is illegal. Want me to call them back?" Beckett warned, seeing them surrounded by dozens of people.
"Beckett, we're old friends. You owe us an explanation. Why were my guys knocked out while yours vanished? Who'd believe this has nothing to do with you?"
Rodolfo Knight stepped out from the crowd. Bald, with gold chains around his neck and wrists, he was clearly the boss.
These local raw stone wholesalers in Emerald Vein often had bigger bosses behind them, nastier than some criminal gangs.
"How can you be so unreasonable? The missing person is Miss Collins, and how could we have taken so many raw stones? Before the police finish their investigation, you better calm down to avoid ruining our relationship!" Beckett tried to reason.
Ethan saw through it. These guys were once in an underworld group and might still be. When it came to interests, reason went out the window.
"Forget it, Beckett. Talking to them is pointless!" Ethan stopped Beckett and pulled him back.
"Looks like someone sensible here. You look new." Rodolfo frowned at Ethan.
"They're all my people, and this batch of goods is mine. I don't have time to chat; I'm in a hurry to find my people!" Ethan said bluntly.
"So you're the real boss and so young too! But on my turf, you dare talk to me like that? Don't you know how to behave?" Rodolfo's face darkened.
"Behave? Don't you always use fists and money to talk?" Ethan chuckled.
"So, are you gonna use fists or money?" Rodolfo squinted, asking menacingly.
