Chapter 18 Apology
At the Thomas family's old mansion.
The Thomas family were gathered here at this very time.
The Listening's situation kept getting worse, which led to a sharp decline in the Thomas family's shares. This made the Thomas family quite nervous about this, but they didn't know what to do.
"Sharon, you said you were going to figure things out, right?"
"Has the issue been fixed? Why are things still like this?" Aunt Thomas asked.
"Yes, I've taken care of it. We'll soon be working with Cloud Group again, and The Listening will soon get better. All it takes is some time, so why are you so anxious?"
Speaking slowly yet confidently, Sharon took a drink of her tea while maintaining a composed expression.
She had paid a price with her own body, and Boss Sam intervened. She did not believe that the Cloud Group would stubbornly cut off cooperation with The Listening.
The Thomas family was glad to see Sharon's attitude as well.
Just then, Sharon’s secretary abruptly announced to her as she walked over holding a phone, "Boss, something bad happened! This morning, we received calls from a large number of companies asking to end cooperation with us, along with all of the Thomas Group's firms! Moreover, some of our long-time partners are even ready to pay hefty fines rather than continue working with us! What do we do, Boss?"
"What?! How's this possible?" Sharon abruptly sprang to her feet, her face turning pale.
"It appears... that the Cloud Group is to blame! I heard them announce that Thomas Group must perish. Our partners stated that dealing with a bankrupt company is unnecessary. Boss, I... I want to quit as well." With nervousness, the young secretary murmured.
Sharon's body trembled, her face going pale as she nearly lost her balance.
How is this possible?
At the time, Jayden and Boss Sam promised to assist her; why hasn't the situation changed since then? Rather, it dragged the entire Thomas Group in.
"What's going on, Sharon? You said you handled it, so why did this happen?"
"I don't believe you fixed it; you just made it worse!”
“Sharon, what have you done? Are you trying to ruin the Thomas family?”
After a while, one angry Thomas family member after another reproached Sharon.
"I... I really don't know..." Biting her lip, Sharon was deeply hurt.
It was obvious she had paid a physical price, so why?
"Sharon, The Listening is in such terrible shape, and you just sit around doing nothing."
At that time, Ella went forward and said coldly. She was viewed as a half-Thomas, and Beverly's repression had affected her greatly as well.
"It didn't matter who you begged or pursued; everything you did was useless. Ethan is the only person you can beg now. If you don't do it, there'll be no way out."
She was no longer receiving funding from the company, and if things kept up this way, she would soon find herself as a sidelined artist!
"What is Sharon even doing? I told you to beg Ethan, didn't I? Did you simply disregard what I said? Make a quick phone call to him and give him a sincere apology! Plead him to spare our family! If not, you can leave the family as soon as possible! Both you and your mother aren't permitted to enter the ancestral hall!"
Uncle Thomas gave an angry warning, his rage unrivaled.
"What?!"
At this, Sharon and Gabriella shuddered.
Will they actually expel the two of them from the Thomas household?
In addition to losing their job and becoming homeless if they were actually banished, they would also lose respect and turn into Novaria's laughingstock!
"Don't, please! I'll have Sharon apologize right now!" In a panic, Gabriella grabbed Sharon and told her, "Sharon, get moving and contact Ethan right away! Ask him forgive us! Otherwise, what will we do if Thomas Group files for bankruptcy?"

"We have to do it, whether it works or not." Uncle Thomas stated coldly, "That's the only way our family, especially you two, can survive."
"Our Thomas family, especially you two, will publicly apologize and self-reflect in front of Ethan when I welcome him here. I'm going to give him a call and invite him over!"
Afterward, Uncle Thomas gave Gabriella and Sharon a stern look, his tone leaving no room for speculation. He picked up the phone and gave Ethan a call right away.
When Ethan saw who was calling, he thought for a second before responding, "What's the matter?"
"This is the thing, Mr. Wilson. We, the Thomas family, would like you over for dinner. Is that alright?" Uncle Thomas's voice carried slight flattery.
Ethan didn't say anything, remaining silent.
He had no desire to rekindle relations with the Thomas family or go back in time.
Uncle Thomas immediately spoke up after seeing Ethan's silence, saying, "Mr. Wilson, you suffered a lot of misery and ridicule from us in the past. I'm aware of everything. Looking back, we regret it so much. That's why we'd like you to come over so that we may personally apologize to you. If not, we won't be able to find inner peace."
“No need, I don’t want to go,” Ethan refused.
He was aware of the Thomas family's nature. They never gave him an opportunity to make amends over the years, so it was strange that they suddenly felt the need to apologize.
He had absolutely no interest in going now, even if they were sincere.
"Oh, I understand, Mr. Wilson. I bet you're still blaming Sharon, but she had her reasons before divorcing you. She did everything for the sake of protecting our family!"
"Due to our recent financial crisis, Sharon sacrificed herself to draw the attention of a few affluent young men so that they'd get closed to her and invest in our family. We are all to blame for it!" Sighing deeply, Uncle Thomas continued, "She also felt guilty and heartbroken after divorcing you. She's been crying at home, showing regret about her choice to file for divorce. Please come over. If not, I'm worried Sharon might take drastic measures!"
Uncle Thomas spoke in a very genuine tone, as though he were telling the truth.
"What? Is that true?" The words made Ethan's previously sinking heart tremble.
And she was remorseful over this?
Uncle Thomas replied, "Yes, it's true. If you come, she'll explain everything to you!"
"Well, I'll be there." Ethan let out a sigh. Even hearing these lies made his heart ache, even though he knew that these statements were probably lies.
Even after spending three years together day and night, he was unable to let go of that woman.
After some time, Ethan reached the Thomas family's luxurious estate.
"Mr. Wilson, you've arrived!"
Uncle Thomas looked at Ethan, grinning quickly as he stepped up to greet. The rest of the Thomas family gathered around as well, smiling and acting nicely.
Upon seeing this situation, Ethan couldn't help but feel a little ironic. In the past, these people would only cruelly mock and abuse him whenever he stepped foot on their estate. It was already a miracle if they didn't drive him away. When did he ever see such a friendly scene?
