Chapter 556 Seeking Thrills

Ethan checked out the faces of the three folks without saying much and just trailed behind them to the hall on the second floor.

Man, he had to admit, this hall was massive. There were rows of sofa booths all around, and in the middle, besides long tables loaded with drinks and snacks, there was this huge stage.

But for such a big space, the crowd was kinda thin, just a few dozen people scattered around, each chilling in their own spots, chatting, with only a few wandering around.

"Why does this place feel like a buffet restaurant?" Ethan glanced around, looking a bit puzzled as he asked.

"You're not wrong, but this buffet ain't cheap. Our membership card alone costs hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. Even if you eat here every day, you wouldn't make a dent in the owner's wallet." Leo was caught off guard by Ethan's comment, then nodded with a wry smile, agreeing with Ethan's analogy.

"And yet, so many people are dying to get in but can't?" Ethan raised an eyebrow and asked again.

Leo motioned for the group to find a sofa booth and sit down. He and Marco took one side, while Ethan and Angela sat opposite them.

"It's all about connections. The big shots behind RD Club are super influential, and everyone comes here for them. Meeting anyone here could give you a leg up in life. That's what makes RD Club different from other clubs or buffet joints," Leo explained seriously.

"Yeah, I get that. But there's gotta be more to RD Club than just that, right?" Ethan nodded knowingly and asked with a sly smile.

"Think this place is boring?" Leo's eyes lit up, and his tone suddenly got excited.

"It is kinda boring," Before Ethan could say anything, Angela had already chimed in calmly.

"I thought you didn't like noisy places, Angela. If you're up for it, I can show you something more thrilling," Leo's eyes sparkled as he spoke.

"Are you serious?" Marco stood up immediately, glaring at Leo and questioning him.

"What do you mean? Angela said it was boring," Leo defended himself with an innocent look.

"Alright, if there's something exciting, take us to see it," Angela smirked at Ethan and instructed calmly.

"Sure, I'll take you to a place that's definitely exciting." Leo immediately got up and led the three of them towards the staircase.

Ethan had a slight smile in his eyes. In fact, before entering this club, he already knew everything about it. In a place like this, a quick scan with his senses revealed everything inside. He just didn't want to seem too knowledgeable in front of Leo.

This time, instead of taking the stairs, Leo pressed the elevator button next to it.

"The real excitement in this club isn't upstairs, but downstairs. Only members with a silver card or higher can use the special elevator to go down," Leo said as he swiped his membership card on the elevator sensor and pressed the button for the second basement level.

Ethan knew well that the exciting place Leo mentioned was actually an underground boxing ring. When he scanned the place earlier, he was surprised to find such activities in this club.

As the elevator hit the second basement level, even before the doors slid open, the noisy shouts outside were loud and clear. Angela, who had been stone-faced, frowned a bit. Even though she asked for something exciting, this vibe clearly wasn't her jam.

"If you don't dig it, why force yourself?" Ethan could read Angela's thoughts like a book and squeezed her hand with a wry smile.

"I want to, okay? Besides, I wanna see what's so special about this RD Club," Angela shot Ethan a glare, then naturally linked her arm with his, almost leaning against him.

Good thing Angela had changed into casual clothes. If she were still in her military uniform, she wouldn't be all cozy with Ethan in a place like this. Even so, their lovey-dovey display made Marco and Leo exchange glances.

Finally, the elevator doors opened. The previously muffled noise turned into a full-on wave of sound that hit them head-on.

Outside the elevator was a square space, like a fully enclosed classroom, with tiered seating on all four sides. The central area, though, wasn't a podium but a boxing ring.

The crowd in the stands was going wild, watching two figures duking it out in the ring, shouting support for their favorite fighter, creating a deafening roar.

"The exciting place you mentioned is an underground boxing ring?" Angela asked coldly, her tone indifferent. But there was no surprise in her voice, showing she had expected this. She worked in intelligence and knew a lot.

"This is a boxing ring, but not the kind you think. The purpose of this ring is to provide a platform for settling grudges. No matter the beef, after a fight here, everything's cool, and everyone stays friends outside," Leo quickly explained.

"Do you believe that yourself?" Angela asked skeptically.

Leo was momentarily speechless, not knowing how to respond.

"If you're not feeling it, let's bounce. No need to stick around if you're uncomfortable," Ethan advised Angela again.

"We're already here, let's check it out first." Angela pulled Ethan towards one of the stands.

Marco shot Leo a glare and quickly followed Angela and Ethan.

"I brought Angela and Ethan here to see Giuseppe's reaction," Leo muttered to himself, clenching his fists tightly.

Meanwhile, in a spacious suite on the first floor of the club, Giuseppe Green sat on a sofa, staring blankly at the TV screen in front of him. But the TV wasn't showing any program; it was displaying the club's surveillance footage.

"See, Mr. Green, I wasn't lying. Your dream girl is here," Matteo Murphy said with a light laugh, watching Angela and the others enter the underground boxing ring on the screen.

"Who is that guy?" Giuseppe's eyes were locked on Ethan's face, his expression dark and menacing.

"I've never seen him in Everglow City. Maybe I'm just out of the loop. Want me to find out?" Matteo's smile grew brighter as he looked at Giuseppe's dark expression.

"No need. You know my style; I prefer to settle problems in the ring," Giuseppe snorted and walked out of the suite expressionlessly.

Matteo watched Giuseppe's back, licking his dry lips, and muttered to himself, "How long has it been since I saw you lose your cool? The last time was also because of this woman, right? Interesting."
