Chapter40 Shadow Gang
"What are you standing around for? Get him! I want him dead!” Tim was infuriated, his face twisting as he yelled at the bodyguard.
“For daring to slap him, I'll disable your hand first!” The bodyguard was determined, shouting angrily as he threw a punch at Ethan.
“Be careful!” Worried that Chloe and Jayden might be affected, Ethan propped himself on the table and kicked the sofa they were sitting on along with the two people on it.
With his fists swinging in the air, the bodyguard shouted coldly, “You should watch yourself first instead of others!”
Ethan blocked with his elbow. However, the bodyguard smiled strangely, suddenly turning his fist into a claw gesture as he grabbed Ethan's shoulder.
Ethan's expression changed, twisting himself into a strange angle to narrowly avoid the attack. He involuntarily took several steps back.
“I thought you were stronger, but it seems you're nothing special!” With just a few simple moves, the bodyguard immediately determined Ethan's strength, dispelling his previous worries and becoming even more aggressive.
Ethan also felt a sinking feeling; this bodyguard's combat skills surpassed his own. If he couldn't finish the fight faster, he would truly be in trouble.
Just then, the bodyguard leaped forward like a bullet, speeding toward him.
Ethan squinted his eyes, his retreating footsteps abruptly stopping. He stood in an awkward posture, as if he gave up resisting.
Seeing that the bodyguard clearly had the upper hand and Ethan was lost, Tim was excited and yelled, “Get rid of him, no— disable him first! To quell my anger, I want to torture him by my own hands!”
However, his excitement froze right after.
A scream echoed as the bodyguard, who had just gotten a chance and got close to Ethan, was inexplicably sent flying. He crashed heavily into the café's wall before collapsing to the ground.
“No... this is impossible! You were clearly losing to him!” Tim’s eyes widened, his face filled with disbelief.
Not only him, but Chloe and Jayden were also surprised. They were worried for Ethan just now, but the table had turned in an instant!
Only Ethan himself knew that he was just lucky. Thanks to his opponent being hasty and letting his guard down shortly, Ethan had an opportunity.
Otherwise, even with the techniques his mother taught him, he wouldn’t have won so easily!
Currently lying on the ground in a miserable state, the bodyguard had serious wounds as he bled continuously.
He couldn't understand how Ethan, who was clearly weaker, suddenly matched his strength. The moment they collided, he was sent flying.
‘I was unexpectedly defeated in one move!’ He thought to himself.
“You useless trash, het up and finish him off! Hurry up!” Tim exclaimed angrily at the bodyguard on the ground.
However, the bodyguard's eyes rolled back as he immediately passed out.
When Ethan's gaze turned toward him, Tim trembled. He realized that the situation wasn’t going well for him.
“What are you all standing around for? Attack, all of you!” Panicking, he immediately urged the other four bodyguards to charge forward.
Despite that, although they would’ve been capable against normal people, Ethan quickly and easily took them down with three punches and two kicks. They were unable to even crawl back up!
Tim was truly panicking now. As Ethan walked toward him, he involuntarily retreated, falling on the ground.
“What... What do you want?” he trembled uncontrollably, looking up at Ethan towering above him.
“I didn't provoke you, yet you want to kill me. Do you really think I’m that easy to step on? Or do you think I wouldn’t dare to kill you? “Ethan's gaze flickered with a hint of killing intent.
“You can't kill me, you wouldn’t dare! You definitely wouldn’t!” Now terrified, Tim cried out repeatedly.
“I could never do something as ruthless as killing someone, because I’m not a beast! However, the best way to handle a beast is to inflict pain and fear, making sure it never dares to bite you again!” Ethan solemnly said. For a short while, he really wanted to get rid of this hassle. However, he knew very well that he couldn't kill Tim yet, or else all his efforts would be in vain.
Ethan forcefully suppressed the killing intent within him.
“You wouldn’t dare lay a hand on me. If you did, none of you will survive! Grandfather will definitely seek revenge for me!” Upon hearing Ethan's words, Tim vigorously shook his head. Had his legs not buckled, he would’ve escaped by now. How could he still have the audacity to make such bold threats?
“Nonsense. Even if I won’t kill you, I can still disable you!” Ethan's expression suddenly turned fierce, kicking Tim's abdomen and sending him flying just like bodyguards.
Tim didn't even have a chance to scream. The moment he crashed into the wall, he was silent with his life hanging by a thread!
“Watch out!” At that moment, a figure flew toward Ethan from behind.
Not far behind him, Chloe suddenly shouted.
His heart skipped a beat. When he turned around, he saw a figure already closing in on him.
It was already too late by the time he realized!
The opponent was too quick, and Ethan instinctively dodged to the side. He was inches away from the punch aimed toward his back.
He successfully saved his critical spots.
Immediately, sharp pain enveloped his backside shoulders, making him lunge forward with tremendous force.
“You're swift with your feet!”
The shadow stopped beside Tim’s unconscious body, letting out a cold snort.
Then, he crouched down and examined Tim's injuries, seemingly unconcerned that Ethan could escape.
“You’re… Mike!”
On the other hand, Jayden immediately recognized this person's identity. He was shocked as he hurriedly went to help Ethan up.
“Not bad. I’m Mike from the Shadow Gang. I remember you, Jayden! We’ve met before!”
The newcomer seemed certain that Tim had just fainted from minor injuries. Only then did he stand up, revealing his identity when Jayden recognized him.
“What are you doing here?“
Jayden was immediately cautious.
“I didn’t expect that old bastard, Brady, to think so highly of me. He brought out the entire Shadow Gang just to get rid of me!”
Ethan endured his injuries, his pale face mocking with scorn.
