Chapter 582 The Helpless Francis
Just as Shane was getting all pumped up, Francis zoomed in from a distance.
"Ethan, who'd you drag into the secret realm this time?" Francis had clearly picked up on Shane's early master level vibe, which was why he rushed over.
"Shane, say hi to Francis!" Ethan didn't bother answering Francis and just gave Shane a look.
"Hey, I'm Shane Clark," Shane quickly greeted Francis.
"Is this your disciple?" Francis was genuinely shocked by Ethan's move. He'd only ever taken in regular folks who knew nothing, the best being a martial artist who had to bust their butt to become a Half-Step Grandmaster or even a master level. But Ethan had snagged a master level disciple right off the bat.
Ethan asked proudly, "Yeah, pretty cool, right? Better than your disciples?"
"Definitely better. It's not that he's better, but that you're better. I give up." Francis, having gotten the confirmation, could only nod repeatedly with a wry smile.
"Are you disappointed in me?" Shane asked softly, a bit anxious.
"Oh, it's nothing. I just didn't expect Ethan to take a disciple so quickly, and such a talented one at that," Francis finally came to his senses and sighed.
"Are you saying my disciple has upset you?" Ethan asked suspiciously.
Francis said, "You've definitely given me a shock."
Now, Shane had officially joined the ZF Guild, becoming the third member besides Ethan and Francis. As for Francis's disciples, they weren't yet considered official members of the ZF Guild.
"Shane, from today onwards, you're the first disciple of the ZF Guild. You gotta set an example and not act recklessly. Besides your master Ethan, the leader, there's only me in the guild. You must take it upon yourself to promote the ZF Guild and never commit any acts of betrayal or disloyalty. Otherwise, even if Ethan doesn't act, I won't let you off easily. Got it?" Francis seriously reminded Shane.
"I'll remember!" Shane immediately nodded in agreement.
"Alright, don't listen to his nonsense. I hate all these rules. Just remember, he's Francis. If you have any questions, you can ask him. With his grand master level skills, he should be qualified to guide you," Ethan patted Shane's arm and reminded him with a smile.
"Got it!" Shane's eyes lit up upon hearing this. He had been hesitant to ask about Francis's true strength, but now that he had the answer, he felt a sudden rush of happiness. If the JE Guild had such a lineup back then, they couldn't have been wiped out by the ML Guild.
"Ethan, this is your disciple. What do you mean by making me guide him? Teach your disciple yourself; I won't interfere," Francis immediately protested.
"You're so free. What's wrong with helping me teach my disciple? If you keep complaining, I'll hide all those ancient books somewhere else!" At these words, Francis immediately lost his temper.
"Fine, I'll help you teach your disciple. But are you planning to keep him in the Tiger Mount secret realm?" Francis asked, changing the subject.
"He just broke through to master level and needs to stabilize his strength. Staying in the secret realm to train will be good for him. Besides, you can guide him. You know how busy I am, so I'll have to trouble you for now," Ethan explained helplessly.
"Alright, since you put it that way, I have no choice but to help. But next time you take a disciple, will it be another master level?" Francis asked with a bitter smile.
"Who knows? Just take good care of my disciple," Ethan said with a mischievous smile.
Francis rolled his eyes but couldn't do anything about it.
"Alright, Shane, wait outside. I have more to discuss with him," Ethan instructed Shane seriously.
"Yes." Shane respectfully agreed and left.
"What do you want to talk about?" Francis knew Ethan wouldn't come just for Shane and asked curiously.
Ethan then briefly explained Shane's background and the recent grudge with the ML Guild.
"You really know how to stir things up. First, it was Celestia Vale, and now you've made enemies with those people. Can't you stay out of trouble for a day?" Francis was speechless after hearing this.
"Just tell me if you'll help or not," Ethan impatiently urged.
"How can I help? Do you want me, a grand master level, to wipe out the ML Guild for you?" Francis's mouth twitched.
"That's not necessary. I don't expect you to act. Just show up at a critical moment. I want the ML Guild leader to experience what Shane went through," Ethan said with a cold smile.
"You're not planning a massacre, are you?" Francis frowned.
"Don't worry, I won't kill indiscriminately. Destroying a sect doesn't necessarily mean killing people. That's too unfulfilling," Ethan said dismissively.
Hearing this, Francis finally breathed a sigh of relief.
