Chapter 365 A Bit Messy

As they left the café and got into the car, Ethan and Gino saw Kenny rush inside.

"Kenny's gonna be a handful," Ethan warned Gino.

"Whatever, I don't care what he thinks," Gino shrugged.

"Feeling better now that you got it off your chest?" Ethan asked, patting Gino's shoulder.

"Not really better, just less bottled up. I'm worried Caspar might head back to Sunridge," Gino said, glancing at the café with concern.

Just then, Kenny came out carrying Caspar, put her in his car, and sped off.

"Relax, Kenny won't let her go back to Sunridge. Plus, your sister's the Ashford family's first lady. Even Rex would think twice before messing with her," Ethan reassured with a bitter smile.

"Let's hope so," Gino nodded, still uneasy.

"If you're that worried, go back and sort out the Salvador family stuff. Then it'll be over," Ethan suggested, starting the car.

Gino stayed quiet, lost in thought about the Salvador family.

He talked about killing Rex to avenge his mom, but Rex was his dad. Could Gino really do it?

Ethan couldn't figure it out, and neither could Gino.

After dropping Gino off at Midnight Oasis, Ethan said, "I've got a family dinner tonight. If I don't go, my mom will flip. I'll come over after. If Dorian shows up early, have him wait."

"Got it, you go ahead," Gino agreed.

When Ethan got back, it was almost dark.

To his surprise, Cherry, who was supposed to be in Novaria, had returned.

As Ethan walked into the yard, he saw Cherry and Jessie on a stone bench in the pavilion, with Chloe and Sarah nearby. Hannah and Camila were nowhere to be seen.

"Jessie, it's settled. Once the Wilson family stuff is sorted, we'll set a wedding date!" Cherry said happily, holding Jessie's hand.

"Mom, why rush the engagement? Ethan and I don't need that!" Chloe protested. Cherry's sudden return was likely to push for Chloe and Ethan's marriage.

Normally, Chloe would be happy, but her situation with Ethan was different. If she got engaged to Ethan, what about Sarah and Hannah?

"I think they should decide for themselves. Besides, I can't control Ethan anymore," Jessie said awkwardly, glancing at Sarah.

"That's not how it works. The younger generation should listen to their elders. Ethan likes Chloe, right? Why would he refuse?" Cherry insisted.

Chloe might care about Sarah, but Cherry didn't.

Cherry knew Ethan had more than just Chloe around, so she wanted to secure Chloe's position by any means necessary.

Hearing this, Ethan felt like his legs were made of lead, unable to move.

Before they noticed him, he turned to leave.

"Ethan, why don't you come over and say hello? Since everyone says to listen to the younger generation, let's hear what you have to say!" Cherry spotted him, making it impossible to escape.

"I was just heading to the backyard to check on Percival. I didn't notice you in the pavilion. Why did you suddenly come back, Cherry?" Ethan had no choice but to walk over.

"Isn't it because of you and Chloe? Now that your mom is back, you can set a date for your wedding with Chloe, right?" Cherry asked with a smile.

Ethan felt helpless while Sarah made faces at him, acting like it had nothing to do with her.

"I haven't thought about it yet. There are still many unresolved issues. Can we discuss this later?" Ethan tried to stall Cherry.

"I know you're busy. I'm not asking you to get married right away, but you need to give me a timeline, for Chloe's sake," Cherry said seriously.

"Alright, Mom, let's talk about it later. There are so many things going on right now. Who knows when we'll have time? Stop adding to the chaos!" Chloe quickly pulled Cherry away from the pavilion.

"I'm doing this for your good. Where are you taking me?" Cherry asked, frustrated.

"There are so many people at home. Let's go see what the cook is preparing for dinner!" Chloe pulled Cherry away, clearly showing that only she could handle her.

"You were so funny just now, Ethan! You looked so helpless!" Sarah laughed, holding her stomach, especially thinking about Ethan's reaction to Cherry's last question.

If Chloe hadn't noticed Ethan's distress and pulled Cherry away, Ethan wouldn't have known how to respond.

"What's so funny? You're gloating over this? Aren't you afraid I'll get engaged to Chloe first?" Ethan rolled his eyes, feeling defeated by Sarah.

"Why would I be afraid? I thought about this when I decided to be with you. I'm not going to compete with her!" Sarah said nonchalantly.

Hannah, though not present, had said similar things to him. Among Sarah, Chloe, and Hannah, she was probably the least concerned about marriage.

Ethan didn't want to make any distinctions. If he was destined to be with Sarah, Chloe, and Hannah, he wanted to treat them equally. Marriage was something he didn't even want to consider.

"You guys are really something. You can't just think about yourselves; you have to consider the elders too! You might not care, but do you think your grandfather doesn't?" Jessie reminded Sarah.
