Chapter 400 Simple yet Violent

Right then, Ethan smashed through the glass door and vanished into the building.

Angela was shocked. She knew the glass was at least tempered, maybe even bulletproof. Yet, Ethan broke it like it was nothing. His strength was terrifying!

What made Angela even more anxious was the blaring alarm that followed, causing chaos inside.

First, there were screams and shouts, then explosions of varying intensity. Soon, some floors caught fire, and thick smoke poured out of the windows.

Angela's face darkened. She expected Ethan to cause trouble, but not this much. Was he really planning to destroy Madryd's office?

Angela didn't dare move. Ethan could be reckless, but she couldn't afford to be.

She was with the Vexa military, and her identity couldn't withstand scrutiny. Almost no one in the military knew about Ethan. Even if Madryd's people found out who he was, they couldn't escalate it much; they'd probably just label him a terrorist and issue a global manhunt.

But Ethan, acting so boldly, was more destructive than any terrorist.

Would he be afraid of Madryd's manhunt?

While Angela watched from 200 feet away, the office building turned into a madhouse.

The sudden alarm had everyone on edge, but they couldn't even see the intruder before Ethan wreaked havoc.

"Damn it, what's going on?" Spencer Garcia, head of Madryd's Norway operations, was in a meeting with key department heads. The commotion downstairs, with occasional explosions, made his face grim.

He knew it had to be an attack, but who would dare attack Madryd's office?

"Spencer, an unidentified person broke in. We can't figure out who or why. What should we do?" Pamela Adams, head of security, rushed in and reported.

"You're in charge of security! An intruder gets in, and you ask me what to do? Is your team useless?" Spencer snapped at Pamela.

"But we can't catch him. He's too fast and incredibly destructive. Our people couldn't even see him before getting knocked down. They didn't even have a chance to fire!" Pamela reported, trembling.

"Could it be a master-level attacker?" Spencer's face changed at the thought.

Why would such a powerful person attack their office for no reason?

"I think it's a master-level attacker. If it is, and he blows up the building, there's nothing we can do! What now?" Pamela asked, looking pale.

"Any casualties?" Spencer asked grimly.

"Lots of injuries, but no deaths reported yet," Pamela replied quickly.

Spencer's face relaxed a bit. It seemed this master-level guy wasn't out to kill everyone, so maybe the situation could be salvaged.

"Are you in charge here?" Ethan's lazy voice interrupted.

They turned to see Ethan sitting in a chair, smiling at Spencer.

"Who are you?" Spencer hadn't expected the intruder to be so young. He thought, 'If he got in here unnoticed, he's got to be close to master level.'

"What do you think?" Ethan grinned.

Pamela and the others reached for their guns, but before they could draw, their hands froze.

They looked down to see shiny silver needles in their wrists, numbing their arms.

"Stay put, or I can't promise I won't do something nasty," Ethan warned with a smile.

"What do you want?" Spencer broke into a cold sweat. Ethan's skills confirmed he was master-level.

"Are you in charge here?" Ethan asked again.

"Yes, I am. If you have demands, just say them. No need for this. Even if you're master-level, Madryd has masters too!" Spencer tried to sound confident.

"Bold words! Since you're so bold, we have nothing to discuss. I'll just tear down this building and see how strong your masters are!" Ethan laughed and started to leave.

"Wait!" Spencer shouted, sweating bullets.

Despite his confident talk, he was bluffing. Madryd's masters wouldn't care about his fate!

If Ethan destroyed the place, Spencer would be the first to get blamed!

"Got something to say?" Ethan asked, still smiling.

"We can talk. I don't know what we did to offend you," Spencer said, trying to stay calm.

"I'm starting to like you. Let's talk alone," Ethan's smile widened.

"No problem. Let's go to my office," Spencer suggested, eyes lighting up.

"Lead the way," Ethan shrugged.

Spencer quickly walked ahead, signaling his subordinates, and respectfully led Ethan out of the meeting room.
