Chapter 609 Determined to Win

"Let's just leave it at that. With your current strength, even with a grandmaster by your side, taming an Infant Stage spirit beast should be doable. But an Adolescent Stage one? That's pushing it. And a Mature Stage? Forget about it," Angel said, looking a bit dismissive.

"What's with that look? We're friends now. You don't have to be so harsh on me," Ethan shot back at Angel.

"I'm just being honest. Anyway, what kind of spirit beast are you trying to tame?" Angel pouted and switched gears, sounding curious.

"I don't know the details yet. All I know is it's some kind of wolf spirit beast called Moonhowl. I'll find out more when I see it." Ethan sighed, feeling a bit helpless.

"Wolf clan, Moonhowl!" Angel frowned, deep in thought.

"Have you heard of it?" Ethan asked, noticing her reaction.

"I'm not sure. It sounds familiar, but I can't quite place it. Did I hear about it before?" Angel shook her head, looking puzzled.

Ethan thought, 'If Angel knew about this Moonhowl before, it must have a lifespan of at least a thousand years. It can't be an Infant or Adolescent Stage spirit beast, right? If a terrifying monster shows up, that would be something.'

"How long does the Infant Stage of a spirit beast last?" Ethan asked, testing the waters.

"That's like asking how long it takes to become a master. How long did it take you to reach master level?" Angel replied, a bit exasperated.

Ethan felt a bit foolish for asking that question. It took him less than a year to become a master, while some people never reach that level in their lifetime.

"But generally, an Adolescent Stage spirit beast has a lifespan of at least one or two hundred years. Some with more talent or opportunities, or true spirit bloodlines, might reach it in a few decades." Angel's words surprised Ethan.

He thought, 'One or two hundred years to reach Adolescent Stage, then Mature Stage or even Golden Core Stage might take a few hundred years. If Angel knew about Moonhowl or had seen it before entering Requiem Tower, it must be a spirit beast thousands of years old.'

Then he thought differently, 'But that doesn't make sense. If it were a super terrifying existence, how would the ML Guild dare to capture it? Besides, there haven't been any reports of spirit beasts causing trouble before. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.'

"It's really rare for the Moonhowl clan to show up on this continent," Angel suddenly muttered to herself.

"What do you mean by the Moonhowl clan? Isn't Moonhowl the name of a spirit beast?" Ethan's heart skipped a beat.

"Moonhowl is a clan within the wolf clan. Even though I've lost my memory, I seem to have some impression of this clan. Moonhowl is the highest bloodline within the wolf clan and the leader of the wolf clan, a family that inherits the true spirit bloodline," Angel explained, looking a bit strange.

Logically, she shouldn't have memories of this part, but hearing Ethan mention Moonhowl brought back some information.

"So Moonhowl is just the name of a clan. Then the one on Vast Mountain can't be a thousand-year-old spirit beast." Ethan let out a sigh of relief but felt a rush of excitement. He thought, 'If Moonhowl has a true spirit bloodline, taming such a little spirit beast would give me a powerful ally.'

A few months ago, Ethan would never have imagined that stepping onto this path of cultivation would flip his world upside down, even challenging his entire worldview.

"You seem pretty interested in this little Moonhowl wolf pup?" Angel asked, curious.

"It's not just me. A lot of people are after Moonhowl, but this time, I'm determined to get it," Ethan said confidently.

"Wait here, I'll go ask around and get back to you," Angel suddenly remembered something, told Ethan, and then disappeared into the upper levels of Requiem Tower. She was obviously going to gather more information.

Ethan couldn't help but smile. With the help of so many people in Requiem Tower, his chances of taming that little wolf pup had significantly increased.

"Mr. Wilson, what are you thinking about?" Kenneth, who had been following Ethan, couldn't help but ask when he saw Ethan's changing expressions.

"Nothing. Let's go check out the situation near Vast Mountain," Ethan didn't explain much to Kenneth and quickened his pace towards Vast Mountain.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the southwestern snowy mountains, in a snow camp less than sixty miles from the Vexa border, a shadow suddenly appeared at the entrance of the central tent.

"Why have you come in person?" Soon, a group of figures emerged from the tent, looking slightly surprised to see Salvatore Robinson.

"That fool failed to kill Phoenix. What went wrong? I need an explanation!" Salvatore's face was hidden under a black robe, but his voice was sharp and piercing.

"Originally, Antonio Scott's sneak attack on Phoenix should have been a surprise, a one-hit kill. But at the critical moment, Raymond seemed to have been prepared and blocked the fatal blow, so only his arm was severed," The leading Grandmaster explained nervously. The other master levels didn't even have the right to speak.

"Where is Antonio?" Salvatore asked calmly.

"Still within Vexa, but his attack has created an opportunity for us. Two of my disciples have already infiltrated Vexa. With the Breath Concealment Pill you gave us, it's hard for those Vexa fools to detect them unless they're very close," The leader quickly explained.

"With Antonio's cooperation, they might achieve unexpected results. But the Breath Concealment Pill's effect only lasts for three days. There are two urgent matters at hand," Salvatore paused for a moment before speaking calmly.

"Whatever you need, just say the word," The leader's heart skipped a beat, and he responded eagerly.

"Your two disciples will have to act separately. One will go directly to Novaria, and the other to the northwest Vast Mountain." Salvatore's tone was unquestionable.

"Act separately? But there's only one cross mark. How will they divide it?" The leader was stunned.
