Chapter 391 Experience It

After leaving the small motel, Ethan and Angela walked through the busy streets. For once, Angela wasn't giving Ethan her usual cold shoulder. She walked beside him, just as distant as when they first met.

Ethan popped Wade's SIM card into his phone and said, "I can handle this alone. Why'd you tag along?"

"We're partners. This isn't just your problem, and I'm not letting you take all the risks," Angela replied coolly.

"Should I thank you for being such a burden?" Ethan asked, raising an eyebrow with a smirk.

"You think I'm a burden?" Angela frowned but quickly let it go. She knew she might be slowing him down.

Angela was still wondering why Norman paired her with Ethan. Was it just because of his skills? After tonight, she had to admit Ethan made things easier. In Norway, she felt like extra baggage.

If that was the case, why didn't Norman just send Ethan alone?

"You didn't argue, so you agree with me?" Ethan asked, still smirking.

"I just want to finish this mission and get Wade and the hard drive back," Angela said, brushing off his comment.

"Don't worry. Once we find the hard drive, we're out of here. I have a ton of stuff waiting for me at home," Ethan said calmly.

"I heard you can make someone a warrior?" Angela suddenly changed the topic.

"Why do you ask?" Ethan raised an eyebrow.

"Norman told me about the Nightfall Brigade. Can you make me a warrior too?" Angela stopped and stared at Ethan.

"I think you misunderstood. I can't make someone a warrior. I can only use medical techniques to open the Sea of Energy, which is just a step towards becoming a warrior. Whether someone becomes a warrior is up to them," Ethan said, frowning.

"Then help me open the Sea of Energy," Angela asked, stepping back from her initial request.

"Is that an order?" Ethan raised an eyebrow.

"Consider it a request. If you help me, I'll owe you one," Angela said, biting her lip and lowering her head.

Ethan found her demeanor amusing. With a flash of silver in his hand, he swiftly swept over Angela.

Angela didn't feel anything unusual. She stared at Ethan in shock. "What are you doing?"

"Didn't you want to open the Sea of Energy? It's done," Ethan said, waving the silver needle before putting it away.

"Really? Why don't I feel anything?" Angela asked, surprised, as she checked herself for any changes.

"The Sea of Energy is just one part of becoming a warrior. It's like a storage space for super energy. I can give you the warehouse, but you have to fill it yourself. To become a warrior, you need to train, generate super energy, and store it in the Sea of Energy. When you can feel the energy, you'll be a true warrior. Opening the Sea of Energy is just the first step," Ethan explained seriously.

"Are you brushing me off?" Angela looked at Ethan skeptically. Everything he did seemed too easy, and she didn't even notice it.

She wondered, 'Did he really open my Sea of Energy?'

"If you don't trust me, why ask for my help?" Ethan shrugged.

Angela opened her mouth but stayed silent.

"Find an open space, and I'll show you what it means to be a warrior," Ethan said, noticing her disappointment.

"Show me what it means to be a warrior?" Angela was surprised.

"Follow me!" Ethan grabbed her hand and led her to a small, empty riverside park.

Angela initially wanted to pull away but eventually let him lead her.

"What are you going to do?" she asked suspiciously after he let go of her hand.

Ethan didn't explain. He quickly struck her lower abdomen with his palm.

"What are you doing?" Angela's face changed, thinking he was messing with her.

"Hold on! Didn't you say you wanted to be a warrior? Feel it first!" Ethan said, exasperated.

Angela then noticed a warm flow in her lower abdomen where Ethan had struck. Her initial agitation had prevented her from noticing it.

"Is this the super energy you mentioned?" Angela felt the warm energy gathering, giving her a sudden surge of strength and comfort.

"Yes, but this is my super energy. I can fill your Sea of Energy so you can feel it, but my energy will dissipate in a day or two. You need to train diligently. When you have your own super energy, you'll be a true warrior," Ethan explained.

"So this is super energy, and this is what it feels like to be a warrior? It's powerful!" Angela murmured, feeling the difference from her usual state.

"I have a mantra here. How much you can understand depends on your talent. For now, try to activate the super energy in your body using the mantra; it should help," Ethan said, picking a branch from a nearby tree and writing a mantra on the ground.

"Memorize it quickly; I don't want anyone else to see it," Ethan urged.

Angela didn't hesitate and quickly memorized what Ethan had written.

With her professional training, Angela's memory was sharp. Plus, the mantra was only a few dozen words, making it easy to remember.

"Got it!" Angela nodded after three minutes.

Ethan then used the branch to erase the words on the ground.

"This is the initial mantra for a palm technique, just the starting move," Angela quickly understood.

"Are you complaining? Things need to be done step by step. If you master this quickly, I wouldn't mind teaching you the entire Rolling Wave Palm technique," Ethan said with a smile.
