Shortly afterward, the car arrived at Hannah's company, “Hannah Jewelry Company.”
She told the staff to carry the safe with the jade into her office. Then, she took Ethan around before bringing him to her office and calling in her best craftsman.
“Alex, you've seen the company. Honestly, your jade probably costs more than 10 companies like this combined.”
While the craftsman was observing Ethan’s bead, Hannah also discussed the company's affairs.
On the other hand, Ethan calmly replied, “I don't care about immediate benefits; I can see this company’s future rise. With this jade and Beckett's support, it wouldn't be difficult to develop the company within a short time!”
Even if she had any doubts before, Hannah couldn’t just regard Ethan as ordinary, especially after seeing his account balance.
Hannah asked with a bitter smile, “No matter how this is done, I'm the one benefiting from this. So, what percentage of the company do you want? I'll leave a portion for the president!”
“I only want 35 percent with one requirement; you need to keep 35 percent of the shares, and it's up to you regarding how much you give Beckett! Moreover, you will still manage the company, while I handle business matters.”
Ethan said seriously, “I won't ask about how you feel. However, if you encounter any trouble, you can tell me and I'll help solve it!”
Hannah didn't expect that he only wanted a little over 30% of the shares, but after some thought, she understood his brilliance. A president who truly knows how to manage their subordinates wouldn’t mind if everyone earned money together. That was also why large companies with partnership structures were rising.
In the long run, this kind of cooperation would ensure the company’s smooth sailing. After all, the better it performed, the better everyone's interests would be!
As they discussed, the craftsman was done checking the bead, returning it to Ethan.
“How long will it take to make?” Ethan asked the craftsman.
The man replied, “Earliest by tonight!”
Hannah suggested, “Once it’s finished, I’ll deliver it to your villa right away!”
“Thank you then!”
Since she lived next door, he didn’t refuse as it wouldn’t take much for her to deliver it.
Just then, a female employee suddenly rushed into the office, upset as she said, “Madam, the company's accounts and some important client information are missing!”
Hannah's expression changed when she heard this. “What happened? As the accountant, weren’t you handling those things?”
“I don't know either! I checked them this noon, and everything was still there!” the accountant explained anxiously.
Ethan suddenly reminded the two women, “Seems like there’s a traitor! Do we have any surveillance cameras? And has Clint returned?”
“Check the surveillance footage. See who entered your office!” Hannah quickly caught on.
Soon, in the security room, Ethan and the others indeed saw Clint returning to the company. He seemed to have come after the initial conflict at the ore trading meeting. He discreetly unlocked the accountant’s office, leaving after no more than five minutes!
The female accountant exclaimed in astonishment, “Only I have my office key. How did he get a spare?”
“It seems like this wasn't done on the spot, but rather planned in advance! Let's see how he left the company!” Ethan sneered, checking the surveillance footage outside the company. He noticed that after leaving the office, Clint directly walked out of the company and got into a gray Buick parked nearby.
Zooming in on the footage, Ethan saw a building pass on the car's windshield.
“Source Mansion?” Ethan looked at Hannah.
Hannah instantly realized, “Source Mansion? Antonio Bell's Jewelry Company is in that building! Has Clint been colluding with Antonio since a long time ago?”
“Are you talking about that Mr. Bell from before?” Ethan immediately remembered the guy who wanted to buy his emerald for $300,000 at the mineral trade fair.
Hannah explained with an angry look, “Yes, him! We've always been rival, and his company is slightly larger than mine. However, our recent development has been good, so I didn’t expect him to do something so dirty to us!”
“Miss Collins, we only have $12.5 million left in our accounts, and the amount was transferred half an hour ago!” When the accountant realized that Clint had infiltrated her office, she quickly checked the company's accounts and discovered that the funds had indeed disappeared!
Hannah staggered at the news, clearly deeply affected, “That's all the liquid capital the company has at the moment!”
“Since we noticed so early, we should still be able to catch up if we hurry back. Have the accountant call the police immediately, and let's see if we can block this guy’s path!” Ethan made a quick decision, leading the way out of the security room.
Hannah quickly had the accountant call the police and followed behind Ethan.
Getting into her car, the two headed straight for Source Mansion.
Since they didn't have a pass, they couldn’t enter the underground parking lot. After parking the car on the roadside, they directly entered the underground parking lot and searched around. Sure enough, they found the grey Buick that appeared in the footage!
“Should we go up and find him?” Hannah immediately asked Ethan, now regarding him as her backbone.
“No need. If the car is still here, that means he just arrived and hasn't left yet. After doing something like this, he's definitely planning to escape. Let's just wait here!” Ethan shook his head. They chose a hidden spot where they could see the elevator and the car.
In Antonio's office, Clint eagerly asked Antonio, “Mr. Bell, I've stolen all these documents and data. With her liquid capital losses, I’m sure Hannah's company wouldn't last much longer. I've done what you asked, so won’t you deliver your promise?”
“You've done well. Don't worry, I'll arrange for someone to help you leave immediately and go to another city to lay low. I don't want the money you transferred, but I'll give you an additional $3 million for these documents!” Antonio said, throwing a bank card to Clint.
“I reckon Hannah will find out soon, so I must leave right away! Otherwise, the police will come knocking, and you won't be able to escape either!” Clint reminded Antonio as he put away the bank card.
“Let's go. I'll escort you downstairs, and I'll have the driver take you out of the city!” Antonio also understood the situation and quickly led Clint out of the office.
Few minutes later, the two of them exited the elevator in the underground parking lot while accompanied by bodyguards.
Ethan wasted no time, suddenly appearing behind the group of people!
“Isn’t it too late for you to leave now?”
“It's you?” Antonio and Clint turned around from the sudden voice, immediately recognizing Ethan at a glance!
