Chapter64 Changing Ownership Once Again
When everyone from the Wilsons had retreated and the villa returned to its initial tranquility, Hannah finally eased up a bit.
She took a medical kit from her house to check Ethan's injuries, but to her surprise, he had no external wounds!
“Enough, you don’t need to do anything. I was only deceiving that guy earlier; he isn’t strong enough to harm me.” Ethan understood the mysterious aura’s power well, not explaining much to Hannah.
Hannah asked Ethan with a concerned look, “Aren’t all of you from the same family? why would they treat you like this?”
“In the end, it's all because of greed. I don't want to talk about the Wilson family; let's talk about you instead. You saw that the Wilsons and I are now fighting each other toe-to-toe. I know the Wilson family is just a rumor to you, but what you saw earlier is only a small part of it! If you're worried about getting dragged into this, we can end our previous cooperation.” Ethan sighed and then changed the subject to remind her.
“What do you take me for? If I was afraid of that, I wouldn't have come here just now!” she immediately showed her dissatisfaction, furrowing her eyebrows as he said that.
“Aren't you afraid of the Wilson family?” Ethan examined Hannah.
“Of course, I am! Even before I met you, I didn’t much about them, only that they’re behind Cloud Group! However, I have my principles when doing things, and I have confidence in you!” Hannah earnestly explained. She didn't know where her confidence came from. Perhaps from the sense of security Ethan gave her with his previous actions?
Although she was a powerful woman in the business world, a failed marriage had left her feeling extremely insecure. The safety she desired seemed to be with this man!
“You should return first and quickly finalize your partnership with Beckett. I believe that soon the Wilsons will come after me, and they won't spare your company either!” Ethan glanced at Hannah for a moment and told her seriously.
“Are you really alright?” she still had some concerns, but with his insistence, she could only go home with the medical kit.
For Hannah, this night might be a sleepless one.
It was also the same for Brady and even the entire Wilson family.
Just returning to the ward, Tim angrily asked when he saw Beverly walk in, “Beverly, why didn't you kill Ethan just now? Are you colluding with that bastard we exiled?”
“I’m warning you, Tim. I'm not your subordinate! Don't forget that I saved you just now!” her face was cold as she straightforwardly reminded him without any politeness.
“I was just curious, why did you let him go...”
“Why did you let that guy escape!” Tim realized that his tone was off and forced himself to speak properly, suppressing the anger in his heart.
She responded disdainfully, “It’s nothing strange. After all, even Mike is no match for him. Do you think my men could do anything to Ethan?”
Hearing this, Tim immediately lost his temper because she was stating the truth!
“This Mike, he even has the nerve to call himself a master. I think he's just a waste!” Angry with nowhere to vent, Tim immediately directed his fury toward Mike.
“If it weren't for him, you would've been dead by now! You better stay put and not provoke Ethan again. Otherwise, I won’t be able to save you next time!” Beverly warned before turning and leaving.
“Where are you going?” Tim quickly asked.
“I'm going to call Elder Brady. I need to report tonight’s events to him!” Beverly said and left without looking back.
“Just you wait, Ethan! One day, I’ll make you kneel before and beg me for death! I just can’t let you go like this, it's impossible!” Tim coldly yelled, his eyes gleaming with malice as he watched Beverly disappear through the door.
At the same time, Mike was lying in the hospital bed. He was on the phone with Brady.
“You're saying he actually got a superpower?” Brady's breathing noticeably hitched upon hearing Mike's report, extremely shocked.
“That's right. Moreover, it’s quite strange, being cold as ice! I’ve never seen or heard of such a strange superpower before. Do you know anything about it, Great Elder?”
Frowning, Mike recalled the sensation of the chilly energy entering his body, his eyes filled with fear.
Brady immediately dismissed Mike's speculation, “Impossible! How can there be a distinction between cold and hot in superpowers? I’ve never heard of such a thing either!”
Mike hurriedly said, “Then, what about the chills I felt? Moreover, I’ve been suspecting if Ethan has a master assisting him. He couldn't have grown so rapidly without someone teaching him!”
Brady was silent for a moment on the other end before calmly saying, “It seems I underestimated him. I didn't expect him to be so troublesome! If he really does have a master, then the icy aura you mentioned earlier shouldn't be from Ethan himself.”
Brady's words shook Mike's heart. “Are you suggesting that someone let these signs in his body?”
“Find a way to figure it out. If there really is such a person, you must find them for me!” Brady's tone was unquestionable.
“But my current condition...” Mike was bitter. He never expected Ethan to defeat him!
Brady sighed, “Forget it, I'll just make different arrangements. You get some rest and bring Tim back to me!”
Seeing him still worry about his grandson’s condition, Mike sighed. “What about Cloud Group?” Mike reminded with a furrowed brow.
Brady said before ending the call, “Let Beverly take over. You guys don't need to worry about a thing; just return Tim to me!”
Overnight, Cloud Group changed hands again, and Beverly took over as the new chairman. The next day, newspapers and television news were flooded with reports of this, which infuriated Tim who was still in the hospital. After recovering for a night, Ethan's injuries had healed, but he noticed that the mysterious energy had grown stronger. As he sat in the living room while eating a bowl of noodles and watching the news, he saw the news of Cloud Group’s chairman changing again.
“Beverly, was it really you who secretly informed me?” his eyes narrowed as he saw Beverly’s image on TV screen during the press conference. At that moment, his phone suddenly rang with a call from Chloe.
“Chloe, why are you calling me so early?” he couldn't help but smile as he answered.
“Ethan, have you seen the news? Cloud Group changed their chairman again!” Chloe's voice echoed from the other end.
Ethan reminded with a laugh, “I'm watching it right now. It doesn’t really make a difference to me, so there’s no need to overreact!”
“I'm at the Harris family's house right now, and you should come over as well. Old Master Harris wants to have lunch with you today!” Chloe suddenly changed the topic, her tone joyful and excited.
Ethan was surprised. It had only been one night, but Clarence already resolved his issue? “Alright then, wait for me. I'll be there soon!” He didn't have much time to think. Regardless of the situation, since Clarence was inviting him, he had to make this trip!
