301 Robert's Invitation
On the way back, Greg kept a close eye on Ethan, who was driving. Seeing Ethan's calm expression, Greg finally relaxed.
The world of warriors was a whole different ballgame compared to ordinary folks. Even among regular people, flaunting wealth was a bad idea. For warriors, it was the complete opposite. The two beads Ethan had were priceless. If word got out, every warrior would be after them!
Killing for treasures was common among warriors. In the ordinary world, laws might hold people back, but warriors had their own rules.
No matter how fair those rules sounded, it all came down to one thing: strength!
If Ethan thought this secret might get out, he could kill anyone who knew about it.
"You seem pretty tense," Ethan said casually, noticing Greg's unease.
"Mr. Wilson, what are you planning to do with Gabriella and Sharon?" Greg hesitated but then gathered the courage to ask.
"What do you mean? Do you think I should kill them?" Ethan raised an eyebrow, forcing a smile.
"That's not what I meant. I'm just worried they might spill the beans about today." Greg quickly shook his head, hinting that if the news got out, it might not be from him; Gabriella and Sharon could also talk.
"Don't worry. As long as you keep quiet, I won't do anything to you. Even if you do talk, I won't harm you. But will you really say anything?" Ethan saw through Greg's thoughts and reassured him with a smile.
"We're in this together. How could I betray you? Rest assured!" Greg quickly pledged his loyalty.
"Then there's no problem. Don't bring it up again!" Ethan said firmly, leaving no room for doubt.
Greg finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Back at the villa, Greg had his men pick him up and told Cherry to prepare the contract for transferring the Johnson Group's building ownership. With Andrew already in their hands, the next steps would be much easier.
After returning to the villa, Ethan went straight to his room to study the demonic energy he had absorbed into the two beads.
Unlike with Kenny, the demonic energy was absorbed by both beads simultaneously. However, upon closer inspection, Ethan found he couldn't sense any demonic energy within the beads, as if it had been completely absorbed.
"The Sun and Moon Beads contain a vast amount of super energy, and that made it easier to absorb Andrew's demonic energy compared to Kenny's super energy. It's practically ready to use!" Ethan tried absorbing some of the super energy from the beads, and his eyes lit up, his heart racing.
If he could fully absorb this powerful energy, he might reach the Half-Step Grandmaster level. This was an unexpected delight!
However, even though this super energy was highly compatible with his own, it still required a process to absorb. It would take a few days to fully integrate it.
Ethan spent the entire afternoon locked in his room, diligently absorbing the powerful super energy.
If Andrew knew Ethan had absorbed his demonic energy, he would have lost his mind.
In the evening, when Chloe and Sarah drove back to the villa, they noticed a police car parked at the entrance. They exchanged glances, both looking suspicious.
It wasn't until Chloe saw a middle-aged officer step out of the police car that she led Sarah out to greet him.
Chloe recognized the officer; it was Clark, who had once helped Zachary make things difficult for her and Ethan. He was also Robert's nephew!
"Clark, what brings you here?" Chloe asked, her curiosity piqued.
"Well, Miss Miller. Long time no see. Is Mr. Wilson at home?" Clark's eyes lit up when he saw Chloe, and he asked with a smile.
"His room light is on, so he should be home. What do you need him for?" Chloe glanced at Ethan's lit room, her suspicion growing.
"Robert is having a birthday party the day after tomorrow. I came here today specifically on Robert's orders to personally deliver an invitation to Mr. Wilson," Clark quickly explained, pulling an invitation from his pocket.
"So it's the Governor's birthday party. Just give it to me; I'll tell him later. He'll probably go." Chloe's mind raced. Ethan would stay in Novaria, so dealing with the governor was inevitable. She couldn't think of any reason to refuse, so she accepted the invitation on Ethan's behalf.
"Thank you, Miss Miller. It would be great if Miss Harris and Miss Miller could come as well. Robert would be very pleased to see you both." Clark extended the invitation to Chloe and Sarah.
"We were planning to go anyway. Thanks for coming all this way. You should head back now; we'll definitely be there the day after tomorrow." Chloe nodded and agreed with a smile.
Hearing this, Clark smiled and left. Chloe and Sarah looked at the invitation and immediately went into the villa, heading straight to Ethan's room and knocking on the door.
Ethan was still immersed in the rapid growth of his power, experiencing that wonderful feeling when the knocking interrupted him.
Glancing at the sky outside the window, Ethan stopped his practice, put away the Sun and Moon Beads, and opened the door.
"You're all back?" Seeing Chloe and Sarah standing at his door, Ethan greeted them, knowing they must have something to discuss.
"What were you doing alone in your room?" Sarah peeked into Ethan's room, curious.
"What else would I be doing alone? Of course, I was practicing! Do you have something to tell me?" Ethan casually explained and got straight to the point.
"This is an invitation from Robert, delivered by his nephew Clark. He wants you to attend his sixtieth birthday party the day after tomorrow," Chloe said as she handed the invitation directly to Ethan.
"Robert? Why is he inviting me to his birthday party now?" Ethan took the invitation and looked at it, his face full of suspicion as he furrowed his brows.
