Chapter 273 Cherry's Thoughts

In the private room, Munro and Cherry sat facing each other. Munro looked hesitant, while Cherry sat with a stern expression, saying nothing.

"Cherry, Ethan has already given me the position of General Manager of the group. Isn't it too much for you to also want the position of General Manager of the branch office? Munro had been struggling for a long time but still wanted to persuade Cherry to give up such an excessive demand.

"What's too much about it? Whether it's Merrick or me as the General Manager of the branch office, it's still someone from the Miller family. Chloe is also going to the Novaria branch. If I were in Novaria, I could take care of her." Cherry glared at Munro, retorting with a look of dissatisfaction.

"But Ethan has already promised Merrick, and the appointment order was issued to the branch office yesterday. Asking him to change it now would make him lose credibility," Munro frowned and persuaded her earnestly.

"So what? Since we're family, personnel change is our own business. What can outsiders say? Or are you worried about what Merrick might think?" Cherry snorted dismissively.

"I think what you're doing is too much and might make people feel disheartened. Merrick is my younger brother, after all. If you take the position of General Manager of the branch office, where would you have him go?" Munro sighed helplessly.

"Aren't you the General Manager of the group? Isn't it easy for you to arrange a position for Merrick in the group? Anyway, I want to go to Novaria to be with Chloe. You figure out the rest!" Cherry's tone was uncompromising, leaving Munro at a loss.

At this moment, the door of the private room opened, and Ethan walked in from outside.

Munro and Cherry immediately stopped their conversation.

"Munro, Cherry, sorry to keep you waiting!" Ethan greeted the two of them.

"Come and sit down. I hope we didn't interrupt you." Munro's smile was somewhat forced, and he was also wondering what Ethan's reaction would be if he heard Cherry's request.

"The group has just been established, and most of the affairs are handled by specialists. As the chairman, he is actually the most relaxed. What important matters could he have?" Cherry said slowly before Ethan could say anything.

Munro felt embarrassed.

"Cherry, you are right. I don't have to attend to group's affairs, indeed. I just came back from Luke's place and had just sent Remington home when I received Munro's call!" Ethan didn't mind it and explained with a smile after sitting down.

Cherry rolled her eyes, feeling as if a stone was stuck in her heart. She had just said Ethan had nothing important to do, and he immediately mentioned Luke and Remington. If their matters weren't considered important, then what was?

Munro looked at Cherry's frustrated face, wanting to laugh but not daring to, so he had to hold it in.

"So you went to see Luke and Remington today. How are the two elders doing?" Munro seized the opportunity to start a conversation, easing Cherry's embarrassment.

"They're both doing well and are about to return to Novaria. I had to go and say goodbye before they left," Ethan explained casually.

"That's right. It's necessary to visit them before leaving Everglow City. You are indeed thoughtful." Munro nodded in agreement.

"Munro, you called me over so urgently. Is there something you need?" Ethan finally got to the point and asked.

Munro glanced at Cherry, hesitated for a moment, but couldn't bring himself to say it. Cherry's face, however, turned increasingly sullen.

"Actually, it wasn't me who wanted to see you. Cherry has something to discuss with you. Let her speak for herself." Munro gritted his teeth and decided to let Cherry handle the difficult conversation.

"What a useless man. I'll say it!" Cherry, annoyed, directly said to Ethan, "I'm not comfortable with your taking Chloe back to Novaria. So, I plan to go to Novaria to take care of her!"

Ethan's heart skipped a beat. He naturally didn't believe Cherry was going to Novaria just for Chloe, but he was somewhat surprised by her intention. If Cherry had gone to Novaria, would he still have had a peaceful life?

"Cherry, if you want to go to Novaria, I would certainly welcome you. But if you go to Novaria, wouldn't that mean you and Munro would be separated? What would Uncle do?" Ethan was naturally unwilling, but he didn't show it on his face.

"Ethan is right. Chloe has Ethan to take care of her. What are you worried about? Why do you have to go to Novaria?" Munro earnestly tried to persuade her.

"What are you talking about? Of course, I care about Chloe. Do you think everyone is as heartless as you?" Cherry snorted.

"Are you saying I don't care about Chloe?" Munro immediately glared, feeling that Cherry was being unreasonable and even resorting to personal attacks!

"Both of you, don't get worked up. It is naturally a good thing. I'm sure Chloe would be happy to know. But as far as I know, you handle a lot of the Miller family's business. If you go to Novaria, what will happen to those businesses?" Ethan, feeling helpless, tried to mediate.

"It's simple. Let me switch positions with Merrick. He can stay in Everglow City to look after the Miller family's business, and I'll go to Novaria to manage your branch office. Problem solved," Cherry said this as if it were the most natural solution.

Ethan frowned, realizing that Cherry had her eyes on the General Manager position of the Novaria branch all along.

"Ethan, don't listen to her nonsense. The General Manager position is not a trivial matter!" Munro's heart tightened as he saw Ethan's frown. He suddenly realized that Ethan was no longer someone they could easily control!

Before meeting Ethan, he might not have felt this strongly, but seeing Ethan frown gave Munro a bad feeling.

"How is it nonsense for me to be the General Manager? Am I not qualified?" Cherry didn't expect Munro to oppose her at this critical moment, so she rebuked him, her face turning livid.

"Enough! Stop making a scene. This family is not for you to decide. Shut up!" Munro suddenly slammed the table and stood up, shouting angrily at Cherry.

He couldn't remember the last time he had been so angry with Cherry, but he couldn't hold back his fury any longer.

Cherry was stunned by Munro's sudden outburst. She sat in her chair with a sullen expression, not daring to speak for a long time.

Ethan was also taken aback. He did not expect Munro to get so angry at Cherry. Even though Cherry was indeed being unreasonable, it still surprised him.

At that moment, Ethan really wanted to give Munro a thumbs up. This was the kind of authority the Miller family heir should have!

"It's just a small matter. Munro, don't get angry. Cherry is also thinking about Chloe. Let's all try to understand each other. It's just a branch office. If Cherry really wants to go, let her. However, you will have to endure the pain of being separated." Ethan smiled bitterly and quickly stood up to mediate.

"So you're agreeing?" Cherry's eyes lit up, and she excitedly stood up to ask.

"If you really want the General Manager position, I have no objections. Besides, you are capable, and I would be more than happy to have your help." Ethan nodded with a smile, causing Cherry to give Munro a triumphant look.
