Chapter 378 Eric
Norman, Remington, and Bennit all ignored Ethan, acting like they hadn't heard him.
"I'll take you back and discuss the mission on the way," Angela said indifferently, already at the door.
Ethan rolled his eyes and reluctantly followed her.
"Angela's not thrilled about our arrangement," Remington said with a wry smile after they left.
"If it were anyone else, I'd worry, but I trust Ethan," Norman replied, also smiling wryly but hopeful.
"Let's hope Ethan doesn't disappoint," Bennit added with a rare smile.
"Are you enjoying this?" Remington laughed, looking at Bennit.
"Partnering with Angela will be tough for Ethan. It's good training for both," Bennit said, smiling.
Outside Norman's building, Ethan glanced at Angela's graceful figure in her military uniform.
"Get in," Angela said, opening the door of a black car and getting into the driver's seat.
Ethan got in the passenger seat and found a file tossed into his lap.
"Read it tonight. My contact info is in there. Let me know when you're ready to leave," Angela said, starting the car and driving off.
Angela's driving was impressive. In ten minutes, they were at the Miller family estate.
"I'll be ready in two days," Ethan said, getting out of the car.
"Just call me, and I'll come get you. Since Norman wants to use your Norway connections, you handle that. Now get out," Angela said, opening the door for him.
Ethan caught a whiff of her fragrance and took a deep breath.
Angela frowned, her gaze sharpening.
"Goodbye," Ethan said quickly, running into the estate.
"Such a boring guy," Angela muttered, starting the car again.
"How did I end up with such a cold woman? I should've left for Sunridge last night," Ethan grumbled, thinking about Angela's icy demeanor.
Despite his complaints, he knew Norman and Remington would find him no matter where he went.
The Norway mission disrupted Ethan's plans. He had intended to go to Sunridge to handle the Salvador family affairs, then return to Novaria to be with Jessie and Sarah before heading back to the Wilson family together.
The trip to Norway was supposed to take less than a week, but there were still many unknowns.
Sarah, Jessie, and the others were probably asleep, so Ethan didn't disturb them. He went to his room and opened the file Angela had given him.
The file wasn't long. It mainly outlined the mission: protect Wade Grant and ensure his safe return. Wade was a weapons expert, particularly in supersonic missiles, making him a target for many countries and organizations.
Even the local military in Norway wanted to keep him and would do anything to prevent his departure.
Other spies and mysterious organizations were also after him, so the trip to Norway wouldn't be peaceful.
However, Ethan wasn't too worried. As a Half-Step Grandmaster, he felt confident he could handle some spies and assassins.
With that in mind, Ethan called Eric in Norway.
Eric was surprised to get Ethan's call, especially since it was already midnight in Vexa. Ethan wouldn't call at this hour without a reason.
"Ethan, did something happen to Alice?" Eric asked, sounding tense.
"Don't worry. Alice is fine. She's in Everglow City, just busy lately," Ethan reassured him with a smile.
"So, what do you need?" Eric asked, relieved.
"I'm planning to visit in a couple of days. I need you to arrange two low-profile identities for me. You know what to do, right?" Ethan explained briefly.
"Send me the info, and I'll handle it. What's going on?" Eric agreed but was curious.
"I can't tell you everything because I promised someone. Just need those low-profile identities," Ethan said calmly.
"Alright, but I need a favor," Eric said, changing the subject.
"You want me to bring Alice back to you?" Ethan guessed.
"Exactly. I know you have many women around you. Alice is my only daughter. Please let her go," Eric admitted bluntly.
"I didn't ask Alice to come to Vexa or make her like me. What do you want me to do?" Ethan retorted.
"Just try to persuade her to give up. I know you can do it," Eric sighed.
"I'll try, but I can't guarantee she'll listen. If not, I might have to accept her," Ethan said, deliberately provoking Eric.
"You can't do that! You must be joking, right?" Eric sounded anxious.
Ethan smirked and hung up, already imagining Eric's frustrated expression.
