Chapter 381 Repentance

After 30 years, Gino saw Rex again and was stunned, clenching his fists so hard his knuckles turned white.

Ethan knew that even though Paul was an elder of Celestia Vale, with Francis and Phoenix backing him and Gino, they could scare Paul away.

It was funny how Paul tried to intimidate him but got scared off after a few words!

"Dad, you finally came out!" Caspar broke free from Kenny and walked up to Rex.

"Are you here to kill me?" Rex glared at Caspar with a fierce look.

"I just want to know if what Gino said is true. Did you really kill Mom?" Caspar's voice trembled, and she started breathing heavily.

"Yes, it's true! Do you want to kill me to avenge your mom?" Rex roared, almost losing it.

As Rex reached for Caspar, Gino and Dorian moved at the same time.

Dorian, being a master, pulled Caspar back to protect her.

Gino grabbed Rex by the collar and sent him flying with a single strike.

"Dad!" Jim's eyes widened as he saw Rex hit the ground and spit blood. He rushed to help him up.

"Feeling soft-hearted?" Ethan asked, raising an eyebrow at the injured Rex.

He knew Gino hadn't used his full strength; otherwise, Rex wouldn't still be alive.

"Dad!" Caspar screamed, breaking free from Dorian and rushing over.

"Get away! You're all in this together, so don't pretend to care! If you want to kill me, just do it!" Jim pushed Caspar away and glared at Gino.

"Need my help?" Ethan patted Gino's shoulder.

"No, I'll handle it." Gino shook his head after a moment of silence.

"Alright, I'll wait in the car." Ethan knew this was Gino's family matter and didn't want to interfere. He just wanted to help Gino resolve his inner conflict.

"Let's go to Mom's grave," Gino said to Rex and Jim as Ethan got into the car.

Jim supported Rex and followed Gino without resisting.

Dorian, Caspar, and Kenny followed. The person buried there was Dorian's mother-in-law and Kenny's grandmother, so they weren't outsiders.

The group arrived at Gino's mother's grave.

Gino hadn't visited his mother's grave in 30 years, and now his heart was heavy.

"Gino, what are you going to do with them?" Caspar asked, looking at Rex and Jim with reluctance.

"Don't worry. I won't kill him. That would be too easy. I want him to spend the rest of his life in repentance," Gino said, looking at Caspar with a complex expression before making his decision.

"Repentance?" Caspar was stunned.

"I'll build a small house nearby. He'll live there and repent at Mom's grave every day. If he does that, I'll spare his life," Gino said calmly.

Caspar sighed in relief. She feared Gino would kill Rex, which she couldn't accept. Though Gino's punishment was harsh, maybe it was deserved.

"Fine, I'll repent at your mother's grave, but can you spare Jim?" Rex started negotiating.

"Jim's matters aren't my concern. From now on, Caspar will lead the Salvador family, and Jim will have no ties to it," Gino replied calmly.

Jim was surprised. He didn't expect Gino to let him off so easily. If it were him, he would've eliminated the problem completely.

"Surprised?" Gino asked Jim.

"A bit. Are you pitying me or trying to make me grateful?" Jim sneered.

"Neither. To me, you're just a stranger. I let you go because, unlike you, I don't want to be a beast," Gino said calmly.

Jim's smile froze. Gino's words implied he was a beast, and he couldn't argue against it.

"Gino, why don't you take over the Salvador family?" Caspar asked softly, looking conflicted.

"The Salvador family is just a place of painful memories for me. After today, I probably won't return for a long time. You should take over. With Dorian around, no one will challenge you as the head of the family," Gino said, the last part clearly a warning to Jim.

As long as Jim didn't want to die, he wouldn't harm Caspar.

"Where are you going?" Caspar's face changed.

"After today, I'll train with my master or go to Celestia Vale. The Salvador family is yours now, and I'll hand over all my businesses in the capital to Ethan. I hope you understand," Gino explained.

Caspar, reluctant to let him go, was about to speak but was stopped by Dorian.

"It might be the best outcome. Staying might affect him," Dorian reminded softly.

Hearing Dorian's persuasion, Caspar swallowed her words.

When Gino returned to the Salvador family gate, he found the car and Ethan were gone. There was a letter pinned to the gate with a sword, clearly left by Ethan.

"Thank you, Ethan," Gino said softly, looking towards the capital with gratitude.

By this time, Ethan was already driving back to Everglow City. Though it was completely dark, staying up all night to drive back was no problem for him.
