Chapter 511 Requiem Tower Was the Key

Feeling kinda ticked off, Ethan decided to brush it off as just some kid's nonsense. He was way more interested in figuring out what this so-called spiritual artifact was all about.

"So, what's the deal with this Requiem Tower?" Ethan asked, curiosity all over his face.

"The Requiem Tower's got one job: sealing souls. Except for the first floor where I hang out, the other seventeen floors are packed with souls. If you wanna seal someone's soul, this tower's your go-to," the girl explained.

"Sealing souls, huh? No wonder it's called the Requiem Tower. Sounds like some soul-trapping magic. So, can I just snag anyone's soul with it? How do I even use this thing?" Ethan asked, all eager.

Outta nowhere, a control spell for the Requiem Tower popped into Ethan's head. But to his dismay, if the other person's soul power was stronger than his, the seal wouldn't work.

Ethan figured soul power was like the strength of someone's mind. If that was the case, this thing was kinda useless. If the other person was weaker, he could just handle them without the tower.

"Ethan, what are you zoning out for? What's the plan now?" Elmer's question snapped Ethan back to reality.

Ethan shook it off and, with a thought, the Requiem Tower vanished from his hand.

"Where'd the Requiem Tower go?" Dorian asked, eyes wide.

"Secret," Ethan said with a sly grin. No one could see that in his Sea of Qi, besides the Sun and Moon Beads, there was now a tiny golden tower.

"Ethan, why not try shrinking the Treasure Tower and Archives Tower too?" Elmer suddenly suggested.

"Not a bad idea," Ethan chuckled, heading towards the Treasure Tower.

The Treasure Tower and Archives Tower were both four-story buildings. Just from their names, it was pretty obvious what they were for.

Ethan stood in front of the Treasure Tower, deep in thought. Seeing this, Elmer and the others exchanged looks and decided to stay quiet, waiting to see if another miracle would happen and the Treasure Tower would shrink like the Requiem Tower.

"How about I give you a name?" Ethan was talking to the girl in his mind. He found this way of chatting pretty handy. As long as he thought it, she could hear it, and unless he wanted her to, she'd stay quietly in his Sea of Qi without bugging him.

"A name? I've forgotten mine. You wanna give me one?" the girl asked, all excited.

"How about Tower Spirit?" Ethan suggested with a grin.

"Ugh, no way. That's a terrible name," the girl pouted, clearly not happy.

Ethan was caught off guard, not expecting her to be so picky.

"Alright, what do you wanna be called then?" Ethan asked.

"Call me Angel," the girl said, dead serious.

"Angel?" Ethan's mouth twitched. Good thing he was facing away from Elmer and the others, so they couldn't see his face. This girl was something else.

"Yeah, from now on, call me Angel. It's been ages since anyone talked to me. Finally, I can get outta here!" Angel cheered, all hyped up.

"Hold your horses. Even though I got you with me, I still have no clue how to get out of the SA Guild's secret realm," Ethan said, trying to keep Angel's excitement in check.

"SA Guild? That rings a bell," Angel said, scrunching up her face, trying to remember.

"Yeah, think hard and see if you can recall anything," Ethan urged.

"Nope, all my memories from before I entered the Requiem Tower are in my body. I can't remember squat," Angel pouted, clearly frustrated.

"Alright, can you help me figure out if there's a way to break the restriction on this building?" Ethan asked, switching gears.

"What restriction? I don't feel any," Angel said, looking puzzled.

"No restriction?" Ethan frowned. When they first got here, they were blocked by some kind of barrier and couldn't even get on the stairs.

"I'll show you," Ethan said, heading towards the stairs.

To his shock, this time he actually stepped onto the stairs. The barrier that had blocked him before was gone, just like that.

"There's really no restriction!" Ethan's heart pounded as he took a few more steps, confirming the barrier was indeed gone. He was stoked.

"You actually went up," the three people waiting for Ethan to pull off a miracle all exclaimed together.

"I swear I have no idea what happened. Do you believe me?" Ethan said, scratching his nose and laughing awkwardly.

"I don't buy it. What did you do? Did you find a way to break the restriction?" Elmer asked, trying to step onto the stairs. But before his foot could touch them, a powerful force threw him back.

Ethan's eyes widened in disbelief. He thought, 'What the heck? Why could I get through, but Elmer got tossed back?'

"The restriction is still there. Ethan, how did you get in?" Dorian asked, touching the barrier and quickly pulling his hand back.

"I seriously don't know anything," Ethan said, looking all innocent.

"How could you not know?" Elmer asked, getting up from the ground, looking unconvinced.

"Do you think it's because of the Requiem Tower?" Ethan suddenly thought of the Requiem Tower.

The first time he came, Ethan was blocked by the barrier just like them. This time, the only difference was that he had the Requiem Tower. He couldn't think of any other reason.

"That could be it," Elmer nodded, kinda agreeing.

"Wait, so you're saying only you can go in, and we can't?" Dorian got frustrated. He had come along to help Ethan and check out the secret realm. Now, he couldn't even peek inside the building.

Elmer and Asura Bloodhand were just as frustrated, but this was out of Ethan's hands. They could only chalk it up to bad luck.
