Chapter 491 Brady Was Also Confused
The sudden change not only made everyone in the Wilson family widen their eyes but also excited the guests.
Munro, Clarence, and Dorian had been waiting for this moment, but none of them expected Ethan to start off so aggressively. This wasn't just about creating a scene; it was about creating a huge one.
Brady no longer paid attention to Zephyr but instead stared at Elmer with a gloomy face and questioned him, "Elmer, Eli is a member of the Shadow Gang. What do you mean by this?"
"Brady, at this point, don't you feel guilty saying such things? For over twenty years, haven't you been cultivating your own confidants within my Shadow Gang? Others may not know, but you and I are well aware. Why ask when you already know the answer?" Elmer sneered indifferently upon hearing this.
"I don't know what you're talking about!" Brady's face turned ashen, but he wouldn't publicly admit to planting his own spies within the Shadow Gang.
"You don't know what he's saying, then how do you explain my situation?" Zephyr, who had been ignored, could no longer bear it and angrily questioned.
"I don't understand what you're talking about, Zephyr. Do you not want to go to Celestia Vale anymore?" Brady's face turned grim with anger; he genuinely couldn't understand what had gotten into Zephyr today.
"Celestia Vale? How dare you mention it! Can I really still go to Celestia Vale? You say one thing and do another behind my back. Brady, you really have some tricks up your sleeve, betraying and expecting me to do things you," Zephyr sneered even more upon hearing this.
"What are you talking about? How did I betray you?" Brady finally realized something was wrong, but he couldn't figure out what it was for the moment.
Zephyr gritted his teeth and questioned, "Are you still pretending, or do you take me for a fool? Wasn't it you who sabotaged my spot in Celestia Vale?"
"Impossible. How could I replace your spot in Celestia Vale? And I'm not that powerful. You're giving me too much credit." Brady got quite angry hearing this. In his view, this kind of framing was the lowest level of trickery, easily exposed, and no one smart would believe it.
"Was it you guys?" Brady then looked gloomily at Ethan and Elmer. Besides them, he couldn't think of anyone else who would use such nonsense to sow discord between him and Zephyr.
"Brady, what are you talking about? If you don't have that kind of power, do you think I do? Or do you think Ethan has that kind of power?" Elmer sneered.
Someone called out, "Howard Phillips, elder of Celestia Vale, has arrived."
At this moment, Howard arrived, the mentor under whom Zephyr was supposed to study after entering Celestia Vale.
"Howard is here. He knows the truth better than anyone. Fortunately, I invited him today; otherwise, this matter would be hard to explain." Brady's face lit up with joy, and he quickly instructed someone to bring Howard over.
"Brady, I'm here today to take my disciple. Your succession ceremony is over, right? Can I take him now?" Howard, with a beard, walked over from the crowd and asked Brady with a smile.
"Mr. Phillips, you came just in time." Brady wanted Howard to clear up the misunderstanding between him and Zephyr.
"Brady, what's going on here?" Howard's face turned gloomy when he saw Eli lying on the ground, barely alive.
Brady's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly explained, "Sorry to make you witness this, Mr. Phillips. The Wilson family is dealing with some internal matters."
"As an outsider, I shouldn't interfere with the Wilson family's internal matters, but why is my disciple injured like this?" Howard immediately questioned coldly.
Brady's eyes widened in shock.
"No wonder you were so eager for me to come early. If I had come later, would I have missed the chance to deal with my disciple's body?" Howard snorted coldly and squatted down to check Eli's injuries.
"It's all a misunderstanding. I didn't injure him, and your disciple should be Zephyr, not Eli. When did it become Eli?" Brady hurriedly explained, full of confusion.
Howard immediately stood up and stared coldly at Brady. "Brady, do you take me for a fool? Wasn't it you who had the list changed by the external affairs deacon? I was wondering why the change happened at this time. Are you deliberately trying to embarrass me?"
"Wait, there's absolutely no such thing. How could I have contact with the deacon elder? There must be a misunderstanding. It really wasn't me!" Brady felt his head buzzing and was full of disbelief after hearing Howard's words.
"Then I don't know. The order I received was that the Wilson family's list was changed, and it was said to be at your behest. I was also puzzled why the deacon would make an exception for you. It seems you are quite capable," Howard sneered.
The conversation between the two was heard clearly by Zephyr, and now the evidence was conclusive. He didn't expect Brady to still be denying it.
"At this point, what else do you have to say? Would Celestia Vale wrong you for no reason?" Zephyr shouted angrily. If he could beat Brady, he might have already taken action.
"No, it must be you!" Brady suddenly turned to look at Ethan. Among those present, the only one who could secretly use Celestia Vale to frame him was Ethan.
"Brady, I don't understand what you're saying. What does this have to do with me? I can clarify for you that Eli was indeed not injured by Brady; it was him," Ethan said, pointing directly at Elmer.
Unfortunately, Elmer was wearing a mask, and his expression remained hidden from view, but it was imaginable that his expression must be quite spectacular at this moment.
"Did you injure Eli?" Howard turned and stared at Elmer with a hostile expression.
"So what if I did? Eli was still a member of the Shadow Gang before going to Celestia Vale. He betrayed us, and I was merely enforcing the Shadow Gang's punishment. Celestia Vale has no jurisdiction over the Shadow Gang's matters, right?" Elmer cursed Ethan inwardly but remained unexpectedly firm in front of Howard, actually taking responsibility.
"Elmer only helped me control him; I was the one who crippled him." Unexpectedly, Zephyr stepped forward and also took responsibility alongside Elmer.
"Zephyr, don't fall for Ethan's tricks. This is all his doing!" Brady was almost losing her mind, thinking Zephyr must have lost his senses to actually believe Ethan's nonsense.
Zephyr hesitated upon hearing this because Ethan's relationship with Celestia Vale was indeed complicated. It was possible he had meddled, and in this regard, Ethan was more likely than Brady.
