Chapter 477 Worry

After Brady appeared at the main entrance, he didn't appear in front of Ethan again. Perhaps they just didn't get along, so he used Logan to express his desire for peace. However, Ethan didn't want to maintain the peace as Brady wished.

That evening, after having dinner with Jessie, Chloe, and the others, Ethan dismissed a few familiar faces from the family who came to make small talk.

On the surface, these people came to congratulate him in advance, but behind the scenes, they all had close ties with Brady.

First, there was Logan, and then other family members showed goodwill. Although there was an outward display of harmony and Brady seemed sincere, Ethan wasn't buying it; he dismissed them all with a few words, not even accepting the gifts they brought. The scene was quite awkward.

The ones who felt awkward were Brady's associates, not Ethan, who felt no embarrassment at all.

"You just sent everyone away?" Jessie asked Ethan as he returned to the courtyard.

"We're not on the same page, so why pretend to be friendly?" Ethan snorted dismissively.

"They're just the first batch. Today, it's Brady's associates from the family. The second batch will arrive tomorrow," Jessie reminded him seriously.

The branch families had some people who were absolutely loyal to Brady, but most of them were just superficially aligned with him, representing their own parts of the Wilson family.

Ethan understood what Jessie meant; she wanted to know his attitude towards the branch families. "Don't worry. I won't wipe them all out. I'll give them a chance; whether they seize it is up to them," Ethan said with a sneer.

At this moment, Chloe and the others came out with Camila, who was clamoring to come out and count the stars. Seeing Ethan, she immediately ran over joyfully.

"Daddy, will you count the stars with me? The stars in this courtyard are so big and bright," Camila said excitedly, tugging at Ethan's arm.

"You play with Camila for a while; I'll go back to the room to rest," Jessie said, then turned and walked back to her room.

Ethan didn't think much of it. He knew Jessie had many concerns, but some things had to be done. He didn't want the Wilson family he took over to be a mess.

Desperate times called for desperate measures. Ethan just wanted to solve all the problems with the branch families once and for all. After all, he had many other things to do and couldn't spend all his time dealing with them.

"In a big city like Novaria, it's a rare sight to witness such clear skies," Hannah shared with Ethan, her smile conveying delight. "The night in the mountains holds a distinct charm, and Camila absolutely loves it."

"That's true. The environment in the mountains is much better than in the city. After dealing with the Wilson family matters, we can come back often," Ethan nodded and smiled in agreement.

"Daddy, count the stars with me. Look at that bright star," Camila said, snuggling into Ethan's arms and looking up at the sky, her face full of excitement.

"Alright, I'll count the stars with you. That brightest star is called the North Star. It can guide lost people in the night; the direction it points to is north," Ethan said, taking the rare opportunity to count the stars with Camila.

Chloe and the others chatted nearby, listening to their occasional laughter, and smiling warmly.

"When the two babies are born, our home will be even more lively," Sarah said to Chloe with a look of envy.

"I still have at least half a year to go. Didn't you also sleep with Ethan? If you really like kids, have one yourself. Maybe you'll have twins too." Chloe, as Sarah's best friend, knew what she was thinking and couldn't help but laugh.

"I do like kids, but I'm not that desperate," Sarah blushed and defended herself.

"Did you forget what you said last night? You..." Chloe teased.

Before she could finish, Sarah interrupted, "How did you know?"

"No secret stays hidden." Chloe laughed, and Alice and Hannah joined in.

"Did Ethan tell you?" Sarah realized Ethan had spilled the beans.

"Alright, I can guess what you're thinking. Not just you, but Alice and Hannah too. Even though Hannah has Camila, she probably wants a child with Ethan too, right? Don't you all want that?" Chloe said seriously after laughing.

Sarah, Alice, and Hannah all blushed. Chloe's words had hit home. Although they weren't as proactive as Sarah, they also longed to have Ethan's child.

"Just watch how I deal with him," Sarah grumbled, still upset that Ethan had shared her secret.

"He's got a lot on his plate these days. Don't be fooled by his relaxed appearance; this is his most stressful time. Let's not add to his troubles now," Chloe said, pulling Sarah back.

"That's right. Even if we can't help him, we shouldn't make things harder for him. Joking around is fine, but we need to pick the right time and place," Hannah advised seriously.

"Alright, for your sake, I'll let him off the hook for now," Sarah said reluctantly after a moment of hesitation.

"Yes, we know you have the big picture in mind," Chloe chimed in.

"What are you laughing about?" Ethan asked as he walked over with Camila after counting the stars.

"It's time for bed, Camila. Go to bed with Mommy; Daddy has things to discuss," Hannah said, taking Camila back to the room.

"I was just telling them that we can't help much with the Wilson family matters this time," Chloe explained apologetically.

"Don't worry. I'll handle the Wilson family matters myself," Ethan said, smiling to comfort her.

"Even if you don't say it, we can feel it from the atmosphere since we got off the car. This time, you'll face many problems with the Wilson family. Mom is also worried; anyone can see that," Chloe said, her eyes filled with concern.

"Don't worry. Although it's troublesome, it will be resolved. And even if it can't be resolved, it doesn't matter. At worst, I won't be the head of the family," Ethan reassured them, feeling warm inside and smiling nonchalantly.
