Chapter 607 Moonhowl

"The message from Celestia Vale is to let you know that Moonhowl has emerged. They want you to help tame this spirit beast and make sure it doesn't get caught by the hidden sects," Trevor cut to the chase and told Ethan why he was there.

"Moonhowl? What's that?" Ethan asked, his curiosity piqued by the name. He had a hunch that this Moonhowl was tied to what the ML Guild was after on Vast Mountain.

"It's a wolf spirit beast, right in the ML Guild's territory. You're already here to deal with the ML Guild, so take this chance to tame Moonhowl. Even if you have to kill it, don't let the hidden sects get their hands on it," Trevor explained seriously.

Ethan looked surprised and furrowed his brows. His guess was spot on; Moonhowl was indeed what the ML Guild was after. But he hadn't expected it to be a wolf spirit beast.

Spirit beasts were mentioned in the ancient books of the ZF Knack and SA Guild, but they were thought to be extinct in the modern world. Even if any still existed, they wouldn't show themselves easily. Yet, here was one on Vast Mountain.

What puzzled Ethan was Celestia Vale's apparent high regard for Moonhowl. If it was so important, why hadn't they sent someone to retrieve it? Instead, they had Trevor notify him. He guessed Celestia Vale was using him as free labor.

"Don't give me that look. You know Celestia Vale can't afford a direct conflict with the hidden sects right now. You're not part of Celestia Vale, so you're the best candidate. Plus, you have the strength to pull this off," Trevor said, reading Ethan's questioning look and quickly explaining.

Ethan rolled his eyes. In the past, he would've cursed the people of Celestia Vale for their shamelessness, even in front of Trevor. But now, Celestia Vale's situation was indeed complicated, and he was somewhat involved. For example, the situation on the northwest border and Phoenix's severe injury showed that Celestia Vale was already spending a lot of resources just to fend off external invasions. This was not the right time for internal conflicts with the hidden sects.

Phoenix was ambushed by a grandmaster from the hidden sects, and Celestia Vale hadn't retaliated yet. They were really holding back. If it were Ethan, he definitely wouldn't tolerate it. "You came all this way just to tell me this?" Ethan sighed helplessly.

"That's right. We can ignore other things, but Moonhowl must not be caught by the other side. Just a heads-up, the ML Guild is backed by a super sect, so be careful," Trevor warned seriously.

"But it seems you're a bit late. If you had come half a day earlier, I wouldn't have made a deal with the Ladies Guild. Now things are even more complicated!" Ethan shook his head and smiled bitterly. With the efficiency of those eight female leaders, many people probably already knew about the ML Guild's plans on Vast Mountain by now.

Getting more hidden sects involved in the fight for Moonhowl might just be asking for more trouble.

"I believe you can handle it," Trevor said, staring straight at Ethan.

"Cut it out. I don't even have confidence in myself. Where do you get yours? And how did you know I was at the Ladies Guild?" Ethan rolled his eyes, clearly annoyed.

"You have the Token of the Gods. Its aura disappeared after you entered the Ladies Guild, but the last known location was nearby, so I came to try my luck. Plus, your phone was unreachable," Trevor explained like it was no big deal.

"That thing has a tracking function?" Ethan's eyes widened in surprise.

"Sort of. Tokens of the Gods can sense each other. I had a senior elder from Celestia Vale help locate you." Trevor nodded.

"You reminded me, how do you use the Token of the Gods? According to you, besides summoning Celestia Vale and opening secret realms, it should have other uses, right? You guys are so stingy, giving me the token but not telling me how to use it," Ethan complained, changing the subject.

"Sorry, I really don't know. I don't have a Token of the Gods. But the one you have used to belong to Francis. Maybe you should ask him." Trevor shook his head helplessly and gave Ethan a strange look.

"Right, I forgot about that. Asking you is pointless; I should ask Francis." Ethan realized, but now wasn't the time to worry about the Token of the Gods. He looked at Trevor suspiciously and asked, "So, you came to tell me this and then plan to watch the show?"

"Since Celestia Vale's disciples can't get involved, neither can I," Trevor didn't say it directly, but his words confirmed Ethan's suspicion.

"Get lost, hurry up. With your Half-Step Grandmaster strength, you probably can't help me much anyway," Ethan snorted disdainfully. Trevor didn't mind and turned to leave, his carefree demeanor leaving Ethan speechless.

"His aura is becoming more solid. He should be at the breakthrough point. It won't be long before he reaches the master level," Ethan sensed Trevor's cultivation and muttered to himself.

Without the Sun and Moon Beads and the ZF Knack, Ethan wouldn't have achieved his current accomplishments. In terms of talent alone, Trevor was definitely a genius disciple. But Ethan's existence was destined to overshadow these so-called prodigies, thanks to the Sun and Moon Beads.

"Did he leave?" Bonnie asked curiously as Ethan returned alone.

"He just came to tell me something and then left. Did you take a liking to him?" Ethan joked.

"Don't talk nonsense!" Bonnie got flustered.

"Alright, since I've achieved my goal, I won't stay long. I have something else to do. When Patricia and the others return, explain to them and have them keep an eye on Vast Mountain," Ethan smiled and gave instructions.
