Chapter 1007 Renegotiate the Deal
At once, everyone fell into silence.
No one spoke. They were all staring at the treasure in the box, as if they had forgotten to breathe.
After a long while, Jara finally came to his senses.
Glancing at Luca, he said in a low voice, "Only this one?"
Upon hearing his response, Luca was so angry that steam was coming out of his nostrils.
"It's already a privilege to have one, okay? If I wasn't running errands for you this time, I wouldn't even have seen this alive!"
Obviously, Jara knew that he wasn't lying at all.
Therefore, he snorted, and without a second word, he reached out to take it.
Since Luca had sent the gift, there was no reason to chase him away immediately.
Hence, Jara turned around and led Luca into the house. First, he handed the item over to Uncle Poick to safekeep it temporarily. Only then did he turn around and looked at Luca. In a deep voice, he asked, "What about the breeding method of the plant? Hand it over."
Obviously, he did not believe that such a treasure would be able to grow by inserting it in the soil like ordinary plants.
To his surprise, Luca was stunned for a moment and opened his eyes wide in shock.
"The breeding method? I don't know."
Upon hearing that, Jara frowned and his face darkened in an instant.
"Didn't Coby tell you?"
"No."
With a pause, Luca suddenly thought of something as a sense of guilt flashed across his eyes.

"You can ask him now. Since I am also here, let me listen to the way to breed this thing too."
However, Jara looked at him with a faint smile.
"Don't you already have the medicine? Do the Marsh Family not send out enough medicine to you each year? Why are you coming to me to ask for the breeding method? Are you trying to move out and ask for independence?"
As soon as he finished his words, the expression on Luca's face changed immediately.
His face darkened, then he responded sulkily, "If you don't want to say it, fine then. Why do you have to tease me? You know I am not capable to do that."
In truth, Jara couldn't be bothered to care about whether he had the ability or not.
Hence, waving his hand, he replied, "Alright, your business here is done. You can go now. I'll contact him myself."
Although Luca was reluctant to give up, it was inappropriate for him to say anything.
Consequently, he stretched out his hand and said, "Give me the Jade of Heaven."
Stunned, Jara almost forgot about it.
Anyway, he had gotten the Way Tree now. It was a business deal after all. If the other party took a step back, then he would take a step back as well. That case, the deal would be done.
If they didn't take a step back, sometimes they might push each other into a dead end.
Both Jara and Coby understood the logic.
Therefore, Coby was not worried that Luca would took the Way Tree and ran away because he knew Luca had no guts to face the entire Marsh Family's chase.
On top on that, he was not worried that Jara would not give him the Jade of Heaven after he received the Way Tree.
This was because Jara still had things that he needed his help with. He would not go so far to push things to the extreme.
Indeed, Coby was a master at playing with people's hearts.
He had almost seen through everyone's thoughts.
Hence, Jara asked Emmeline to take out the box from a cabinet upstairs.
Naturally, Emmeline knew where it was kept. There, after she went upstairs, it didn't take a long time for her to come down again.
In her hands was another wooden box. Looking at it carefully, Luca found that it was exactly the same as the one they gave him earlier.
As Luca reached out and took it, he stared at the box with a strange expression.
Then, he looked up at Jara and asked, "You didn't put anything on it this time, did you?"
In response, Jara laughed coldly, "I've applied poison on the box. Do you believe it?"
In shock, Luca's face had a change in color, and he almost threw the box away.
However, it didn't take long for him to realize that Jara was joking.
In an instant, his face turned sour because he had just lost his composure in front of Jara and embarrassed himself.
Therefore, he replied in a bad mood, "Just do it. No one can do anything to you anyway. You've teased me enough already. If you dare to make such a joke with that person, be careful, you might lose everything. By that time, it'll be too late for you to redeem yourself."
Naturally, Jara understood this logic, which was why he really didn't use poison on the box.
Subsequently, he waved his hand impatiently.

With that, Luca snorted and turned to leave.
After he left, Jara and Emmeline went to the study together.
He asked Uncle Poick to bring the Way Tree over, then turned on the computer, and entered a series of codes. In the next second, a window appeared.
In the window, Coby was sitting on the reclining chair with his eyes closed. Jara was unsure if he was actually sleeping.
A simple and unadorned censer was placed on a tea table next to him. From the censer, a light smoke was billowing. The scene was indescribably harmonious and quiet.
However, Jara didn't hold back. He didn't care if he would disturb him or ruin this perfect scene if he made a sound at this time.
In a deep voice, he said directly, "Tell me. What do you need me to do so you'd tell me the method of growing the Way Tree?"
Through the screen, Coby was seen slowly opened his eyes.
He turned to look at the wooden box on the table.
Previously, Rowan had taken out the pinhole camera from the wooden box, but after that, he asked Rowan to put it back again.
He had always disliked modern era toys. For such a small piece of sesame-like camera, the wind would carry it away if it was randomly placed on the table.
Still, it was safer to just insert it in the box.
As he thought of that, he smiled and replied lightly, "Mr. Holland, why don't we make another deal?"
Of course, Jara did not expect Coby to tell him the method directly.
Based on his nature, he would not loose his tongue if he didn't get any benefits in return.
Therefore, he agreed without a second thought.
"Okay. Mr. Marsh, let's hear what kind of deal you want to make?"
In a deep voice, Cody began. "We are not people who are willing to suffer losses, and we don't trust each other anyway. In that case, why don't we put everything on the table? I can give you the Way Tree, but it takes at least half a year before it can produce the fruits again. And it will only produce six fruits at a time, which means it can only bear twelve fruits a year."
