Chapter 423 She's Pregnant

However, no matter how Clarissa was calling out to him, the man lying on the ground still had his eyes shut.
Soon, despair washed over her as if her world had faded into darkness at this moment.
She let out a shrill scream, "Anderson—"
Then, she only felt a fishy taste in her throat and a dull pain in her stomach. Then, everything went black and she fainted.
......
When she woke up again, she found herself lying on a bed.
As soon as she opened her eyes, she subconsciously touched the side, but found nothing.
Feeling her heart tighten, she quickly jumped out of bed and ran outside.
As soon as she reached the door, Clarissa was stopped by a doctor. "Hey, where are you going?"
Clarissa grabbed him and screamed, "Where is Anderson? Where is he?"
The doctor let out a sigh of relief. "Are you talking about the injured man who was sent in with you?"
Clarissa nodded repeatedly with a look of panic. "Where is he? Tell me!"
"Oh, he's still in the operation. Alas, you..."
Before he could finish his words, Clarissa had already ran out like a gust of wind.
On the third floor, at the door of the operating theater.
When Clarissa arrived, the doors of the operating theater were still shut, which meant the operation was not over yet.
The members of the Ethanbez family stood there. Behind them were a few serious-looking bodyguards.
Elicia and Luke were sitting on the chair at the side.
Clarissa's face turned slightly pale.
She staggered over and didn't dare to go to Elicia. Instead, she grabbed Luke's arm and asked, "How is he? Is he okay?"
Luke looked at her panicked look, and his eyebrows furrowed deeply. After a while, he said with difficulty, "The doctor said that he is in danger, and there is only less than a ten percent chance of survival."
Upon hearing that, Clarissa felt a loud bang in her head, as if the sky had collapsed on her.
She staggered back a step. When she was about to fall down, Luke quickly held her up.
"Clarissa!"
Elicia turned her head towards the direction of the voice.
Clarissa shook her head and instantly burst into tears.
"It's all my fault. Why did I trust others easily? If I hadn't been so gullible, such a thing wouldn't have happened. People wouldn't be able to take advantage of this and he won't get hurt. I'm so sorry."
As Luke looked at how pain-stricken Clarissa was, his heart couldn't help but tighten.
He said in a deep voice, "Calm down. There is still a ten percent chance that he might be saved."
Elicia also hurriedly comforted her, "That's right, calm yourself down first. Otherwise, you would collapse before Anderson is saved."
Clarissa was propped up by them and sat down on the chair.
Luke asked, "Clarissa, you were at the scene at that time. Do you know who the murderer is?"
Clarissa tightened her grip on the armrest.
Her eyes were cold. After a moment, she said quietly, "I know."
"Who is it?"
"Her name is Dylan Breslin, and I used to think she was my best friend, but I didn't expect... Ha!"
She smiled in a self-deprecating way. It was not clear she was laughing at her naiveness and being such a failure or the absurdness of the matter.
Luke's eyes suddenly widened.
Luke grabbed her arm tightly and snapped, "What did you say? What's her name?"
Clarissa stared at him coldly and said with a sad smile, "It's Dylan. She called me and lied to me that she was drunk and asked me to pick her up. In fact, she had planned to stab him in the chest when we were distracted. She was the one who killed him!"
Luke was shocked and couldn't believe what he heard.
After the incident, he also sent someone to check the surveillance cameras, but they were all destroyed, and nothing was found.
Someone in the crowd described the killer's appearance, and only said that she was a very beautiful woman.
But no one could describe exactly what she looked like. Because it happened in such a hurry, the crowd could only catch a fleeting glance of her before she escaped.
Because of this, they always thought that the killer had assassinated Anderson in an ambush.
Unexpectedly, this person turned out to be...
Luke fell back on his wheelchair hard, and his face was slightly pale.
In the next second, he commanded a man who had been following him all the time. Soon, the man left at lightning speed.
Clarissa looked at his receding figure and didn't know what was going on.
She thought he was probably off to catch the murderer!
Clarissa forced a smile and did not think much of it. The corners of her mouth curled into a smile, but her eyes were red.
Just then, a doctor suddenly came down from downstairs. When he saw her, he cried out anxiously, "Alas, why are you here? I've been looking for you for a while, but you have not done an ultrasound yet! Hurry up and come with me."
His words made Clarissa stunned for a moment.
Luke, who was getting someone to push the wheelchair for him, froze on the spot. He turned around and looked at the doctor with a little shock in his eyes.
Clarissa was puzzled and asked, "Why the ultrasound scan?"
The doctor frowned and said, "Don't you know? You're pregnant. You're having the sign of miscarriage. I wanted to do an ultrasound scan on you when you woke up, but you ran away as soon as you woke up. Now come with me quickly!"
Clarissa was shocked, and she couldn't help widening her eyes, so did Luke.
It was a great surprise to her, mixed with a hint of sadness. At this moment, she didn't know whether she should laugh or cry.
Clarissa put her hand on her belly gently. There was a little baby in her wombs.
Was it... his child?
"Anderson, did you hear it? We're going to have a child."
"So, you must make it. You must survive this." Clarissa thought to herself.
She could not help crying again.
Clarissa stood in the same spot, squatted down and covered her face with her hands. She felt like someone was digging at her heart, and she was unable to breathe because of the pain.
Luke's eyes were tainted with a reddish color.
He stared at her. After a long while, he felt the surging pain in his heart eased a little.
He said in a deep voice, "Clarissa, you should follow the doctor to do the ultrasound scan first. Leave the rest to me. I will make sure nothing will go wrong."
After he said that, he made a phone call. Not long after, a female doctor came over.
"This is my friend, Sasha, a gynecologist. Sasha, she's carrying my best buddy's baby. Make sure to take good care of her for me."
Sasha looked gentle and elegant in her glasses. She nodded.
"Okay, I understand. Don't worry!"
Luke nodded and turned to leave.
After he left, Sasha went forward to comfort Clarissa, "Mrs. Jordan, the child is your priority now. You don't want Mr. Jordan to hear any bad news when he wakes up, do you?"
Clarissa was stunned. She looked up at her, and finally nodded.
"Okay, I'll come with you."
Inside the room where the doctors performed ultrasound scan.
Clarissa was lying on the cold bed, letting the cold device gently slide on her belly.
The medical device next to her showed the heartbeat of the fetus. The doctor said, "Your condition is a little unstable, and there are some signs of miscarriage. But it's okay. There should be any issues if you could try to improve your mood and stay relaxed during this period of time."
