Chapter 324 The Truth

After Gabriela left, Old Master Levine looked at Lara lovingly and said with a smile, "Lara, Gabriella is a dull person. You should bear with her. Don't take it personally."
Lara smiled sweetly. "Of course. After all, we are a family. Amiability is the most important thing."
Old Master Levine nodded in appreciation and then didn't say anything. He then asked Boyle to push him away.
Clarissa, who was watching from the side, was stunned.
"Tsk tsk, why is Lara always pulling the same old trick? She pretends to be weak and gentle, and a virtuous person. However, no matter how many times she tried that, she will always get what she wants!"
Anderson sneered.
"Most of the people in this world judge others with their eyes, not their hearts!"
Clarissa raised her eyebrows.
She turned to look at Anderson and said with a smile, "Then I wonder if you see them with your eyes or your heart?"
Anderson lowered his eyes as the corner of his lips curled into a alluring smile.
"When I look at others, I use my eyes. Only when I look at you, I use my heart."
As he spoke, Anderson took hold of Clarissa's hand and placed it on his chest.
"Listen, it's happy for you!"
For some reason, Clarissa's face was blushing. She had failed in her attempt to flirt with Anderson. Instead, she was teased by him. She then quickly retracted her hand.
She glared at him and said, "Rogue!"
As she spoke, she walked past him and hurried inside.
It was rare for Anderson to be able to make his Clarissa blush. He immediately burst into laughter and followed her into the house.
Clarissa felt that she had to figure out this matter no matter what.
She didn't want to be fooled by others one day, without knowing what was going on.
It was actually very simple for Clarissa to find out what was going on. She only needed to ask Gimmy and she would get an answer.
Gimmy knew the relationship between them before, so he should know that it was impossible to deceive Clarissa. Hence, there was no need to lie at all.
When both Clarissa and Anderson found Gimmy, he just happened to come out of the tea room after talking with Claus.
When he saw them, he was a little stunned. He then smiled and said, "Anderson, Clarissa, why aren't you at the antehall? What brings you here?"
Anderson didn't respond. Clarissa smiled and said, "We were taking a walk in the garden. We didn't know that we would end up being here."
As Clarissa spoke, she took a glance at Claus.
Claus also saw her, but since they were not familiar with each other, he just nodded to her.
Claus said to Anderson with a smile, "You've been acquiring a few large enterprises recently. You're truly a young and talented man."
Anderson's face was calm as he said nonchalantly, "The Holland family has been active in the political sphere whereas the Jordan Family is in the business sphere. We have never interfered with each other. I didn't expect you to pay so much attention to the Jordan Group."
When Claus heard what he said, the words stuck in his throat.
He then laughed awkwardly.
"It's not surprising that I know about it since we're family friends. But please don't misunderstand. I mean no harm, I just want to praise you."
Anderson's lips curled into a faint smile.
"In that case, thank you for your compliment."
Although the Holland family and the Levine family did not openly fall out with each other, there were several times where they were in conflict with each other in secret.
Both of them were well aware of these things. Hence, since they were not able to see eye to eye with each other, it was not appropriate for them to speak any further.
Claus said goodbye to Gimmy and then left.
Gimmy turned around and said to Anderson and Clarissa, "The two of you came to me because you have something to ask me, right?"
Clarissa didn't try to hide anything and nodded her head.
Gimmy smiled.
"I've already expected it and it doesn't matter. We should talk about it. Come with me."
As he spoke, he walked in front to lead the two of them into the tea room.
Old Master Levine loved to drink tea very much. The tea room of the mansion was decorated particularly elegantly and stylish.
The colors of the room were quaint and even the tea table in front of them was made of antique sandalwood. Anyone who was seated there would experience an extraordinary feeling, even though the tea had not been brewed yet.
The three of them sat down in turn. Gimmy took out tea leaves and said while making tea himself, "I know you are coming, but I didn't expect you to come here today. There are so many people outside. You should have saved my face. Although many people could tell what is going on, no one would say it in front of grandpa. But they are all waiting for the both of you to confront me, making a scene!"
Clarissa smiled and said, "Uncle Gimmy, since you already know that we are going to confront you, you still dare to bring Lara to Flaucford. It seemed like you know what you're doing."
Gimmy frowned slightly and looked up at her.
Next to Clarissa, Anderson had an unreadable expression on his face. His fingers were randomly playing with the ring on his ring finger while his eyes seemed a bit cold.
Gimmy looked at Clarissa before looking at Anderson. He paused for a few seconds and sighed.
"Forget it, it's obvious that the two of you are here to denounce me. I can't keep it from you anymore."
As Gimmy spoke, he got up and poured two cups of tea for each of them. He then sat down again and said, "Lara is indeed not Vivian's child."
Clarissa was slightly stunned.
Although it was what she had expected, she was still surprised when Gimmy had said it out loud.
Gimmy muttered, "Apart from me, my wife, my elder brother and the rest of the Levine family also know about it. We have reached a consensus that we must make our grandpa happy in his remaining days. It doesn't matter whether Lara is Vivian's child or not, as long as she looks like it."
He paused for a few seconds and continued, "And, if there is anyone in the world who knows the whereabouts of the child, I'm afraid that person will be Lara."
Clarissa was stunned for a moment. She didn't understand what he meant.
But Gimmy did not seem to be willing to elaborate it.
Anderson didn't have much interest in that missing child, he was interested to know why would the Levine family do such a thing.
Therefore, when Gimmy finished talking, Anderson asked with a faint smile, "So you asked Lara to pretend to be Vivian's child. But Lara has a bad reputation. Even if you have tried to keep the secrets from him, someone will somehow spread them to Old Master Levine sooner or later. How are you going to explain it to him?"
Hearing this, Gimmy frowned slightly.
" Let bygones be bygones let. Plus, dad hasn't had much time left. During this period of time, I will strictly command my family to not mention anything about the past. As for the people outside, no matter what they say, my dad will not believe them."
Anderson gave a mocking look.
Clarissa asked, "What makes you think that Old Master Levine doesn't have much time to live? Did the doctor inform you?"
Gimmy nodded.
He was silent for a moment before he said, "His cancer has already spread to the liver. Dad is not willing to accept any treatment including chemotherapy. He could live for another two months, at most."
