Chapter 247 You're More Stupid Than Me
Hearing Erin's words, Lara reacted.
She murmured, "Yes, as long as I am Elliot's wife and the daughter-in-law of the Duncan family, they won't leave me alone. Erin, call Elliot for me."
Erin nodded and walked out.
It didn't take long before she hung up.
She walked in and said to Lara, "Mr. Duncan and his father are on the way here. They must have heard the news that you were arrested. When I called him, he said that he was about to get here."
Lara breathed a sigh of relief when she heard this.
Fortunately, she was still Mrs. Duncan.
Even if Elliot no longer loved her, he would save her for the sake of the reputation of the Duncan family.
Erin waited with Lara for a while, and Elliot and Conner arrived soon.
When Lara saw them, she suddenly felt that the endless grievances she had in heart all burst out at this moment.
She wanted to cry. Her eyes blurred with tears as she said, "Dad! Elliot."
Conner still looked neither cold nor warm, and he nodded.
"You talk here, and I'll negotiate with them first."
Elliot nodded.
The Duncan family had a wide range of contacts in Visstead. The policemen knew that Lara's identity was special, so they did not bother them.
They left the interrogation room and let them talk.
Sitting on the chair, Lara was full of grievances and sorrows, and tears kept running down her cheeks.
Elliot sat opposite her and looked at her indifferently.
"Do you think that you can solve such a big trouble by crying?"
Lara was dumbfounded.
She stopped crying, raised her head, and looked at him with tears.
"I'm sorry, Elliot. I caused you a big trouble. Thank you for coming here to save me. I promise that I will be obedient and never cause trouble in the future."
Elliot said mockingly.
"In the future?"
He sneered, "Don't talk about the future now. Let's talk about your current situation first."
Lara nodded and said with a grievance, "Erin said that she wanted to put up bail for me just now, but the police didn't agree. Elliot, you must help me."
Elliot nodded.
"I can save you, but you have to cooperate with me, okay?"
Lara quickly agreed.
"Elliot, what do you want me to do? Tell me. I'm willing to do anything."
Elliot said sarcastically, "Where is Clarissa?"
Lara was stunned.
Her face changed, and she felt that the warmth in her heart seemed to disappear in a sudden.
She looked at Elliot in disbelief, and said in a trembling voice, "Even you think that I hide Clarissa?"
Elliot looked back at her with aloofness, "I know what kind of person you are, and I also know how much you hate Clarissa. Since now we're husband and wife, as long as you are willing to tell me her whereabouts, I will save you. What do you think?"
Lara suddenly felt it ridiculous.
She had never encountered such a funny thing.
Her husband, at her most critical moment, forced her to tell the whereabouts of another woman, or he wouldn't save her.
Lara laughed out loud. The more she laughed, the crazier she became. She even burst into tears.
She looked at Elliot as if he was a joke.
"Elliot, don't tell me that you think Clarissa will be with you again."
Elliot frowned fiercely.
She mentioned the sore point deep in his heart, which made him annoyed and embarrassed.
"It has nothing to do with you."
"Yes, it has nothing to do with me! After all, I am only your nominal wife, and you can divorce me at any time as long as you want!"
"But who do you think you are? Do you think that as long as you know where Clarissa is and then save her in danger, she will be grateful to you and be with you again?"
"Elliot, are you really stupid? Do you think that Clarissa will abandon Anderson and then choose you? What's more, you can't fulfill your wish just because I don't know where she is!"
"Haha…"
After she finished speaking, she laughed crazily again.
Elliot's face turned livid. He clenched his fist tightly, and desperately suppressed the anger in his heart so that he didn't throw out this mad woman in front of him.
"You said you don't know where she is?"
"Of course! If I knew, how could I be locked here?"
"You're lying! It was you who kidnapped her!"
"Yes, that's right. I kidnapped her, but she has escaped. What? You care about her so much, but she didn't contact you and tell you where she is?"
"Oh, look, how ridiculous! You're thinking of her, but she is enjoy a good time somewhere else! Elliot, I always thought I was stupid, but I didn't expect you to be more stupid than me, ha-ha..."
Elliot's colour came and went as he listened to her mocking words.
He clenched his fist so tightly that the bones were creaking. His fingertips turned pale due to the great strength.
Finally, he took a deep breath and stood up.
Looking at Lara who was lying on the chair, crying and laughing, he felt disgusted.
"Crazy woman!"
After speaking, he walked out without looking back.
In the end, Elliot did not release Lara on bail.
Erin didn't know what was going on, but she could probably tell that there was something wrong with the relationship between them.
She was an observant person. She had been in this circle for so many years, and she was best at taking stock.
Lara was in a big trouble, and she asked for it. Even the Duncan family had given up on her. As her agent, even if she wanted to save her, there was nothing she could do.
Therefore, Erin just ordered her hastily, and then left.
Lara seemed to have lost her soul, and she was totally different from her previous appearance.
When Erin left, she didn't say anything to ask her to stay or ask for help.
She just sat there, lowered her head, and answered Erin in a dull voice.
Seeing her like this, Erin knew that her life had been ruined. She clearly could have a bright future, but she was too obsessed with the grudge between her and Clarissa, and finally ruined herself.
Although she gave Lara a lot of bad suggestions, she hoped that Lara could live a good life and did not want to hurt her to this point.
Finally, she sighed helplessly, turned around and left.
After everyone had left, two policemen walked in and were about to send Lara to the place where she would be temporarily detained.
