Chapter 1033 A Doubt in Her Mind
But in fact, except for Jara and Emmeline, none of them had met Coby Marsh.
So, if they were to stand face to face with him, they might not recognize him.
Thinking of this, Clarissa began to feel dubious again.
Hence, she asked with curiosity, "Mr. Coby, seeing how you're traveling alone here, don't you have a job?"
Hearing that, Coby chuckled, "Actually, I'm traveling and working at the same time. Oh, I forgot to mention that I'm a photographer. As I've often heard that the desert here is beautiful, I've always wanted to come and take a few sets of pictures, but I was occupied for the last few years. This year, I finally manage to come here by using my annual leave. While we're talking about this, why don't I show you the pictures I took?"
As he spoke, he took out his phone and passed it to them.
Clarissa took the phone over and looked at the photos.
Sure enough, he took a lot of beautiful photos of the scenery and local customs.
Among all the photos, a few of them were about the desert at night. Obviously, he had put a lot of effort into choosing the framing and the color tone.
While looking at them, Clarissa praised, "Great shot."
Anne also nodded. "Yeah, these photos are beautiful. I like it."
Being praised, Coby smiled bashfully.
"If you like it, I will print a few of them and make a postcard for you later."
"Alright! Yay!"
Overjoyed, Anne clapped her hands.
After seeing this, Clarissa tucked her suspicion back into a corner of her mind.
Not long after, they arrived at Coby's hotel.
When he got out of the car, Anne asked for his number and saved it on her cell phone.
Then, she waved goodbye to him and closed the door.
With that, the car left the hotel and headed to Robert and Sierra's castle.
Meanwhile, Sierra and Robert had arrived home. They felt odd because Clarissa's car was behind theirs, but Clarissa and the others were not home yet. Thus, Sierra called Clarissa.
After Clarissa answered the phone, she chuckled, "We're fine. It's just that we met an acquaintance on the way back and helped him. We'll be back soon."
When Sierra heard this, she was surprised that they would meet an acquaintance here. Even so, she remembered that Anderson often traveled internationally on business, so it was normal for him to have an acquaintance here.
Having that thought, she hung up the phone.
After Clarissa put down her phone, Anderson asked, "Who is that man just now? Have you seen him before?"
When they were exiting the theatre, Anderson was walking behind with the Marf in his arms. Between Clarissa and him, there was a distance. Furthermore, it was crowded and noisy, so he did not know anything.
With that, Clarissa briefly told him what had happened at that time.
After hearing everything, Anderson nodded his head.
"So, that's how it is."
Since Clarissa had no issue with Coby, he didn't think much about it.
Soon, the car arrived at the castle.
Then, Clarissa and the others got out of the car and headed toward the castle happily.
Seeing that they had returned, Sierra ordered the kitchen to prepare supper. After everyone had eaten, Clarissa coaxed the two children to take their baths and go to sleep before returning to her room.
Tonight, as Marf went to his own room, there were only Clarissa and Anderson in the bedroom.
Before that, Clarissa had taken the medication prescribed by Robert to cure morning sickness, so she felt better. However, as she was pregnant with twins, her pregnant belly was big, and her body became heavier.
Thus, despite walking a short distance, she felt tired.
After she took a shower, she lay on the bed and let Anderson massage her legs. While enjoying it with her eyes closed, she uttered, "At first, I thought the man we met today was Coby Marsh, but after thinking about it for a while, he doesn't look like a person from the Marsh family."
In a low voice, Anderson said, "I have the same thought too."
Upon hearing that, Clarissa opened her eyes and looked at him with interest.
"Really?"
"Yes." Anderson nodded. "But that isn't because of his name. It's just the feeling he gives me. I somehow feel that he's not an ordinary passer-by nor a photographer."
"Why did you say so?" Clarissa was stunned.
"Because it's illogical. Which photographer would rent a car worth more than three million dollars? Besides, it seemed that he was trying hard to prove his occupation by showing us his photos, and his fingers were quite stiff when he operated his mobile phone. Although I don't know much about photographers, I know they would have a callus between their thumb and index finger as they often hold a camera. However, instead of having one, he only has some thin calluses on his palms and fingers. This is enough to prove that he was lying."
After hearing his explanation, Clarissa was somehow surprised.
This was because she didn't expect that he could spot this many details in such a short period of time.
After a moment of silence, she asked, "Who do you think... is he then? Why is he here?"
Anderson shook his head.
"I'm not sure, but it's also possible that we've overthought. Let's wait and see. If he doesn't show up again, then it's fine; but if he does, I'll send someone to keep an eye on him and investigate his background."
Only then, Clarissa nodded.
That night, for some reason, Clarissa did not sleep well.
In a daze, she had several dreams. For one moment, she dreamed of herself on a boat, and someone was crying beside her. The next moment, she dreamed of the day when she heard about her mother's "death" and was drenched in the rain.
In short, none of them was a good dream. They were the deepest fear in her heart.
As terror overtook her, she shivered and woke with a start.
Then, she saw the room was still dark, but Anderson was not beside her.
Moreover, the curtains were drawn tightly, and the room was so quiet that she could only hear the sound of the humidifier.
At once, she was in a panic.
With that, she lifted the quilt and got out of bed. After searching for him in the room, she walked out.
"Anderson! Anderson!"
On the other side, Anderson was pouring some water downstairs.
He had a regular daily routine. Even though there were differences in terms of time and climate here, he managed to wake up early and jogged for a lap.
As soon as he came back, he poured himself a glass of water and was ready to go back to his room to take a bath. Just then, he saw Clarissa running out of the bedroom with messy clothes and disheveled hair.
Shocked, he immediately put down the cup and went up to her.
"Clarissa, what's the matter?"
"Anderson!"
Clarissa rushed to him, threw herself into his arms, and held him firmly.
With that, his body stiffened, and his hands were raised in mid-air awkwardly.
At the same time, he could even feel that Clarissa was slightly trembling.
