Chapter 1048 She Was Here

With the thought in mind, she couldn't help but feel a chill in her eyes.
Looking at the tea served by the servant, she could only assume that there were either poison or something else in the cup.
The maid's attitude was very good. Seeing that she did not move, she said softly, "Miss Chapman, here's your tea."
Clarissa couldn't get angry with the servant, so she didn't say anything.
In a cold voice, she replied, "Put it there."
But she didn't even take a look at her.
The maid pursed her lips and didn't dare to say anything, as she put the tea down and left.
Again, Clarissa was the only one left in the room.
Sitting there, she was not in a hurry to move around. Instead, she took a closer look at the room.
The decoration of the room was luxurious, but the furnishing were quite simple.
She counted and found that at the position where she could see with her naked eyes, there were at least four cameras installed.
What was Coby trying to do?
She would not naively think that Coby had put in so much effort to bring her here and tied her up with an iron chain just for fun.
However, although she was a friend of Jara and Emmeline, she thought that she had no connection with Coby, and there was no interest involved.
Jordan Group and the Marsh Family were even more distinct, and there was no business involvement between them.
So, what the hell was he trying to do?
Just when Clarissa was still trying to figure it out, she heard someone sobbing outside.
"Clarissa."
Clarissa's body shook violently, and she said subconsciously, "Mom, I'm here."
"Clarissa!"
Sierra was crying as she ran in.
Perhaps it was because she was old, coupled with the fact that she did not know how to fight, Coby did not watch her as closely as he did to Clarissa.
At least, at present, it seemed that she was relatively free to move, unlike Clarissa, whose hands and feet were tied up.
As soon as Sierra saw Clarissa, she suddenly seemed to find her emotional support. Rushing over, she cupped her face, and looked her up and down. "Clarissa, are you okay? Clarissa?"
Clarissa shook her head. "I'm fine."
She first scanned Sierra's body quickly and found nothing out of the ordinary. Furthermore, she didn't seem to have suffered any injuries either. Only then did she feel slightly relieved.
"Mom, are you okay? Did they hit you? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"
"No, I'm fine."
Sierra's voice was soft, but her body was trembling slightly.
Clarissa knew that the sudden change must have reignited some of her bad memories in her subconscious mind, so she was frightened.
So she softly comforted her mother. "Mom, don't be afraid. We will be fine as long as I am here."
Sierra nodded. With a pair of red eyes, she asked, "Clarissa, who are they? Why did they kidnap us?"
Clarissa pressed her lips together.
She wasn't sure if she should tell Sierra about this matter.
But if she didn't tell her, she would be more worried.
With the thought in mind, Clarissa gritted her teeth and said in a low voice, "They were the people I mentioned to you before. The ones who threatened Jara and Emmeline for the Jade of Heaven."
When she was still in Ashax, Clarissa had told her about it.
Therefore, Sierra and the Robert were both aware of this.
When Sierra heard that, her eyes widened.
"Are you saying that they are from the Marsh Family?"
"Yes."
Clarissa nodded.
"But... why did the Marsh Family kidnap us?"
"I don't know either."
After some thought, Clarissa uttered. "But you don't have to worry. They don't mean to kill us. Anyway, it's not early now. Anderson and Mr. Lane must have known about our disappearance. They will definitely find a way to save us. So we just need to relax and wait for the right time. When they come, we'll be fine."
Sierra's face turned pale as she nodded.
Although Clarissa tried to comfort her in this way, she knew it in her heart.
Coby was different from those people she had met before.
They knew too little about this person. If it weren't for the relationship between Jara and Emmeline, it could be said that she didn't know that someone like this existed.
On top of that, they didn't know that the entire millennium-old Marsh Family was actually controlled by this person.
It turned out that the Chief of the Marsh Family, who was said to have the most powerful position over ten thousand people, was just a joke.
But for an enemy that they had little information about, it was actually very difficult for them to deal with him.
Even someone as smart as Anderson might not be able to find them in such a short amount of time.
However, she couldn't tell Sierra about all of this lest she was frightened of it. It was because of these reasons was even more terrifying.
Before seeing Clarissa, Sierra was very scared, but now that she had reunited with Clarissa, she was no longer as afraid as she had been before.
Clarissa was right. Anderson and Robert would not leave them alone. So she just needed to calm down and wait for them to come.
Yes, calm, she must calm down.
As she thought so, she lowered her eyes slightly and noticed the chains that were locked on Clarissa's wrists and ankles.
When she saw that, her eyes narrowed in an instant.
"Clarissa, what's this?"
As she grabbed the iron chain, her eyes were bloodshot red.
"How can they do this to you? You are still pregnant, this, this..."
Clarissa was afraid that she would get too emotional, so she hurriedly persuaded. "Mom, I'm fine. They just want to prevent me from running away. Besides, I'm not restricted."
As she spoke, she pursed her lips slightly and suddenly lowered her voice. In a voice that could only be heard by the two of them, she said softly, "There are cameras in the room. One is at four o'clock behind you; one in the direction of twelve o'clock; another one is at the spot where your right foot is on the flowerpot, and the last one is on the door. You should pay attention to it and find a way to block them if you have the chance."
Stunned, subconsciously, Sierra wanted to turn around to take a look, but Clarissa stopped her.
"Don't look at it. Pretend that you don't know anything. Just check it out later."
Sierra finally came to her senses and quickly nodded her head.
Just like that, the two of them stayed in the room.
Although Coby didn't lock Sierra's hands and feet, there were people guarding outside, saying that they were servants who would listen to their orders. However, Clarissa understood that, in fact, they were actually on guard.
But since Clarissa was pregnant now, and Sierra was old and knew nothing about martial arts, they were just weak women without strengths.
Of course, she didn't expect they could really escape from here by themselves.
So she might as well calmed down and waited for Coby to do something. She wanted to see what he had in plan.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Anderson was about to go crazy.
He didn't expect that something like this would happen at this crucial moment when he was about to return to Ascijan.
