Chapter 1023 They Reunite Again
Sierra's thin and slender figure appeared along with her voice.
At the sight of her, Clarissa was paralyzed with happiness.
"Mom!"
Sierra was also overjoyed to see them.
With that, she shook off the servants who held her and ran over to them.
"Clarissa."
Instantaneously, they embraced each other. Although they hadn't seen each other for only a few months, they couldn't help crying with joy.
For a long time, Clarissa embraced Sierra before letting go.
Meanwhile, Anne and Marf woke up in Anderson's arms.
Upon rubbing their eyes, they saw the unfamiliar surroundings and people before their eyes, and they looked confused.
This time, Sierra was not as fearful toward strangers as she did in the past. Perhaps, it was because she was in a place that she was familiar with.
Therefore, when she saw Anne and Marf, she smiled. Although she didn't approach them enthusiastically like an ordinary person, Clarissa realized that her nervousness and shyness were gone.
"This must be Anne and Marf. They are so beautiful. Come in. It's hot outside."
Hearing that, Anderson nodded and entered the house with Anne and Marf.
On the other hand, Clarissa held Sierra and head inside together.
Noticing that Clarissa was drawn, Sierra said piteously, "It's a tiring journey, right? The environment here is pleasant, but it's too far away from the airport. Usually, we'll have to take a long car ride from the airport to the castle. However, we're used to it. As for you, you must be exhausted. After all, you're pregnant, and the sun is blazing."
With a smile, Clarissa shook her head. "I'm fine. The car is fully air-conditioned, and we've prepared ice water, so it's not very stuffy. Perhaps I am in the third trimester of my pregnancy, and I have morning sickness, so I am slightly under the weather."
"Don't worry. Later on, I'll ask Robert to prescribe you some medications. He has a prescription to cure morning sickness. After taking them, I believe you'll feel much better," Sierra suggested.
Clarissa nodded.
After everyone entered, Sierra immediately ordered her servants to prepare some drinks and snacks.
In fact, everything was prepared early in the morning. All they needed to do now was to serve them to the living room.
Soon, the coffee table was filled with drinks and snacks. Sierra invited everyone to have a seat before calling Robert to ask him to hurry back.
After the phone call, she sat down and smiled. "Actually, Robert was waiting for all of you with me just now, but he received a phone call, telling him that there was an emergency in the lab. So, he went out. I have asked him to come back."
Hearing Sierra's words, Clarissa said, "It's alright. I can understand that Mr. Lane is busy. Besides, my main purpose is to see you."
As soon as Sierra heard that, her eyes turned red.
Probably she was happy, or perhaps, after such a long time, she had completely accepted the fact that Clarissa was her daughter.
Thus, when she met Clarissa again, she had mixed feelings.
She turned away and held in her tears. Then, she joyfully looked at Anne and Marf.
"How old are they?"
Anne immediately stood up and answered, "Hi, Grandma. I am nine years old."
Marf also cooed, "I'm four years old."
Upon hearing that, Sierra chuckled.
"That's lovely. Come here."
Anne and Marf glanced at Clarissa. Seeing that she didn't object, they ran to Sierra.
As Sierra held her two grandchildren in her arms, warmness flooded her soul.
It didn't occur to her that she could accept them so quickly.
At first, when Clarissa proposed to let Anne and Marf meet her, she was very repulsive.
Even so, the moment she saw them, not only didn't she repel them, but she could also feel a strange warmth that she had never felt before.
Just then, she realized a problem.
Right away, she lifted her head and looked at Clarissa. "Anne is nine years old? Does that mean..." she asked in confusion.
Clarissa knew what she was about to ask.
An awkward look flashed across her eyes, and she let out a dull laugh, "I am not Anne's biological mother."
"What?"
As soon as Sierra heard this, her expression turned cold.
With that, she turned to Anderson. In the beginning, she was quite fond of him, but now, no matter how she looked at him, she couldn't bring herself to like him anymore.
"So, this is Mr. Jordan's second marriage? I thought you two are married for a long time and have such a big daughter."
Actually, Clarissa really didn't want to talk about this in front of her children.
That was because Anne was sensitive. The last time when Chantel provoked Clarissa, she almost fell out with Anne due to this issue.
From then on, Clarissa never allowed anyone to bring up this issue again.
Therefore, without caring about anything else, she gave Anderson a meaningful stare.
After he understood, he stood up and explained with a smile, "You're wrong, mom. This is my first marriage, but Anne..."
He smiled. "In Anne's heart, Clarissa is her biological mother."
Upon hearing his words, Anne profusely nodded her head.
As if she was afraid that Sierra wouldn't believe Anderson, she looked at Sierra and clarified, "Grandma, I only have one mommy. You shouldn't doubt her, nor should you doubt Dad."
In fact, she didn't really understand the conversation between the adults, but she could sense that Sierra had begun to dislike Anderson. Hence, she quickly explained.
Actually, Sierra was only worried about Clarissa, so she blurted those words.
Nevertheless, she didn't mean any harm.
Moreover, although Anne wasn't Clarissa's biological daughter, she felt that Anne looked similar to Clarissa when she saw Anne for the first time.
Most probably, they were destined to be mother and daughter.
Even if they were not related by blood, they would eventually share the same appearance and temperament after being together for a long time.
Thinking about that, she smiled and caressed Anne's head affectionately.
"Okay, my darling. Since you're the loveliest child in the world, I won't doubt your daddy and mommy. So, why don't you stay here and play with Daddy and Marf for a while? I'll have a word with your mommy at the back, alright?" she spoke tenderly.
Confused, Anne stared at Sierra with a pair of big, watery eyes.
After a while, she nodded. "Okay."
As Anderson watched Sierra get up, his eyes darkened.
Even so, instead of saying anything, he called Anne and Marf to come over to him.
At the same time, Clarissa was embarrassed. Looking at Sierra's grim expression, she said, "Mom."
"Come with me, Clarissa."
Without giving Clarissa the chance to speak, Sierra called out to her and left.
