Chapter 1049 Hadn't Show Up Yet
Clarissa was his livelihood. If anything happened to her, he would die.
Furthermore, he now had two children with him. No matter what happened to either one of them, this was not someone the Jordan Family could bear.
Robert's face was also ghastly.
For so many years, he had been living in seclusion here. It was the first time that he had encountered such a thing.
However, he did not blame anyone.
The moment he learned that the two of them were missing, he sent his right-hand men to look for clues immediately.
Anderson had also contacted his own secret agent and ordered them to search for Clarissa and Sierra everywhere around the city.
After analyzing the situation, they concluded that the hundreds of miles surrounding the city were all deserts, and with two living people, it was impossible for them to escape from the land.
If they were to take the plane, Robert already sent someone to wait at the airport. Anyone who was suspicious would be stopped, so it was impossible for them to fly by air.
Now that their path was cut off, they could only stay in the city.
That way, he still had a chance to search for Clarissa and Sierra.
After all these orders were given, the two of them sat at home, waiting for news.
When they were waiting, they were extremely anxious.
Robert glanced at Anderson and asked, "Tell me, who was behind this?"
In an instant, Anderson's face took on a ghastly expression.
As he sat there, emitting a cold aura that prevented people from getting close to him, he replied in a cold voice, "Coby."
Upon hearing the answer, Robert was a little surprised.
"Coby? When did he come here?"
It was only then did Anderson remember that Robert still did not know they had seen Coby earlier on.
So, he told Robert what had happened that night.
After hearing that, Robert fell silent.
"If it's really him, then it's likely that he's doing this to get the Jade of Heaven."
Anderson sneered.
"They've already threatened Jara and Emmeline to help him find the item. Don't tell me they're going to threaten me too?"
"That's not for sure. After all, according to what you said, he wanted to find all pieces of the Jade of Heaven before the New Year. However, he's still three pieces short, and there's only one month left. If Jara still can't find all of them within a month, it'll ruin his plans. Everything he's prepared for now has to go down the drain, so he can only think of ways to threaten more people and make them work for him."
Hearing this, Anderson frowned deeply.
Robert's analysis indeed made sense.
Although Coby didn't look like an impatient person, he did insist Jara locate all six pieces of the jades in three months.
By now, Jara and Emmeline should have another one in their hands, and there were only three left.
However, it was definitely not easy to find it in one and a half month.
Therefore, it was possible that he wanted to find someone else to help him.
But if that was the case, the moment they caught Clarissa and Sierra, they should have looked for him to negotiate terms with him.
Eight hours had passed but why hadn't he shown up yet?
At the thought of it, Anderson became even more restless.
At this time, Anne and Marf did not know what had happened.
Marf was still young. He only knew that his mother had not returned yet, so he kept on asking Anderson about it.
As Anderson didn't want to affect the child, he told Marf that his mother had something to do, and she would come back soon.
Then he asked the servant to take the him out of the room.
On the other hand, Anne was not that easy to be persuaded.
After all, she was a little bit older. For a nine-year-old child, she could sense something was wrong.
Seeing that they looked so strange, and based on previous encounters, she guessed that something might have happened to Clarissa.
But at this time, her father looked very upset. He must be worried about her mother, so she shouldn't trouble him any further.
Looking at Anderson, she asked tearfully, "Daddy, will Mommy come back?"
Upon hearing that, Anderson looked into her eyes and knew that she had already guessed it.
Therefore, he had no intention of hiding the truth, so he asked in a deep voice, "Do you trust daddy?"
"Yes, I do."
Anne nodded her head.
"Then you don't have to ask anything. Go and take good care of your brother. I promise you that I will bring my Mommy back safely."
As Anne looked at him, it was after a moment of pause that she nodded and walked away.
Anderson watched as she left. It would be a lie if he said he didn't feel pain in his heart.
But at a critical moment, he couldn't think too much.
Upon seeing that, Robert stood up.
"No, I can't wait like this any longer. I'll go out to look for her myself."
"Stop right there."
Anderson suddenly called out to him.
"Will they be able to come back if you go out and look for them yourself? Don't forget your identity. You still have something more important to do."
When the words came out, Robert shook violently and turned to look at him.
"Something more important?"
"That's right."
Anderson's lips curled into a cold smile.
"Since it was Coby who did it, what does he care most about?"
Robert was dumbfounded.
"What is it?"
"The Jade of Heaven."
With a pause, Anderson said in a deep voice, "Isn't he unwilling to see us now? That's because we don't have what he wants. What if we do? He might want to see us immediately."
"So what you're saying is..."
"Wait a minute. I'll call Jara and tell him right away."
As Anderson spoke, he quickly called Jara.
When Jara received his call, he was a little surprised.
It must be known that although the relationship between him and Anderson was much closer now, it was very rare for the two of them to contact each other directly.
Usually, he would contact Clarissa.
Clarissa would then convey the meaning to Anderson.
Therefore, when the phone was connected, Jara asked, "Anderson, did something happen?"
In a deep voice, Anderson explained. "Clarissa and Sierra were captured by Coby."
"What!?"
When Jara learned the news, he was extremely shocked.
"How could this happen? Why did he catch them?"
"I don't know."
As Anderson spoke, he pinched the space between his eyebrows. "Have you got hold of the Jade of Heaven from Trikstin yet?"
"Yes, we got it."
"Don't give it to Coby. If it's convenient, I may have to trouble you to come over. If we have some chips on hand, I believe he will show himself."
Obviously, it was Jara and Emmeline's duty to help Clarissa when she was in trouble.
So he agreed immediately.
"Okay, we will check the flight right away and try to get on the earliest flight in the morning."
"Okay." With a pause, Anderson added. "No words can express my gratitude to you."
A rare smile appeared on Jara's face.
"Clarissa got into trouble because of us, so there's no need for you to thank me."
