Chapter 373 Mark Is Dead
They were going to find out who was it very soon.
Clarissa received an invitation to a fashion gala.
Because the organizer of the gala was a brand that she liked very much, she decided to attend.
Coincidentally, Lauren, Evelyn, Teddy, and Anthony were all going to be there.
Although they were all in the same industry, it was rare to have such a good opportunity to get together on the same occasion.
Therefore, Clarissa was so happy that she drank a little bit more.
Clarissa wasn't a good drinker. Maybe it was because she hadn't had dinner before she came here today, she felt a little drunk as the alcohol started to kick in after a few glasses.
Clarissa stopped drinking and went to the bathroom after informing Lauren and the others.
Nora had been following her. She was dressed in a suit while keeping a straight face on. She looked like a successful career woman.
Clarissa gave her handbag and asked her to wait outside. She would be out of the bathroom as soon as she was done with it.
The bathroom had only one exit, so Nora was not worried and let her in alone.
After Clarissa went to the bathroom, she was washing her hands. Suddenly, she felt a chill on her back, as if she were being stared at by someone from the back.
Clarissa immediately became alert. She suddenly turned around and shouted in a low voice, "Who is it?"
However, before she could finish her words, a hand suddenly came out from behind her covering her mouth before dragging her to a compartment next to her.
The light in the compartment was dim.
Clarissa was pressed against the door. Her mouth was covered and she didn't dare to move.
She widened her eyes in shock, but due to the dim light, she could not see his face clearly.
In the darkness, only the man's breathing and the heartbeat of her own could be heard.
She tensed up almost all over, feeling his head gently stroking against her ear, as if he was holding something back. He breathed into her neck, hot and itchy.
"Seven, I haven't seen you for a long time. Don't you recognize me?"
Clarissa's eyes widened all of a sudden as she shuddered.
It was him!
She couldn't be more familiar with his voice.
After all, it was he who had been by her side for so many years, guiding her and helping her.
It could be said that he was the most important person in Clarissa's life, a benefactor, but he was also...
An enemy that she didn't wish to have anything to do with!
Clarissa knitted her brows while she tried to say something.
The other party chuckled.
His voice was soft but cold.
"It seems that you have finally recognized me? Fortunately, although you don't seem to remember my scent, you still remember my voice. At least, I don't feel so regretful."
A few seconds later, he finally let go of her mouth.
Clarissa glared at him angrily.
Even though she couldn't clearly see his face, she still threw him a death glare. She gritted her teeth and said, "What are you doing back here?"
He chuckled. "I'm looking for you."
"I have nothing to do with you for a long time!"
"Tsk, what do you mean by saying that? You were the one who was so fond of me back then? In the blink of an eye, a few years have passed and you don't recognize me as your 'brother' anymore?"
Clarissa sneered.
"There is no brother who will do such things to his own sister! Moreover, I have already told you that I have paid the debt of gratitude I owe you, and I am no longer your sister!"
The man shook his head. He sounded a little disappointed.
"Sure enough, a cold-hearted person will still be cold, whereas the infatuated person could never be out of love. Alas! You said that you have paid back the debt you owed me. Did you mean that matter? But Seven, I was the one who saved your life at the beginning. If I hadn't saved you from the sea, you would have been drowned in the sea already while your dead body lay at the bottom of the sea. Do you think that a small thing you did is enough to repay my great kindness?"
Clarissa was so angry, gnashing her teeth.
"What do you want then?"
The man smiled again.
He even reached out to touch her head.
"As I said, I want to marry you."
This time, it was Clarissa who sneered.
"Sorry, I'm married."
"It doesn't matter, I'll wait for you to divorce him."
Clarissa was speechless.
This man was as annoying as ever!
She didn't want to talk to him, so she turned around and walked out.
As soon as she walked out of the compartment, the light outside was bright, so she could finally see the man's face clearly.
He was very tall, about 1.88 cm tall. He was about the same height as Anderson, but he had a different temperament.
Anderson was an elegant and refined person. He was cold and noble-looking, but he had a devilish charm with a hint of wildness. His eyes could easily captivate others. At one glance, he seemed to be a venomous presence that no one was willing to get closer to him.
Clarissa said coldly, "So you were the one who have been sending presents to the film set to me, weren't you?"
The man squinted with a smile. "Yes, do you like them?"
Clarissa curled her lips coldly. "I had thrown the flowers away. The necklace is in my bag. I'll give it back to you later."
The man shook his head and said, "You're still so heartless!"
Clarissa turned around and was about to leave. When she heard his words, she couldn't help but turn around and warned him, "I warn you, stop calling me Seven! I don't want to hear this name again!"
The man raised his eyebrows. "Then what do I call you?"
Clarissa was speechless.
The man put on a captivating smile. "Seven, I haven't seen you for four years. Do you miss me?"
Clarissa only felt that she was about to fly off the handle.
She did not know why she was so angry. At one glance of his face, all the memories of the past flashed back clearly in her mind. She wanted to punch him so badly.
She said coldly, "Not at all! I'm not interested in you either! So please stay away from my life and don't harass me again!"
After that, she turned around and left.
Just then, a slightly cold voice of a man came from behind.
"Mark is dead!"
Clarissa stopped in her tracks.
Her entire body went rigid.
She turned around and looked at him in disbelief. Her voice was a little hoarse. "What did you just say?"
The smile on his face faded as he looked at her calmly without any emotion as if he were stating a very ordinary thing.
"Mark is dead. He was probably assassinated half a month ago by the same group of people who came after you back then. I found the sign of the flower on Mark's dead body."
Clarissa was stunned there as her mind went blank and her ears were buzzing.
She could not believe what she had heard. After a long while, she finally opened her mouth and spoke.
"What the hell is going on? He... He has been in the country recently, hasn't he? Why..."
"He was assassinated here, at his own home. Mark's wife and daughter were all at the scene, but the other party knocked them out and did not do anything to them. Therefore, I suspect that Mark must have known something."
"From what happened seven years ago, they should be a group of people with principles. They won't kill the innocence, so they let go of his wife and daughter."
