Chapter 73 The Talented Director
Teddy's new project had started for a month. This was the news that Clarissa had received not long ago.
Teddy was the most well-known first-line director of in entertainment circle, and the roles in his movies were much sought after.
Not only did the ordinary actors wanted to act in his movies, but many A-list actors also hoped to get an important role.
However, Teddy was a very principled director. When he chose actors, he didn't care about how famous the actor was. He only cared about whether the actor was suitable for the role or not.
He liked to choose new actors. Compared with the experienced actors who had their own characteristics, a new actor was like a piece of white paper. Teddy's movies all had a personal touch. For him, new actors were easier to instruct and more likely to perform as he wished.
He was known for developing new actors because of this.
One of the reasons why Clarissa agreed to attend the party was because of Teddy.
She smiled slightly, but Teddy looked at her and frowned.
"Why do you ask this?"
"Director Hussain, you know that I'm the president of Starlight now. I asked you this question because I wanted to recommend a suitable candidate to you."
Teddy sneered.
"Are there any other outstanding actors in Starlight right now?"
It was well-known that Starlight was going to go bankrupt. Those actors who could have a bright future had left and no one stayed there.
However, Clarissa just smiled.
"You've chosen actors for all the roles in your new movie, except for the supporting actress. I know that you are a stickler for perfection. Even if the shooting progress would be delayed, you wouldn't choose an actress you don't like."
"I happen to have a actress who is very suitable for this role. If you are willing to give me a chance, I can take her to have a try. I believe she will not let you down."
When the others heard Clarissa's words, they felt surprised.
People around had started whispering to each other in low voices. However, Teddy just frowned and stared at Clarissa without saying anything.
They said, "Who does she think she is? How could director Hussain give such an important role to her?"
"That's right. Starlight is just a small company that is going to go bankrupt. How dare she say those words to director Hussain? I think she really has an exaggerated opinion of her abilities!"
"Even Lara can't get this role. Even if there is an actress in her company, she should be a new actress! How can she be selected?"
"Shh! Director Hussain likes to choose new actors..."
Someone said this, and soon people stopped discussing.
Teddy looked Clarissa up and down. Her temperament was cold and calm, and she looked so determined and steady, which made Teddy believe her inexplicably.
"Anyway, I can have a try and there is nothing to hesitate about." Teddy thought.
He nodded and was about to agree.
At this moment, a burst of laughter came from the door.
Millie said, "Lara, you performed so well tonight and you're more beautiful than everyone else! Didn't you see the way those guys look at you? They're infatuated with you."
Lola said, "Of course. Lara is so charming. Both of her appearance and talent are first-class, so everyone likes her!"
"It's a pity that Lara has got engaged. No matter how much they admire her, they lost the chance to chase after her!"
"Haha, if Elliot hears your words, he will get angry."
"Elliot is a gentleman and he won't get angry!"
Lola was speechless.

Clarissa looked at the door and saw Lara walking in with a group of people.
Lara walked in the middle of the crowd. She was surrounded by Lola, Millie and the other girls. Dressed in a white gown, she looked noble and fragile, just like a princess who needed to be protected.
When she saw Teddy who was standing not far away, she was surprised and happy. Then she walked to Teddy in a hurry.
"Director Hussain, I'm so glad to see you here."
Teddy nodded lightly.
Behind Lara, Lola, Millie and the others were all very delighted when they saw Teddy. They all went forward to greet Teddy.
"Hello, Director Hussain. I am Lola. I have watched your play before, and I like your movies very much."
"Director Hussain, my name is Mary Bates. I am also your fan!"
"Director Hussain, my name is Julie Brown. We met last time. Do you still remember me?"
A group of women stepped forward and soon surrounded Teddy.
Everyone was in a mad rush to be the first to introduce themselves to Teddy. They wanted Teddy to remember them, so that he could thought of them when he needed an actress.
But Teddy didn't like such a noisy occasion. He came to attend the party just for the principle's sake. How could he stand being surrounded by a group of women?
He frowned immediately.
But in such a situation, he couldn't turn around and leave.
Seeing this, Clarissa smiled and said, "Director Hussain, didn't you say that you have something else to do just now? Since that's the case, we won't bother you any further. See you next time."
Teddy glanced at her with meaningful eyes.
After a moment, he nodded and turned to leave.
After taking two steps, he stopped, turned to look at her and said, "Contact my assistant tomorrow, and he will tell you the time."
Clarissa's eyes lit up.
She smiled and nodded. "Okay. Thank you, Director Hussain."
Teddy left.
Lola and the others were so mad.
"Clarissa! What do you mean? You did it on purpose, didn't you? You want director Hussain to leave as soon as we arrived! Don't you want him to talk to us?"
Clarissa held her arms and said blandly, "I'm not qualified to ask director Hussain to leave. You think too highly of me."
Lola was speechless. Then she said unhappily, "Didn't you remind Director Hussain to leave just now?"
"That's right! Don't think that we can't see you through. You're just afraid that we'll be noticed by Director Hussain, and you don't want us to become famous!"
"Right! You're so mean!"
Clarissa smiled, but she didn't take these people's indignant words seriously.
She turned to look Lara up and down.
"Do you think so, too?"
Lara smiled faintly.
"Director Hussain doesn't like noisy situations. They don't know this and made him disgusted. Clarissa, you stopped them in time and I want to thank you."
Clarissa smiled mockingly.
"But why director Hussain ask you to contact his assistant tomorrow?"
Clarissa raised her eyebrows, and her eyes were a little playful.
"What do you think?"
Lara clenched her fists.
She forced a smile, "Don't tell me you can have a chance to get the supporting role in his new movie!"
